Like a Colt You Are Tied; Jesus Wants to Set You Free
Children—M.W. Smith
DISCLAIMER: The following has been auto-transcribed. We hope it will help you to find the section of this audio file you are looking for.
It's nice when we have a meeting for children.
Sing the songs, the hymns that the children like.
I wonder if there's a boy or girl here that has a hymn you'd like to sing.
If you want to raise your hand if you have one.
Like to sing?
Nobody has one.
#8
#8.
Shall we gather at his coming when the dead in Christ arise?
Over here, the Savior summons to God's home beyond the skies. Yes, we'll gather it is coming.
It's glorious. It's glorious. Coming gather with the Saints. It is coming. If washed in the Savior's blood. Now don't forget that last line if washed in the Savior's blood.
What if someone can start a place?
00:05:41
I thought I saw a hand up over here.
#32
What can I wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh precious is the flow that makes me white as snow. No other found. I know nothing but the blood of Jesus. Now you know we we sing this a lot when we go up to New Brunswick where we have a lot of children over there in the tent and we sing it like this. That's the one who was speaking.
He asked the question and the children answered. You have a question in the first line, you have the answer in the second line. You have a question in the third line of the first verse, and you have the answer in the last line. Suppose I asked the question and you answer. What can wash away my sins?
What can make me whole again?
Oh precious.
Snow.
Hunger and fighting all nothing but the lot of trees.
For my cleansing this I see.
For my part of this, my plea.
Oh.
God makes me breathe and slow.
Glow under followed by Lord.
Jesus.
Nothing can foresee anatomy.
Not of God that I have done.
This is all my hope and peace.
This is all my righteousness.
#2
#2.
Come, just Jesus, gently calling, ye with care and toil, oppressed with your guilt, however appalling, come, and I will give you rest for your sin You once has suffered on the cross, the work was done, and the word by God now uttered to each weary soul, is common.
00:10:15
Just Jesus transplant.
Where I'm here.
I will give you.
I suppose we close our eyes and we look to God for his guidance, and perhaps after we can sing another song.
00:15:05
Bless him and go. There was a hand right here in front of me and then I'm going to choose one after that.
What 1 #47? I think that should be on the back. Yes, the last 1 #47.
And if someone can start that please.
He will.
Transform.
All of your one, all of pride, one's in love and in the form.
Like the sky.
Come on for me.
It will start again.
Good day my dragon for his crown.
Left on children.
Left on children.
Full of.
Rain.
Are the jewels and the joy in one hand?
Life is fire.
Right.
I was given a little piece of paper this morning.
And there's a little song on it, and I hope that there's some here that we know it.
Who knows a donkey song?
You boys know the donkey song.
There once was a wild little donkey. He had to be tied to a tree.
But Jesus was thinking about him, he said. Go fetch him to me. And when they had brought him to Jesus, as quickly as ever, they couldn't. That restless, that wild little donkey was quiet, obedient, and good.
When Jesus was riding upon him, he went just the way that he should.
But patient, submissive, We donkey made silver, the blessed Son of God.
And Jesus is able to make you whatever He wants you to be. He loves you and longs to forgive you and make you both happy and free.
I'm not very good at starting tunes and I hope someone knows this.
There once was a wild Lantern donkey. He had to be tied to three.
But Jesus was thinking about him, he said.
No one knows.
William, you know that. Come on, you've got a good voice. Come on, let's sing.
Come on, you can say it. I've heard you sing this before.
Yeah, that started. There once was a wild Lantern dumping. He had to be tied to a tree.
00:20:02
When Jesus was speaking about him, he said to fetch him to me and when they had brought him to Jesus.
About some.
Words we have in the scripture. We'll talk about them a little later, but first of all.
I know your boys and girls have gotten a Sunday school paper last week.
Who can tell me what the verse in that paper is? A memory verse in that paper?
Someone could tell me?
Well, I see two hands. No more than two hands. Don't you boys and girls say the verses in your regular Sunday school?
Do you know the verse? Let me hear you say good, good and wild.
Or Jesus.
Did you learn the witness in the paper last week he that covereth his sin?
You tell me.
All say it together.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaken them shall have mercy. Proverbs 2813.
And now I want to tell you, first of all, I want to read one verse in the Old Testament first, Then we'll turn to the New Testament.
In Exodus.
13.
I hope you can all find Exodus 13.
And verse 13.
And every freshening of an *** thou shalt redeem with a lamb.
And if they will not redeem it, then thou shall break his neck.
And all the first born of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
Now this isn't the word of God.
And it tells us.
That God.
Has claimed upon us.
You know that children of Israel when they were in Egypt.
The Lord was judging the land of Egypt.
And when the children of Israel were there, the Lord.
Took away.
He smote the first born of every house in Egypt that was not sheltered by the blood of a lamb.
And now the Lord tells the children of Israel.
That the first born was his, and they were to redeem the first born.
And it says about the first born of the donkey or the ***.
That they had to redeem it. They had to give a lamb. They had to slay a lamb.
To redeem.
That little donkey.
And if they didn't, then that little donkey had to die.
There was the sentence of death, and I hope you understand what I mean by the sentence of death upon that little donkey.
You know, when a man stands in front of a court and he's found guilty of something, the judge pronounces a sentence on him, a penalty.
And so when that little donkey came into this world.
There was a sentence of death upon that little donkey.
But God had made a wonderful provision.
00:25:02
He said they could redeem it, they could buy it back.
With a little lamb.
And he says every first born of man, every first born child that was born into the family had to be redeemed with a lamb.
The sentence of death.
But not only upon the little donkey.
But upon the little child that is born into this world.
And that's God's word.
And you and I, when we were born into this world, had descendants of death upon us, because we have a sinful nature.
Now I want to turn to the New Testament, to Mark's Gospel.
Chapter 11.
And when they came night to Jerusalem, under Bethpage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent forth to his disciples, and said unto them, Go your way into the village over against you. And as soon as you be entered into it, you shall find a coat tied where on Neverman sat. Loose him and bring him.
And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? Say ye that the Lord hath need of him.
And straightway he will send him hit her.
And they went their way and found the coat tied by the door without, in a place where two ways met, and they loose him.
Certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye loose in the cold?
And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded. And they let them go, and they brought the code to Jesus.
And cast their garments on him, and he sat upon him.
And many spread their garments in the way, and others cut down branches of the trees and strode them in the way. And they that went before And they that followed crying, saying, Hosanna, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Blessed be the Kingdom of our Father David that cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. And Jesus entered into Jerusalem.
And into the temple, and when he had looked round about an all things.
And now the even tide was come. He went out under Bethany with a 12.
Now if we were to turn to the other gospels.
Some parts of this little story, this little incident are recorded and all the other three gospels.
We would find that this cold was a little donkey cold.
And that's why.
I read that part we have in Exodus because it speaks about a little donkey coat.
Here the Lord Jesus.
But down here in this world?
He came into this world.
To save sinners.
And do you think that he wants children to be saved?
Is there someone can tell me a verse in the Bible that tells us?
That the Lord Jesus wanted children to be saved.
Did anybody think of a verse like that?
Something little children through to me.
You know the people back there can't hear you. Say it louder, please.
Yes, that's exactly the verse that I wanted to hear. Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is a Kingdom of heaven, the Kingdom of God I believe it is.
Well, that's a wonderful verse.
The Lord Jesus loves little children. You know, on that the time when he said that there were the mothers that brought their little children, I suppose there was some about the age of some of these here.
00:30:13
They brought their children to Jesus.
And, you know, he must have been a wonderfully kind man. We know he was. And it must have been very apparent to the mothers there that here was one who loved little children and he wanted them around him. And so they brought their children to Jesus. But, you know, they were the disciples there.
And you know we have a hymn. This is a stern disciples drove them back and fed them to part.
You remember that him, all the disciples didn't want the Lord Jesus to be bothered with your little children. Oh, he said, Let the children come to me, He wanted them.
And he wants the little boys and girls here, if there's one here.
That doesn't know the Lord Jesus as savior. Now he wants you to come today to him to take him as a savior.
Well, now you know, in this story that we read, if we were to read what went before this, we would find that the Lord Jesus.
Had been down in Jericho.
If you're down in that place, which is so much of A type of this world.
The place called the City of the Curse. He had been down there, and he found a blind man there, and he healed him.
But now he's on his way up at Jerusalem.
For one purpose.
He's going to Jerusalem in order that he might go to the cross.
And die, the little children might have a savior.
So he's on the way, and now he comes by these villages of Beth, Vadege and Bethany.
And he says he sent out two of his disciples.
You know, he knew that in that city, that town there, he knew there was a little coat.
And he wanted that cold. He could use it.
You could use that little coat for his own purpose.
And he sends two of his disciples after that little coat.
Wasn't that nice?
You know, it's like the Lord Jesus. You know he's up in the glory now. You're no longer down here.
But know the Lord Jesus.
Sends his own servants out to gather in the little children.
He wants little children for himself.
He has a purpose. He noted that he may bless. He noted that he may make little children happy for all eternity with him in heaven.
So it tells them now that you go into the village.
