If the words of the Lord Jesus have not been made very real to us, "Go to My brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto My Father, and your Father; and to My God, and your God," we have missed the enjoyment of what belongs to His own now as the result of His sufferings. It was an announcement such as never could have been made before. There was a new company, blessed in association with Christ in resurrection, whom He designated as His brethren, who were in the same place of divine favor and love that He was in before His Father and His God. In knowing this, how blessed to sing while here on earth the song in which He leads (Psalm 22:22; 40:322I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. (Psalm 22:22)
3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:3)
; Heb. 2:11, 1211For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. (Hebrews 2:11‑12)).
