Name, signifying “Jehovah of peace,” which Gideon gave to the altar which he built when the Lord appeared to him and he feared he should die. Jehovah said to him, “Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die” (Judg. 6:2424Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