And you'll find when you when you get into the village, you'll find there's a coat tied there.
How did the Lord Jesus know there was a cold in that village?
He hadn't been there. He was going by. How did he know there was a cold there?
Oh, you know, he knows all things.
And he knows your heart. He knows my heart. He knows exactly what you're thinking. He knows what I'm thinking.
He knows what we do, whether it's in the daytime or whether it's in the nighttime.
In the light or in the darkness, He knows all about us.
And you know, sometimes our thoughts and our ways are bad.
But to know the Lord Jesus loves us so much.
That he wants us in spite of our vadnais. He wants us to come to him.
You know, the Bible tells us there's none. Good. No, not one.
None good.
But the Lord Jesus came down here to save is the.
Those that were lost and were lost.
Because we are sinners.
00:35:03
Well, he says you're going to find a cold and he's going to be tied.
All you know.
To me, that reminds me of what we are down here in this world without Christ, without knowing the Lord Jesus Savior.
You know, sometimes we think we can do as we please.
Sometimes when mother, father, tell us to do something, I don't want to do that.
I want to do what I want to do.
But you know that isn't true.
If we don't have the Lord Jesus as savior.
We're servants to sin.
And we're in *******. We're tied, just like this Colt was tied.
And you know, the Lord Jesus speaks of Satan as having his captive.
And the Lord Jesus came to set those captives free.
Well, here was a little coat. He was tied.
He wasn't free to go where he wanted to go.
But the Lord Jesus sent into that village.
To have that cold brought to him.
You know, it's nice when we're able to carry the gospel, the story of the Lord Jesus and his love to carry it to the children like we are right now.
Now it says of this cold that no man had ever sat on him.
You know, the little song that we tried to sing speaks of him as a wild little coat.
And anybody that's ever tried to ride a a little colt that's never been ridden before knows what this means.
You don't stay on in very long.
No, they don't like to be have someone riding on their backs.
They want to be free, so they think.
Well, that's the way. With this cold, no man had ever sat on him. You know, that speaks to me of what we are by nature. You know, we have a will. We want to do. As we said before, we want to do what we want to do.
We have a will of our own.
But you know.
The Lord Jesus.
Wants us to do his will.
To do his will.
And that's where the true happiness is when we come to the Lord Jesus Christ.
To do his will.
Is when we set aside our own will.
And seek to please the Lord Jesus Christ in taking Him as our Savior.
So the Lord said this colt. No one ever sat on this cold, he said. You lose him and you bring him to me. Isn't that nice? You bring him to me.
I said how nice it is when a little boy or girl has been brought to Jesus.
I was thinking yesterday.
When our brother Anderson was talking about Mr. McGuire.
I don't know how many of you boys and girls remember what he said about Mr. Maguire when his father asked him Have you met Jesus?
How about you boys and girls?
Have you met Jesus?
Have you met him? Do you know him as your savior?
Well, the Lord says to the disciples, You bring them to me.
No, that's the place where we can find happiness, not only in this world, but in the world to come, happiness in the Lord Jesus.
And.
So he says, if any man say to you, why do you either say you the Lord in need of him?
The Lord has need of him. Think of that.
In a subway with you and me, the Lord needs us in order to satisfy His love.
00:40:01
For poor sinners.
And for sinners saved by grace.
His love desires to have little children around him.
And he wants you for himself. Oh, he needs little children. The Lord has need of him. Do you know that the Lord has need of you?
Do you believe it? The Lord is in need of you.
Well, these disciples went.
And they found the colt, just as the Lord has said, and the colt was tied.
It was tied by the door. There was outside the door.
This is outside the door.
You know, we sometimes sing that little hymn one door and only one, and yet its sides are two.
I'm on the inside.
On which side are you?
Oh, ask yourself that question. On which side of that door are you now? This little coat is on the outside of that door.
Oh, that isn't a place to be when it comes to salvation, To be outside that door. No, to be inside that door. And the Lord Jesus says I am the door.
By me, if any man entering, and he shall be saved.
This little cold of that tiger was outside that door, but the Lord Jesus had said that he had need of him.
And he sent to get that coat.
But there's something else that says here. It says in a place where two ways met.
Two ways.
Did anybody tell me of another place in the Bible that speaks of two ways?
Two ways.
If we were to turn to the gospel by Matthew, we haven't time. I see our time is going. It speaks of two ways there, two roads. There's a narrow Rd.
And the gate? The door is narrow. It's a way that leads to light.
Oh, says. There are few that enter there. Not very many want to go in that gate.
But then there's another one. There's a wide Broadway.
Wide as a gate. Many there be that go in there. Oh yeah, but that leads down to destruction, to go down to hell.
Know how many in this world are going down that road. How many boys and girls are going down that road that leads to hell. They go into that wide gate. Oh yes, they can go in without any trouble.
But the way that leads to life, it's a narrow gate. You have to get in, yes, you have to go through that narrow gate, and the way is narrow.
But oh, how nice it says. It doesn't say that there are none that go in there out. There's a few that go in.
I wonder if every boy or girl on these steps here had gone in through that gate.
Well, that's where there's little cold ones. He was outside the door, but they're the place where two ways met. He came together right there.
And to know for you and for me the place.
Where those two ways meet is at the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Oh, there's a choosing there. You know, when you come to a place in the road where two roads go off from it.
You've got to choose which one you're going to take.
You got to choose.
When you come face to face with the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You have to choose whether it's a narrow way, the blessed way, the way that leads to life, or to choose the broad road and reject the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior. That's the way with that little coat, he was in that place.
Ronau says they brought the call to Jesus.
Yes, a little cold. He came to Jesus.
00:45:05
And how nice it is when we can say that these little children have come to the Lord Jesus.
You know in the first chapter of John's Gospel it tells us when one of the disciples of the Lord when he first met him.
It says he first goes and he finds his brother and brought him to Jesus.
Oh, that was nice. He found his brother and brought him to Jesus.
Well, how nice it is when those in the family are concerned about their own brothers and sisters to bring them to Jesus.
And the Lord Jesus sat on him. He sat on this cold but.
All this little coat didn't buck and jump like an unbroken horse does. No, he was subject to Jesus. Isn't that nice? The Lord Jesus could ride that little coat into Jerusalem.
We don't have time to go into it as to what it means about him presenting himself as a king to his people, Israel.
But I want to talk about the last verse that we read.
Jesus entered into Jerusalem.
Enter the temple. When he looked around about it all things, and now the even tide was come, he went out unto Bethany with a 12.
You know, Jerusalem was a place where the Lord should have been received.
There was a place where God had put his name and the temple was there.
The temple where the people thought they were worshiping God.
That was a Lords House.
But oh, you know, although they worship God.
Outwardly, yet their hearts were far from God. And I wonder how many boys and girls come to Sunday school like that. They sing the hymns, They say the verses.
But their hearts.
Are far from Jesus. They haven't received Jesus into their hearts.
You know what it says about Jesus here?
He looked around about him.
Yes. He looked at all, just like I can look at these boys and girls here now. He looked at all that was going on in that temple. He saw all of those. They were there praying, and I suppose some of them were singing their hymns.
But you know, he could read their hearts. Just like he knew about this little cold. He could read their hearts.
And he knew what was in them.
And it says he looked all looked all round about him and he left it all behind him.
You went out. You went back to Bethany, to that little town where there were those that loved him. You went back there to be in that little town where he knew that there were those that loved him.
You know the day is coming when the Lord Jesus is going to come and he's going to take his own out of this world. And all those that don't love the Lord Jesus, those who have not put their trust in him, he's going to leave them all behind.
He's going to leave them behind.
They will not be taken when the Lord Jesus comes for his own. Oh boys and girls, don't you want to come to the Lord Jesus now so that when he comes to take his own out of this world?
You'll find you a monster. You know that little hymn we sang about the jewels?
Oh, don't you want to be one of those jewels in his crown?
Well, perhaps we can sing another hymn and then we'll close.
How about #45?
2 Little eyes to look to God.
Little ears to hear his word, 2 little feet to walk his ways. Two have to work for him all my days. One little tongue to speak is true. One little heart for him. Now in my youth, take them Lord Jesus, and let them be always obedient and true to thee.
00:50:08
Kill and all eyes too long to grow to.
You to hear me a fire.
To the rain.
To you and try to make more hair and all my things.
One will come to speak.
And born train my friend.
Far away love you and feel true true true true, true.

Pioneer, though vile they need not fear with joy they now may hear. Yet there is rule #15.
Yeah, there is true.
Yeah, there is room.
There's still room. Have you bailed yourself of it? If not, will your anchor hold #11?
Where do you have your anchor cast? You have it in Christ? Or are you going on in your own independent way? Will your anchor hold?
In the storms of life.
When the clouds unfold, their wings of strike, when the strong tides lift and the cable strain, will your anchor drift or firm remain. We have an anchor that keeps the soul steadfast and sure, while the billows roll, fasten to the rock, which cannot move, grounded, firm, and deep in the Savior's love.
Hold in a storm of light.
And it was straight.
00:05:12
Will.
Straight fear.
