Verse 3 is reminiscent of Elim, which is mentioned in the last verse of {Exodus} chapter 15. The Elim wells were very welcome and refreshing but here is something far more wonderful, of which Elim was only a faint type, since the salvation that Israel will then receive will be not only of a temporal sort but also spiritual and eternal.
