I’ve read this story over and over to young children in both English and Spanish, and they’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. The illustrations, simple for some adults, seem to really capture the attention of the young, as do the different adventures. There’s one point that used to make my young son chuckle every time we read it together. Find it on pages 26‑27.

If you want to educate a young child while sharing the gospel with them, you may find this an excellent tool. Each page has visual vocabulary in the margins with both English and Spanish captions. Each language is color keyed, making it easy to read in either one. The layout makes comparing languages a simple task. The vocabulary is geared toward the beginner, with a few advanced words for good measure.

No doubt your child has a friend at school, or you have a fellow-employee, who is a native Spanish-speaker learning English. They would probably find this a great way to practice another language and receive excellent gospel materials at the same time.