Down the tree is the near.
Wisteria.
Why Live Blood?
Will grow anger.
Where?
Chill your eggs and spread.
So the 19th chapter of Deuteronomy, Deuteronomy 19.
Reading the 1St 6 verses.
Concerning these six cities of refuge.
When the Lord thy God hath cut off the nations, whose landlord thy God giveth thee.
And thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities and in their houses. Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.
Thou shalt prepare thee away and divide the coast of thy land.
Which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit into three parts, that every Slayer may flee thither.
00:10:01
And this is the case of the Slayer, which shall flee feather, that he may live, whosoever killeth his neighbor ignorantly, whom he hath whom he hated not in time past, As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbor to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree and the head.
Slippeth from the hill, and lighteth upon his neighbor that he died, he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live.
Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the Slayer while his heart is hot, and overtake him because the way is long, and slay him, whereas he was not worthy of death in as much as he hid him.
Not in time past and then a short portion.
In Joshua chapter 20.
We get the names of these six cities in Joshua 20 versus 6-7 and eight.
Joshua 20 verse 6 And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days. Then shall the Slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, and to the city, from whence he fled. And they appointed Kadish in Galilee.
In Mount Napoli and Shechem in Mount Ephraim and Curjith Arbor, which is Hebron in the mountain of Judah, and on the other side Jordan By Jericho. Eastward they assigned Beezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben and Raymond in Gilead. Out of the tribe of Gad, Angolan invasion out of the travel Manasseh.
These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, That whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation then over in.
Isaiah 28. This portion has been referred to.
In our readings, I believe.
Isaiah 28.
We have what man thinks is a safe refuge beginning at verse 14 of Isaiah 2018.
These are the concoctions of man's reason.
Wherefore here the word of the Lord, ye scornful men that rule this people, which is in Jerusalem, Because ye have said, we have made a covenant with death and with hell are we at agreement. When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come nigh unto us, for we have made lies our refuge.
And under falsehood have we hid ourselves.
Therefore, thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone.
A sure foundation he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet, and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies.
And the waters shall overflow the hiding place, and your covenant with death shall be disallowed, and your agreement with hell shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
And a precious word.
For consolation in Hebrews.
Chapter 6 Hebrews, Chapter 6 and verse 18.
00:15:09
Hebrews 618 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge, to lay hold upon the hope set before us.
Who have fled for a refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us, which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil, whether the forerunner is for us entered. Even Jesus made an high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
One other verse in Psalm 142.
Psalm 142.
And verse 4.
Here we have.
The prayer of David when he was in The Cave.
Fleeing from Saul, I believe. Psalm 142, verse four. I looked on my right hand and beheld, but there was no man that would know me.
Refuge failed me.
Refuge failed me. No man cared for my soul.
I cried unto thee, O Lord, I said, Thou art my refuge, thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Going back then to Deuteronomy.
About a year ago. A little more now.
There was quite a scare in Des Moines regarding fallout shelters from the radiation.
Belt that is supposed to be right over Des Moines because.
Omaha is the Strategic Air Command Base.
Which would be target #1.
And there were many people concerned about it.
They were talking about fallout shelters, talking about how to build your own, or how to buy one or how to have one built. But.
This is something far more important than that.
Many tears have been shed over the scare that had passed through there.
But this is something to cause much concern. Having no refuge from the coming judgment, having no refuge from God's awful execution of his indictment that has been over this wicked, sinful scene ever since Calvary.
Tonight we have a refuge to present, and that refuge is the Lord Jesus Christ. And we know that every poor soul needs a savior, every soul needs a refuge. And we find that here, all through God's precious word, as we have concerning this portion here in Deuteronomy chapter 19, there was a necessity for a refuge from the manslaughter.
And Satan is out tonight to slay men. He's the man Slayer, and he's out to slay you, send her friend, and do you down and take you into a lost eternity forever to be in that place of torment and torture with him. And the false prophet and the beast that we read about in Revelation 20 or tonight all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death.
But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. And we know well enough from what we have in God's precious word that the soul of Sinner it shall die. And that takes you in Whosoever sinneth shall die. Your sinners all have sinned and come short or are destitute of the grace of God having missed God's mark, Christ having missed God's goal. And you're going on in the dark, and you're going into a place that's eternally dark.
00:20:09
Where there is no light and no love, because God is light and God is love. And when you enter that place of doom and darkness, there be no love. There be hatred weeping and waiting and gnashing of teeth, and darkness so dense as has never been known to man before, nor since. Because God is light and God won't be there, and it's going to be your doom and distant darkness from God if you don't have the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior, as your place of eternal refuge.
And safety and security. And that's why we have gospel meetings, that these precious things might be made plain. Because God is not willing. Any should perish. God is not willing at any should be lost, should be doomed and damned. No God is waiting in patience and in grace and faithfulness and long-suffering, tender mercies, just wanting you to receive His Son as your Savior and to become one of His children through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross.
Having your hearts cleansed by the precious blood of Christ, made fit for God's eternal presence. And that can start tonight. And if you don't have Christ as your Savior, you may go out that door tonight and be struck dead before you get home, and be in a be in a place of distance from God that will never be spanned, never for all eternity, but the distance is spanned tonight and can be your.
Benefit to take the Lord Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life.
From this scene, he can take you all the way to glory if you put your faith in him and have him as your savior. And so it tells us here that souls are under the curse. Take a look at it. You think that you don't need a refuge? You think that you're going to keep the law? I'm just talking with one this evening in the kitchen. Well, we we don't just believe that way. Well, let's take a look at Galatians 3. I believe it is.
And verse 10.
A very pointed verse.
As to this question, and it puts it out so plain here that there's no need to be mistaken.
It isn't keeping of days. It isn't keeping the law because you've broken it and you can't keep it. And so here's your your.
Definite positive word from God's word as to the result.
Galatians 310 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse.
Are under the curse, for it is written. Cursive is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them, but that no man is justified by the Law. In the sight of God it is evident. It is evident.
For the justice shall live by faith and the law.
Is not a faith, but the man, the man that doeth them.
Shall live in them. So if you're trying to keep the law, you're under a curse and.
You're doomed. And oh, what a darkness is ahead of you, dear Senator Fred, whether it be young or old.
Rich or poor, it doesn't matter. God loves you and He wants you to receive His Son as your savior. That might come off money, this curse that you might have eternal life, You might have joy and peace. Like I've been singing it, there's room and will your anchor hold in the in the time of strike when those winds of God judgment blow and we think of the little little upset that they had in Anchorage, AK Oh, that's just nothing in contrast to what will take place.
Oh, God is powerful. And God will shake and turn things inside out as a Vester. And he will do it so suddenly that there will be no possibility for escape, no exit, no Exodus whatever. For you owe tonight. There is hope, There's help, and we offer it. It's the Lord Jesus Christ, God's beloved Son. And so here the Slayer was coming out, says his heart was hot. Well, Satan's heart is hot.
He's.
He's really out to devour. He's out to destroy and his heart is hot in pursuit of you. And that's why you're still going on in your sins. You don't want to give them up, do you? Don't want to give up? Because Satan has a hold on you and he's telling you just go on just a little longer in your sin and get the best this world has to offer. And then when it comes a little later in your life, then you can consider God.
00:25:22
And you can consider God's salvation. But don't get in a hurry. Don't be enthusiastic about it. Don't be a fanatic. Just wait. Just wait and hesitate. Neglect and bind by you. Reject, That's what will take place. Reject. Just neglect is that which adds up to rejection. But remember this. How shall you escape if you neglect so great a salvation? Oh, it's great because of what God has invested in his beloved Son.
All that he has done on Calvary's props.
God's best has been invested, and that's why it's great. Oh, how are you going to escape if you neglect so great a salvation, God's great salvation? Oh, tonight we praise him for that great salvation. But if you won't have it, take a look at what we have in Second Thessalonians in that first chapter, the most powerful verse that I know of in God's word as to the outcome of those who refuse God's gospel.
It's I'm so glad that it isn't.
My word, But it is God's word, and God's word is true, and God's Word will will come to pass. And oh, what a solemn thing to be caught in a dilemma such as we find here in in first, second Thessalonians chapter one, the latter part of verse 7, the middle of the verse when the Lord Jesus, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven.
With his mighty angels.
Plural angels. One Angel in Hezekiah's days slew 185,000 troops in one night. Here he is coming with his mighty angels in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction.
From the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power think of and that means you unsafe Sinner, friend, here tonight, if you won't have the Lord Jesus Christ and his gospel.
That means you if you continue to disobey the gospel.
You are in life. You are in death row for punishment eternal, to be delivered by a just and a righteous and a holy God against you and your sin for all eternity. Because you won't have God substitute, you won't have the Lord Jesus. And so you must bear the consequences yourself in your own body for all eternity and in your spirit.
Oh, what agony, What Torture. What torment? Weeping and wailing the Lord Jesus says about 10 * / a gnashing of teeth.
And that's to be Not just for a fortnight or or for 25 years or 100 years, but that's going to be for all eternity. For all eternity. Think of it.
My heart said us to just even endeavor to contemplate one iota of it. To think of what we have seen of someone suffering and pain, and to think that that's going to be accentuated and never terminated.
And that's your question. You want that? Do you want your loved ones to have that? Are you? Are we going on callously and carelessly concerning our loved ones outside of Christ? Think of it. They're they're going one step near one day is near eternal hell today than they were when this day started this morning. One danger.
And we haven't laid ourselves in our pathway, We haven't put a gospel tract in their pathway, we haven't spoken a word of warning. And they're going over the precipice into a loss eternity. And some of them are our own sons and daughters.
Oh, tonight they wear beware because.
Because of the wrath of God, Because of the wrath of God. Beware lest he take thee away with his stroke. And then a great ransom cannot deliver thee. His stroke will come down just as surely as he said it in Joe 36 and 80. And there is wrath because they've been reading about it in Thessalonians. And it will come down because they're just being suspended by a very fragile thread. And God will clip the thread one of these days. And done. It'll come.
00:30:12
And it'll be more than anything ever took place in Anchorage, AK, or any other place in the wide, wide world. And it'll be so terrific that men's hearts were failing for fear, and they will call upon the rocks that cover them and the Dennis to protect them. And there will be no escape, no escape.
Oh, for a solemn time. That's why we say there is need to night for refuge. Oh, flee to the refuge, flee to the Lamb of God. Flee to God's Christ, and be found safe in him. Rock of Ages cleft for sin, let us hide ourselves safe within.
Because there's no other place. There's no other place of safety and security. None whatever. Well, Satan is powerful, and we desire to be delivered from him and his power. And we see here in this 28th chapter of Isaiah that man has made a concoction of lies for refuge. Oh yes, man does that. He's hiding behind his lies every day. And he reckons a pilot isn't big enough. And so he adds some more to it that make it higher so he can get behind it better.
And oh God said I'm going to come cut that all down.
And I'm going to cut you down too with your pile of lies. Your refuge. Man has tried that. Man has tried to hide behind the tree, you know in the garden of Eden. Ah yes. And today man is hiding behind hypocrites. And I've often thought, if you're going to hide behind that hypocrite, you're going to have to be just as crooked as that hypocrite, just as crooked as a Corkscrew. And and you can't hide unless you're crooked like he is. And so man has tried to hide behind an apron of fig leaves and man is trying his various.
Maneuvering and concoction.
And Christendom trying to hide and what a message made-up and it tells us, you know, let us look at it in Hebrews 4. I believe it is. It's a very important portion as to being naked before God, because it tells us there.
In Hebrews 4 and verses 12 and 13 for the word of God is quick, it's living.
And operative, living and operative, quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight, but all things are naked and opened under the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Think of that. Think of that. You're going to have to stand there before the great white throne, you poor, unsaved Sinner friend, tonight, naked and open. God sees everything. God knows everything. And there you are. You have anything on.
To hide you haven't anything at all.
You're thinking perhaps tonight that your good works yourself, righteousness will hide, hide you plenty from God's present. Oh no, far from it. They're going to be naked and open before him with whom you have to do. And you'll stand there speechless, and you'll hear him say, depart from me, your workers of iniquity. I never knew yet.
Oh, but a solemn indictment. And it's just that way. And the execution of it is so soon to come to pass, and so sudden. And what will you do when he shall punish thee? What will you do? Where will you go? Where will you hide?
Just a few, just a couple of weeks ago, I had the funeral of Mrs. Kelsey in northern Minnesota. She was one of the very few that passed through that awful hately fire when 412 souls were burned to death.
She was 80. She was.
7 to 8 years old time of her death. She was in a deep hand, dug well.
With wet burlap sacks overhead when that awful fire passed through trains on fire, school buildings on fire, farms on fire. Thousands upon thousands of acres on fire and no place to flee.
412 souls burned up in just a matter of a short time.
Oh, that's just one little fire. One little fire. Think of what we have in Second Peter 3. When God is going to melt the whole sea, and all the works are in, everything reserved for fire should be burned up. And then what wilt thou do when he shall punish thee? Or if you don't have a place in Christ, if you don't have a standing in Him, you don't have any standing at all.
00:35:19
Nunhadiq. Remember that.
Well, God's word is faithful. All things are naked and opened under the eyes of Him with whom ye have to do, and you're going to have to do with Him, and you're going to have to do with Him individually. We can't do it for you. We would if we could. We've been praying for in the prayer meeting. We plead to God that you might have your soul tenderized, that the Holy Spirit of God might have His way in your heart, that you might surrender to Christ. You might receive Him as your Savior, for as many as receive Him to them gave you power.
Right authority to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name. Not on my name, but on his name. That name, that name. Or take a look at in Proverbs 18 and 10. All that name tells us there about it. A wonderful tower. Proverbs 18 and 10 says that.
The name of the Lord. Oh, the name of the Lord, none of the name given among men under heaven, whereby man can be saved. The name of the Lord is a great tower is a strong tower, a mighty tower the righteous runeth into it, and.
Is safe. Oh, tonight. Have you run into that tower yet? Have you? Oh, look at that lovely verse. The name.
Of the Lord Jesus Christ. The name of Jehovah is a strong tower. A strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and is safe. I remember about 13 years ago, Brother Willis speaking about the high towers that have in the rice paddies in China to protect the dear Chinese from the bandits coming up the line.
You said.
They would ring a bell. They could see from the tower ring a bell or blowhorn or something. And all these people from different parts of the rice Pate would run to this high tower, this strong tower go in and bolt the doors against the bandits. Oh, tonight isn't wonderful to have a refuge.
Oh, a refuge? Sure. And steadfastly read there in Hebrews 6. Within the veil, our Lord Jesus Christ, our loving Savior, all His precious blood can cleanse your heart from sin and make you fit for God's eternal presence and make you secure and safe forevermore. Isn't that lovely? He's able, and he wants to do it tonight, and he wants to do it now. He doesn't want you to wait. He doesn't want you to just hesitate one more moment. He wants you to take His Son as your savior right now. Because now.
Is God's time. God's time is now, so we have here.
These precious things to encourage our hearts. There is need for this refuge, and God has provided. Isn't it wonderful? God has foreseen the need, and he has provided this wonderful refuge. And so with the manslaughter who had slain his neighbor without any premeditation, no hatred in his heart toward him. Oh, he needed a place of refuge.
He might be safe from this pursuer that's hot on his trail to take his life. Well, we thank God tonight for such a place of refuge. But before we turn to another portion, let us take a look at Revelation 6.
And we see there.
The awful anxiety of man's heart in that closing.
Time of anguish as we have it there in Revelation 6.
And beginning at verse 12.
And I beheld when he had opened the 6th seal. And lo, there was a great earthquake. And the sun became black as sackcloth of hair. And the moon became as blood. And the stars of heaven fell onto the earth, even as a fig tree castle for untimely figs when it's shaken up a mighty wind. And the heavenly parrot is a scroll when it is rolled together. And every mountain island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth and the great men and the rich men and the chief captains and the mighty men, and every bondsman and every freeman hid themselves in the den.
00:40:01
And in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, And from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great Davis wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand? I have here my hand a little sketch.
Some of you perhaps have passed over.
Known as the Frank Slide up in Canada, we've gone over the top of this city several times and it tells us about this awful disaster. Well, this slide took place in April 29th, 4:10 in the morning, 1903. A gigantic wedge of limestone, 1300 feet high, 4000 feet wide, 500 feet thick, crashed down from Turtle Mountain and destroyed the town of Frank.
70 millions 70 million tons of rock swept over 2 miles of valley, taking 60 lives and burying numerous homes, the mine and railway along with 3200 acres of fertile land to a depth of 100 feet in 100 seconds.
And that's just one little thing that took place back there. We've gone over the top of that place and they tell us that there are people down there that never even tried to dig them out. There they are.
Well, in this day, reading about in Revelation 6, they just invite something like that. They're just invite those Turtle mountains to fall on and.
Nothing will take place. They'll have to face God's judgment, no place of refuge. Only one little baby was rescued out of this whole dilemma, and they named her Miss Frank.
Or it makes you shudder to think of what took place that morning where they were still in bed. But oh, there's something worse going to take place dear unsafe. So if it don't take Christ as you're saved What a terrible time is ahead of you And we find here in this 142nd song David said I looked. He said I looked on my right hand and the hell but.
There was number man that knew me. And no man cared for my soul. We do care for your soul tonight here, Senator friend. We do. We love you. And God cares for your soul more than we do all He does because he's proven it by sending his son to be your savior, He says, I look and I beheld, but there was no man that knew me. Refuge failed me, Refuge failed me. And no man cared for my soul all tonight you can't say that no man cared for your soul because this gospel meeting has been convened.
For your convenience, for your purpose, for your help, for your soul spiritual welfare. We do care for your soul. And if refuge fails you, it won't be God's fault, it'll be your own. Because you have, you have failed to avail yourself of the refuge that God has provided in the Lord Jesus Christ dying of Calvary, His side pierced from hence blood and water flowed.
That you might be cleansed from sin and made fit for God's eternal presence. Oh, isn't it Love, God's provision. But all the sights are strangely sad. God be seeking but man refusing to be made forever glad. That's the sight of sad tonight. That souls go on in their sin and won't have the Savior. That's the sight of SAT. Well, we have here God's wonder provision. We heard about it last night in John 316.
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever that takes you in, whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. Isn't it lovely? And the Lord Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him to set me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life. Isn't that lovely? Death unto life. And you can have that transaction made tonight in your heart, if you will just have the Lord Jesus as your savior. And so we know that God is waiting, and we don't know if he's going to wait until morning or not.
We can't say he's going to wait until midnight. We couldn't guarantee that the Lord Jesus wouldn't come before 2 minutes from now or even one minute from now. He might come before we take another breath. He may come any second. Are you ready? Are you ready? Have you had to do with the Lord Jesus Christ concerning your sins? Or you're just hoping so, thinking so, guessing so maybe it'll be all right. I don't know.
00:45:04
Hope so or don't. Don't want like that. Don't gamble like that. Be sure. Be sure. Be sure right now. Be dead sure that you know the Lord. It is yours and you have a clear tide of the glory. And that all is well with your soul. Be sure well. God has made a provision rich in mercy. Yes indeed. God commanded His love toward us. That's why we were that sinners. Christ died for us. I know, 44 years ago.
The Lord Jesus had come. I'd have been doomed forever. But I'm so thankful that he waited for me and the little farm in southern Minnesota that he waited for me. And then he rotted my soul and they played with me, His Holy Spirit taking the word I'd heard for the first time in the gospel. And many of them. I don't know what you have to be thankful for, that you can hear the gospel in your young years. I didn't. But all have good to know the Lord Jesus as my savior.
Can recommend him to you. He saves and he keeps and he satisfies.
He's never failed me. I've failed him many times. But he never fails. And he will never fail. He cannot fail. And so tonight, take him as your safety, your loving savior. And so we find here, let us turn over to Romans chapter three. We get the scope of this refuge. Oh, it's a wonderful scope. And we thank God tonight that this scope is still in operation.
Romans 3 and we have there in verses 22 and three, this lovely portion.
Romans 322 Even the righteousness of God, which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all, look at that unto all whosoever will make come, and upon all them that believe, oh wonderful propitiation unto all, and substitution upon all them that believe, want to be one of those tonight that believes upon all them that believe. For there's no difference. There's no difference.
For all sin and come short, destitute of God's Christ, destitute of God's mark. All have sinned. So you need to come in God's way and do it now because we would urge upon you. It's a very important matter where where something is urgent, it demands haste, it demands concern and demands action. Right now put issue into action, don't just guess about it.
Our blessed Lord is the One, and He's the one who is waiting tonight to be your Savior. Her little verse I used to enjoy.
In regards to those dear souls in Africa, I think of that verse in Romans 8. I believe it is and verse 10. And you know this.
Spoke of God's refuge is so, so near, it couldn't be in an era.
I opened the drawer last night in a motel and I said, oh, isn't it wonderful? Here's a Bible. Here's a Bible in this drawer. Well, I believe you can find a Bible in every hotel or motel drawer these days and in many, many schools. Most of them perhaps not read, but there it is. But however, how wonderful to have God's word so near. It says here in Romans 10 and eight. But what saith it? What saith it, this refuge? The word is nigh thee.
Even in thy mouth and in thy heart, that is a Word of Faith which we preach. Could anything be planned? It's near. This city of refuge is near tonight. The Lord Jesus Christ is near. He wants, He wants to be your Savior right now, tonight. Isn't it lovely?
These six cities 1/6 on this side of the river and 6:00 on that side of the river. They were so close that.
And so convenient that this man who had slain us all by accident, could flee to it. If it wasn't this one could be that one or that one over young. It was on this side of the river. Here are three more cities, and there's no excuse. He can get into one of the six for sure. And tonight the Lord Jesus is near, and the way is marked, because he said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
All so near and so clearly marked.
You don't have to mistake the path. Here's the way. Or without the way, there's no going. He is the truth. Without the truth there's no knowing. And he is the life. Without the life there's no growing. Oh, tonight, boys and girls, that you might grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ if you know him, if you don't know him, or that you might come to him and get acquainted with. Receive him as your sake. To know him better is to love him more. And he wants you tonight to just.
00:50:22
And breathe and allow him to embrace you, that you might know that you're his and that he's yours and all is well. They have a clear title to real estate in heaven, a whole purchased and paid for by the precious blood of Christ. Ah, it's something to think about. And so here. What's that? The word is nigh thee even in thy mouth and in thy heart. That is the word, I think, which we preach. Oh, what? What a contrast to a refuge of lies.
To what man can conduct and try to get by with or is corruption.
Well, we thank God for these precious truths, the nearness of our Lord Jesus. And it's so secure, it's so safe. The Lord Jesus said, You know, in John 10:00 and 9:00 I am the door by me, If any man enter in, he shall be SAVED, say, and shall go in and out and find pasture.
Oh, how good to have a place like that to come to and the Lord Jesus.
Said it. Can't you believe him? Can't you take it at his word? He said it. He said I am at the door. The door knocked 2 doors. No, only one. I am that door. I am the door. Buy me. If any man, any boy, any girl, any woman enter in, he shall be saved. Oh, what a lovely word to herald out. Jesus saves shall be saved and shall be in and out and find pasture. Isn't that lovely? And that's for you in the Savior. God sucked tonight.
And so we can rejoice in what a wonderful place, our refuge, and what a wonderful love is his and everything cared for. We can say those of us who know Him as we have in Ephesians One and Three. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ have blessed us with all spiritual blessings, all spiritual in the heavens.
In Christ. Isn't that lovely? My God shall supply all your needs according to riches and glory. By Christ Jesus. Oh, he hasn't failed us in one. I would never, never. And there's not one here tonight that you can say the Lord Jesus ever. Faith. Oh, I'm only sorry. One thing and that is that I didn't come to announce soon. And I'm so sorry that anyone here tonight hasn't known it up to now. I feel sorry for all receiving. close him with God's awful mercy and know what it means to be born again. Know what it means right now.
Well, we rejoice as we turn over here to Joshua Chapter 20.
We have these six cities in closing. We just look at them briefly and they're wonderful cities.
We have here something here for us as believers tonight we have here The first one is called Kiddish Kedish. Well, that means holy.
For such an high priest became us, who is holy, undefined, harmless, spot, and so on. And we praise God for him tonight. Oh, how good to have one such as he is to know.
That God sees me in Christ.
Blameless in spite of all my blunders.
Just as near and just as dear to the Father heart of God as he is.
And that's only because a soul receives the Lord Jesus as his Savior. You can't claim that if you're outside of Christ or no, but if you're in him, you're just as near to God as the Lord Jesus is to the Father heart of God, and just as dear and just as safe for all eternity. I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish. Believe it, Sinner friend, and rejoice in it, and don't let the devil rob you of it.
And so.
That lovely word, that first city, Kadish. And he's the one, our loving Savior who did no sin. Then we have Shechem. Ah, that's a nice name, Shechem. It means shoulder or support.
Oh yes, I love to think of that connection with Isaiah 9 and Six. The government shall be upon his shoulder, but when it takes one of his poor sheep home, you're going to take him home both his shoulders, double security in a Savior's hand and in the Father's hand and on both His shoulders.
00:55:10
What could be better? Shechem, that lovely city, and that also means a place of wrestling. I believe that we have there. It says there, and they appointed Katie Shin Galilee in Mount Natalie. That's the place of elevation, the holy and the true one, and it speaks of their Napoli wrestling and check on his shoulder. It's a place where there's been a lot of wrestling, a wrestling.
The Lord has wrestled. We we hear, we read about wrestling in God's precious word. And the victory has been won over tonight. Enter into that. Don't be turbulent and disturbed and distressed any longer. Just receive the Lord Jesus and rest in his finished work. He said Finish. Take him at His word. God says it. Believe it. That settles it. Take him at His word. That lovely word. Shechem. Yes, on both His shoulders. And so we can rejoice tonight that we can just relax.
As we have it in the African language, just relax in everlasting life, we sing it and that hymn.
On the Lamb of God our souls are resting.
Where are you resting that? Are you resting on your good works? Are you resting on your laurels? What are they? Oh, rest on him. Rest on his finish work. Rest on his precious blood shed for you on Calvary's cross. Well, we have another lovely name here, it tells us. Hebron.
And that speaks a fellowship up there and that latter part of that verse 7 fellowship or a place of communion.
Oh, how good to have passed from death unto life and have fellowship Hebrew with him tonight. What's your fellowship going to be like? You don't have any fellowship. If you're lost, you're undone. You don't have anything to look forward to. We were speaking about it this afternoon, some of us brothers together speaking about, oh, how terrible it must be to be in a lost eternity and be alone. Alone in darkness, forever alone.
Lots of people there, but you'll be alone. You go into a hospital and you see people just.
Tearing their hair and tearing the bed clothes until they get to them with the hypo and I was with one brother said they'd give me 100 hyper to be about 109 hypers in about a week or 10 days time, he said. I just tear the pillow keys. I just tear the the the bed sheet, she said. Until I get to me, the hypo. Do you think a person in that agony cares anything about company? Oh no. No, they don't care about company and in hell or be torment and torture. No, no desire for company there, no desire for companionship there. Oh, think of it tonight.
And that's where you're headed. Well, there's a place of rest for you in Christ if you have as yourself, Hebrew fellowship, communion. Oh, we thank God for that tonight. And so that's what we have here. And it says in Judah, in the mountain of Judah, a lot of part of verse 7. A place of Praise. Judah speaks of praise. Oh, I've often said it. You know, an unsaved soul doesn't have anything to sing about. No, you don't. But we who are the Lords, Oh, we can.
Just sing and praise Him and we will all through the ages of eternity.
No, out to it. And so tonight let us just remember that Hebron fellowship, and we praise him for that. Behold, what manner of love the Father bestowed upon us. Us, worms of the dust, wriggling worms of the dust, us as it once were in our sins, half bestowed upon us, That we should be called the children of God, the sons of God now. Wonderful, yes.
What a what a contrast, wriggling worm of the dust.
Took place a position in God's sack and like him and with him for all eternity. Where are you going to be? What are you going to be like? Oh, poor loss. So you're going to be in a place with the damned doom breath. Oh, what a country. What a terrible thing. Why don't you, Why don't you give up tonight? Why don't you surrender? Why don't you receive Christ as your savior? Raise the white flag and say I'm all done. I'm all done. I take Christ. Now's mercy. I want to go to be with him.
I don't want to go to that place of the doom and the damned distant doctors forever. Well, think of it then. We have this lovely thought. Here in First Corinthians 19. God is faithful by whom you were called, unto the fellowship, unto the fellowship of his Son. Jesus Christ our Lord call from back unto the fellowship of his Son for all eternity. That's Hebron. That's fellowship. That's the name of one of those cities. And that's the place that we can rejoice in tonight. We're going to be in that place.

Change in the glint of an eye with him and like him forevermore. What a lovely, lovely scene. And then we have here, Beezer down here in verse 8.
Says on the other side, Jordan. That's the place of death. Jericho is a place of.
Fragrance.
Bees are in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben. Reuben the first born Beezer, a stronghold of fortress. Oh, that's what I read about there in Proverbs 18 and 10. The name of the Lord, the name of Jehovah, the strong tower. The righteous runs into it and is safe tonight. Where are you going to run? Oh that you might run to that place of refuge and be safe. And so we have ram up there a little farther down in that verse 8 and ram up.
In Gilead.
Ah, Gilead speaks of witness, and Raymond speaks of exhortation. Or tonight, think of it. He is exalted on high. He is exalted at the father's right hand. And then that last lovely golden joy. Oh, joy.
Oh, he wants your joy to be full. Dear St. of God, over here tonight. And you want to have a heart half full of joy. What's the matter? He wants our hearts to be full, to read about it in John. He wants our hearts to be full. And running over, running over. And so Gollum speaks of joy, wonderful joy. And we praise him tonight. Let us take a look a couple of those verses before we close. John 16 and 24.
Joy, the joy of the Lord.
Shall be your strength. And so there in the 16th chapter, there are several on that lovely theme of joy. But our time is up.
John 16 and 24 headed to heavy ***. Nothing in my name ask, and you shall receive that your joy may be full. He wants our joy to be full. And we read there in Isaiah. I think it is 2010 the joy of the Lord. Oh, it's his joy in you now the joy of the Lord shall be your strength.
Oh, how wonderful the joy of the Lord. So we rejoice tonight that we have these six cities brought before us here. And we heard this afternoon or this morning, in the morning meeting exalted God's right hand. That's where he is. Ramoth and Gilead, God's son, God's right hand. And soon we'll be there. We want you there too, dear Senator, Friend.

General Meetings. St. Francisville, March 31St, 1963. Reading meeting.
Or presentation of the truth.
But holding the truth in love.
And that should characterize the the truth as it is in private.
Full verses 15 and 16 and still.
Collected, that is connected with the truth. That's the one body.
Growing up into him in all things, which is ahead, even pride, complexity.
Flexitro.
We have the truth mentioned in 25th verse that seems to be on practice with with life instead of ordinary speech.
Truth in verse 15.
As the truth.
But the the functional.
Revelation concerning the body of Christ.
Was the basic connection between.
These verses 15 and 16 what we have in Jude.
18 and 9:21.
Dude, 2021.
Suppose listen dude would be more individual but.
When the principle applied. But ye beloved.
Building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying the Holy Ghost. Keep yourselves in the love of God.
Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Suppose it's possible to.
To become.
Careless regarding.
Our love for the Lord and our love for his. His brother. Our brother.
Keep yourselves in the love of God. That's a that's a positive responsibility, isn't it? Yeah, it's cool that there wasn't the keeping yourself and love of God and individuals satisfied wouldn't be able to carry out your collectively, no.
What we have in view perspective for a day like this when things are in terrible ruin and apostrophe S upon us.
It's a day in which we need especially those things that are mentioned there and those two verses that have been read.
Over in Ephesians of Trust we have.
The church presented to us.
As it is because it's the revelation that we get through the Apostle Paul.
And if it weren't for these officials, we wouldn't really know what the church is, and we wouldn't know what the truth is. And so in the time of ruin, we go back to these epistles to find what The thing is really in the thought of God. Because if we look around this impression and we couldn't find out what it is.
One is been impressed with that 20 second verse off on the lake and of some.
Have compassion making a difference.
Larry June 1St, 22.
And help patient.
And our loving and compassionate our blessed Lord has been toward us and our brothers who have been patient with us.
And so there may be cases that are very difficult.
00:05:04
But some have compassion making decisions.
The truth shouldn't be applied and strictly legal way. Let her kill us.
Now John and his epistle, the 2nd Epistle.
Seems to put an emphasis on the truth.
And in verse one.
He he's addressing his little letter to.
The sister.
Whom he loved in the truth.
Verse two. He speaks of the truth sake. Verse 3.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son and Father, and truth and love. Verse 4I rejoice greatly that I founded my children walking in truth.
And he also leads the truth and love together. It's very important that if he lives together. However, when we think of John, we think of him as setting forth the love of God. When we think of Paul, we think of him as setting forth the truth of God. But they both link both together, which is very lovely. And I believe the Spirit of God will remind us that we're not to forget the one at the expense.
Of the other.
We're not to emphasize one above the other, but we're to hold them in balance.
Follow 2 expressions in a festival of John. Give us the nature of God. Believe not his daughters life and God is love and the life that answered the truth.
Using the truth without our future. No doubt we have an example of that in John 13 where the Lord is washing his disciples feet.
The water, the figure of the word.
But when the largest Washington disciples see he wipes him with a towel, well, it speaks of doing it gently, not harshly.
And I'm sure when he's washing, his disciples see he's not using hot or boiling water. And sometimes we might make our words very hot. It may be the truth, but we want it up too much and it burns.
The ones to whom we're speaking.
All we can learn many lessons from watching the Lord Himself.
May grow up into him. That's important thing, isn't it?
Grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
Thought there that our head is on high churches here. Well, the growing up would be the proper connection with the head and the whole body simply joined together in fact about whichever joint supply.
We get the next bird.
It was different from.
What the early Jewish Christians?
Hell, we read off, especially in the book of Hebrews.
They hadn't reached that stage. They weren't growing up into him. That is, they didn't see Christ having gone to glory. I believe that's the perfection that's spoken of in Hebrew, that they possible desires for them that they might be perfect. Let us go on and says what you want to watch.
Well be through thinking about looking for Messiah down here on the earth.
00:10:03
Remember, the Lord has gone to glory and be looking off unto Jesus.
And I believe he's telling them this same thing, perhaps in other words, but to grow up in him, get connected with Christ in glory.
But he's on high and glory and the church is down here very earthly minded. There wouldn't be a connection with it.
That is practicing.
Will establish and build up in Christ.
My heart is set ahead of the circuitry, the object of everything.
Doesn't him that she was saying we're leaving there throughout all things after him all things which is prepared.
But the truth all concerns about you throughout the art of him and in him.
The Ministry of.
Head of the Church in the body is having.
The Fijian.
Heresy to counteract an occasion she can give us a.
I.
The Lord is a proponent of her head here.
What good would her body be without her head?
The head directs all all the directions from the various members of the body and the whole body sees a unit. All that direction comes from the head and if the body is not in practical connection.
With the head, well the the members of the body won't be energized. Take for instance.
A person who has some sort of paralysis may be an arm that's paralyzed.
Well, there's the link between that arm and the head has been cut off. It's injured in some way. True that the arm may have life in it. The blood is still going through it, but the connection with the head is gone. And the head may want that arm to do something, but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't respond.
Well, we might say that that arm is not growing up into the head. There's no connection there. And what's the result?
In incapacitation, paralyzed conditions, and so I believe that that is one of the problems, difficulties, sad things and Christendom today is not lack of growing up into the connected with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Why everyone of us was in sweet communion and fellowship with the Lord, and nothing between us and the Lord was giving us His mind and we were getting every.
Bit of his mind and responding to it. What a difference it would there would be in the Church of God today.
But the church is not responding to the game and so we have a bad condition, condition of all the divisions and so on in Christendom today.
He was certainly joined together.
And there's nothing to do with that.
Have to work with the Lord from home.
Perfect.
1St.
00:15:04
Isn't mindless.
Horrible failure.
Yes, I believe it's looking at it here. It's in the mind of God that they joined together.
We couldn't simply join one another together.
Leave that shirt large and attempt to do that. Each one will be appointed to a certain function or office.
But let's be a human eraser.
And human ranges while then it.
Couldn't be receiving what we had in the rest of the world.
Sometimes the human Ranger.
Attaches more than one head.
And that's very impractical.
Arrangement because the bodies as usual, as confusion.
11 had this there's no going on and and prominent because.
The contacting order.
And therefore chaos. There was thinking here of how important it is that.
Being that we are his workmanship and he has fitted us just where he wants us, how important it is to function.
In that particular capacity.
The mother was out of joy that couldn't function. Well, that's it. And the.
The different band joints they they surprised Americans, which is so essential and we find here that.
Making increase of the body and the edifying of itself in love and over in First Corinthians.
Well, and.
31.
But however earnestly, the best gift.
And yet shall I ask you a more excellent way? And then we come right on into Chapter 13.
So then down in that chapter.
We have in the last verse.
The emphasis placed on love and now by the faith folks and love these three, but the greatest of these is love.
That God's estimate of love.
And that would perhaps be the lubricant by which the assembly.
Is preserved from friction love.
Speaking of a body.
The human body in its normal condition has power of function within itself. It doesn't need some outside outside power force to make it function.
The Church of God.
Body of Christ has power of function within itself.
Now many organizations have been created in Christendom.
And we might say in a way, they've been set up alongside of the body.
To keep the church going.
Well, it would be a strange thing. We got the idea that we needed some kind of a machine set up alongside of the human body to keep a joy, and we have to carry that around with us to to keep it going.
Well, it would be a weight and a terrible burden. And so all of these human organizations and human arrangements and Christians and today are great wake and burden in the dear Saints of God. Many of them don't realize, but there are some.
That are way down with them. They they're wondering what to do about it.
All we need to see that the body of Christ, that power function within itself. There's the head and all the members and every member is in practical union with the Lord Jesus Christ. It'll function. We may not be able to see something. That's something we have to go go through in our experience by faith. We have to believe that the head is there and He will take care of everything.
00:20:26
We get that, but before us in Colossians. Do we not blush in chapter 2 and the one given?
And the remedy in verses 18 and 19. Colossians 218.
Let no man beguile you of your reward and the voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, including into those things which he has not seen. A band popped up by his flesh reminder.
Now holding the head, or as in the margin, not holding past the head, from which all the bodies by joint and band, having nurse administered and knit together.
Increases with the increase of God.
What is the failure of customs on this?
All in the head, that's true.
And now they're figuring out things with the.
With these electronic computers to find out from where the dog is back there in office. A lot of non sex. If they put in enough lies, they get lies out.
And that's all about that.
$3000 for all this is what we have here, isn't it?
Secure food in the among us all.
The truth hopeful and the impacted by that which every giant supply may be some joints in our body. We don't know just exactly what the function is, but we miss them. If we didn't have it or if they were stiffened, they're not breaking why we soon feel.
So every joint so that every joint has a function.
One is a part of that body somewhere or the other and they have a function perform.
Come back in verse 7.
We were told that unto each everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. And so here the.
It's according to the effectual working in the measure of every part. Every part was mentioned again here and each part has a place in the body and there's a measure.
For each Part 2 and it's for each one of us to be exercised as to the measure of our part in the in the body of Christ. But if we're all subject to the Henry hitting our orders from him and looking for him for that grace that he he speaks out here.
Why? We'll be fulfilling our part and we'll have the increase of the body.
Inverse cloud was seen as.
There's an individual responsibility, at least individuals are looked at there.
But over in the 16th verse.
It seems that the act which is put upon an increase of the whole body, the whole unit of the time.
In verse 12, it's the perfecting of the state.
But in verse 16 is the increase of the body.
00:25:04
Well, you can't think of the body without thinking about the individual things. And if we know the truth, we can't think of the individual things without thinking of the whole body. We mustn't separate the two.
You get them both from that 12, yes.
For the anytime of the body, of course.
Well, starting with verse 17 then.
We get some practical things brought before based on what we've had before.
We got the word walk again.
We've had the thought walk front before us in connection.
With our vocation, that is the calling, the heavenly calling.
But now the walk has brought the tour in contrast to the way the Gentons were walking.
Farther away we used to walk.
And it shows too, does it not? That mere fact that having had such wonderful truth brought before us that we need these expectations. We'll have to. We cannot say we're all without all this. Now, I don't need to speak to you about these other things.
What the pieces I therefore say therefore, and testify in a law, the committee is solemn charged for it.
Back in the second chapter we get.
These things mentioned.
Especially in verse 2. But how how thankful it can be for verse one?
And you have the Quicken who were dead.
Trespasses and sins, and that in that state.
We have verse two wherein when time passed, ye walk according to the course of this world.
According to the Prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the term disobedience and snow out.
One of the black pictures, but as we have in our chapter down in.
Verse 20 But ye have not so learned Christ.
I'm not saying capture notice from verse 11.
Wherefore remember that keeping in time past Gentiles in the flesh.
Now he says, don't walk as other Gentiles walk.
That is, they were Gentiles going on in the flesh, going on in the same He's been saved.
And they were in a different sphere altogether. Now it's been taken out of the world, they've been saved. They've been united to the Lord Jesus Christ. They were part now the body of Christ.
What a what a change, what a change for them, what a change for us to be taken out of that sphere in which we were and brought into the Church of God, made a member of the body of Christ. Well, when you think about that, you can't help but have a sense that.
It's not fitting to go on like a YouTube.
You're in a different environment. A difference here altogether. United through Christ, we're heading to law and aligned it to every other one who saved. Why we can't go on the same way we used to.
The word on verse 21 not to anticipate, but we know what our mother Hail used to say regarding that little word gift.
Put there to exercise our conscience.
If so be. If so, be.
That you have heard him.
And have been taught by him.
As the truth is in Jesus.
00:30:04
You just can't.
Work these things out.
Without him, it's impossible.
There must be that that provider relationship with himself.
There must need to be the indwelling presence and power, the Holy Spirit of God.
And then there will be light. And because there's light, there'll be growth will be increasing.
1819 versus show us.
The power of the Gentiles is mentioned in the 17th verse and why they do the things that they do. Having the understanding darken. You nearly need it in the life of God through the egg present them.
Because it blinds their heart and being past feeling and giving themselves over of all that seriousness to work all on things to treat him.
Picture of the gym talk darkened healing in.
And blindness.
And being passed here.
It seems the way you might say, strange to think that those he just demonstrated such wonderful truth do that he has to put them on a guard and falling into that old passport.
Which those in the life of God and religion and seem to enjoy.
And it shows how the.
If we get away from the Lord and the Spirit.
Then we revert back to those things.
Life hasn't changed any. There's a new man, but the old man still the same.
If the Holy Spirit.
Is grieved.
Well, we've lost the.
We've lost sense, as it were.
And.
It makes me think of what we have in relations. The 5th chapter.
We're six feet of Galatians 5 This I say, they walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Lots of positive things walking in the spirit.
And walking in the Spirit no doubt involves more than we might just see on the surface.
But to walk in the Spirit must mean who to follow along with the Spirit.
In everything and especially exhausting the Lord Jesus Christ because that's that's the principal work of the Holy Spirit is resolved, the Lord uses to occupy us with him.
But.
If we should.
Then the Holy Spirit will have to occupy it with sustained and while he's occupying it with the sin that is, get to get us to allness and confession that we might be restored while we're losing out. We're not being occupied with Christ. We've lost something, and it's a serious thing. But if we walk in the Spirit, allow the Spirit of God to occupy with Christ people close to Christ.
And not fulfill the loss of the place.
And the next verse is for the flesh lusted against the spear and speared against the flesh. And these are contrary to one to the other, so that he cannot or should We may not do the things that you vote. Oh, how good of God has given us the Holy Spirit.
Be that restrained power in our lives we may not do the things that we would. Yes, we still have a natural man's flesh is still enough. Thank God, we're not in the flesh anymore. But the flesh is still enough. And we might see some terrible things but for the grace of God, but it will become terrorist must be careful. Let's watch out.
00:35:05
Never can tell what might happen.
My devil to read those verses as to the furthest spirit in that same chapter 5 of relations.
And these nine?
Fruit 9 falls through the Holy Spirit.
Can be born by a child of God, even though he's blood on his back and.
And do nothing perhaps but just.
Commune with the Lord in his heart. But the fruit of the Spirit is love. That's the first one on top of the list.
Love story and peace.
Then long-suffering, generous goodness, faith, meekness.
And they, their Christ, have crucified the flesh to the affections and lusts. If you live in the Spirit. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk.
In the spirit and let us not be desires of vain glory for working one another, ending one another.
So everything is the work of God.
New creation.
Legal use to bring all truth to God in the.
The first of the seasons are created with even sometimes darkness.
But now, are you lighting the World War? The children's life?
What we are we are children's life exhortation is false. So so here he says this don't stay there for I'm testifying the law upon count blocked will be considered listening.
Truth.
We have something that's in a way similar.
In John's crystal.
In John's official firstly, the message is for the children in the family of God.
But the way it's brought out in John's epistle is that we're stepped in an absolute.
State for children of God.
And.
To be that born of God does not commit sin absolute statement Hermes concerning the child of God well it's setting forth what he is as a child of God here in Ephesians it's set forth what we are members of the body of praise and.
What we are before God.
And we can't really.
Have a true exercise about these practical things that are brought out here if we don't realize what we actually are before God.
And I suppose in verse 20.
When it says, Would he have not so learned Christ?
But it isn't just, says the person of Christ isolated by himself, but isn't it Christ as head of the body?
They crashed and generally where you have the expression of each Christ, the Christ and the Church.
So it's the truth of what's been brought forth.
That is, it's far different from what he's Speaking of here, the way the Gentile.
The darkness and alienation from God.
Give not so alarming through Christ.
Is it possible or a believer to?
00:40:03
Experience verse 19 the past even.
Well, he can get through to us.
Second Peter One.
We've got a description of the First Timothy 4.
And the first.
2 verses in particular.
First Timothy 41 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly.
That in a latter time.
Some shall depart from the faith of giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils of demons speaking lies in apostrophe, having their conscience sears with a hot eye.
Would that be the professor there?
I thought it would be.
Apostate.
Departed from the faith, Yes, God man, go on a certain distance from that pastor, but the end of it is a thought. It goes on to stay there.
It's not a book of brethren. Remembrance of these things. God shall be good.
They, Jesus Christ, we wouldn't have them to see. Well, I won't go that far. Well, I can go along a certain way. I want to keep them out of that class in charge. If a believer got into that past where he'd be recovered, whether or not when it caused the end or would he wear on.
How far do you covered? I don't think you know French. It's not like scripture. First the second season.
Go pretty far there.
Each way as you mentioned those things getting diligent bad your face works and so I'm allowing the.
Eight verse. That these things being you in a power, they make you, that he shall neither be fair nor unfruitful in the knowledge of Lord Jesus Christ, but for the downward.
Night was cold, but he's like these things is blind.
Do not see a far off and have forgotten he was part of the gold standard work for the rather brother make your call, give diligence to make your calling election sure to do these things will never fail. So there believers looked at it fly generally that's the term to fly the unstable fly.
And cannot see a fire off his gaze of glimpses he appears in this life.
Being far off.
Couldn't have our eyes fixed upon the Lord and war if he couldn't see it far off, couldn't lift him down the scene. It's a sad picture and the one that says there he has forgotten that he was first from his old sins. He lost his joy.
Can't hold that through. I see forgiveness being furloughed. You just cannot hold it going along the world lost it be a lack of spirit for the summer. Yes.
I would turn the 1St Corinthians 11 to can be, not.
Those that have gone on in a bad course.
Some are weak and sickly moment, some are already asleep.
A lot of people were judging his father come in government.
But he gets something similar in the end of the third of Philippians, do you not?
17 first.
He followed together of me and mark them which walked towards we have us for an example.
There many will also whom I throw you off and now tell you even leaking that there are the enemies that thought of Christ, whose end with destruction. The daughter rebelling the floor is an ashamed mind. Earth is saved in our conversation and matter life in heaven.
00:45:05
The layers, of course.
That it ends in destruction.
Voices, as many walking my favorite often do not tell you weeping and the cross of Christ for ending the cross of Christ, I believe, is.
Seeking to avoid the persecution, so to speak, for the cross of Christ. We don't want that separation in the world or enemies out of it. Doesn't say you mean that they're apostate.
But they do not lock the path of separation.
Well, there's enemies across the top. Don't like that place to cross put you in?
Well, it goes on and the destruction you thought of the belly boys and shame ministry thing, there's the end of it. That is apostrophe. Well, I believe we may go along certain distances. Lord may not allow him to go.
Sure, I wouldn't mind go to complete way we may have taken away from the scene on countless stopping these course.
Religions, say, brought foot before the end of the court. What it leads to? Yeah, to exercise, to warn us.
Because when you get scriptures like this, it's put in such a way that one who's going on badly could not get any comfort out of it to make him feel that, well, everything's all at the end. No, God doesn't put it that way. He says it's not going to be all right in the age.
Second Peter 2 we've got.
The first 2 verses. Second Peter chapter 2 verses one and two.
Concern apostate teachers.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as it shall be false teachers among you who privilege.
Shall bring in Donovan Harris is even denying the Lord of Boston and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
The minister follow their permission place by reason of who the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of.
Earthquake would be a plot that she wouldn't, denying a larger part.
In the second verse, many shall follow a finicious ways.
Well, people may be attracted by perhaps the personality of the display of knowledge, and Peter mentioned there a great show of liberty and promise and certain things.
Well, that he would be attracted by that.
And reading from the way of truth to be far.
Works for darkness we have here with that I am the truth, he says.
But a few of his indeed. Was that what he was here?
Yes, I believe so quite striking how and playing first she's not so learned to fight on the 21St course and talked about him as the truth is in Jesus Christ the Lord and his humiliation fast as he tried to.
The thing we get in Second Corinthians chapter 4 isn't it.
Inviting to the Corinthians, the apostle has.
In mind they.
The truth of the body, remember in the body of Christ and what he brings before the Corinthians is presented in relationship to that fact that they're members of one body. Second, for instance, chapter 4.
00:50:06
Now verses 10 and 11.
All was bearing about his bodies to dying Jesus, but to achieve that the light also Jesus might be made manifest in our bodies.
We which live are already delivered on the death of Jesus sake, that the light off of Jesus might be made manifest in our moral flesh.
Change Pleasure.
Rather looking down here.
And when he saw his own son as a man in this scene.
He was completely satisfied with it, found the light in him. There was a light that pleased him. While he's not here anymore, Jesus has gone up on high.
But we're here, and so God is looking down to see that same wife manifested enough the life of Jesus as a man walking to this sea for what responsibility we have.
To manifest that life of Jesus will no doubt that's the reason that we have these things mentioned to you bearing about in the body of the dying of Jesus. He delivered unto death for Jesus sake. All of that is necessary.
Death to the Old South needs to be brought in that that life might have a chance.
To be lived out because it was not wrecking ourselves dead and we're not delivered to death.
Why we've gone in our own willful way and forget to manifest the life of human.
Let in the 22nd, 1St and she put off concerning the former climate station.
This translation is namely you're having for the law, according to the former conversation. The old man disrupts himself according to people.
So that is the position for God and put that off.
It's nice to see that.
Yeah. And so then being renewed in the spirit of your mind.
Truthful righteousness and boldness? Or is there some righteousness and wholeness of truth?
Fabulously positioned being removed where your mind.
Well, the.
Nothing speaks about our mind. There's a mind.
Really. Of the old man.
The floor is room.
Please, of course there does not have something said like that.
The second book, let's say.
1St girl speaks about being present our body for the living sacrifice and the second verse can be not informed of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mom to make sure what you said in perspective perfect little job from an action man is proud of his mind will a mind of man a wonderful thing.
That he's.
How the man can grasp many things, educating himself.
Self training of his mind but all have to do with his stairs to this world.
Polaris speaks about being removed.
Either the transformed by the renewing of the mind.
Well, the renewing of the mind.
You know that you are doing sick. So there's not the old mind of the old man, my man. Well, in that connection, of course, afflicting.
The six and seven.

Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and suffocation with Thanksgiving. Let her request be made known to God in the peace of God. The path of all understanding to keep your heart and mind through Christie. I believe that as they should hear us from your hearts and mild. I mean through the guard around. I might be guarded so.
Well, it's.
Being careful for nothing that is not burdening, weighed down by things.
Well, not to be Carol Caesar, but in everything by clear and suffocation with Thanksgiving, that's a request to be made known unto God, and there's by prayer and suffocation.
Willing now speak of them in the eighth verse process whatsoever.
Love and so on.
Then in the night where those things which you have both learned and received and heard and seen in the doom God of peace. Really.
Oh, you first have. And I say prayer and that.
Six verse and the peace of God being with long and then in the ninth verse those things that you have pulled from your seed and heard and seen and they do well. There was the apostles teaching in his life. I manifested it where you have prayer there and reading the word so you'll have a.
Keep your mind and heart through Christ Jesus.
And then God keeps community.
All this is thinking of the mind in that way.
The mind is a wonderful thing, but.
It has to be kept an exercise before the Lord.
Has been said according to the thing that you seem to mind.
And let the mind that.
Is the door to which statement is.
Largely, I believe so, yeah, that says.
Number one, tactics and tricks, the television, filthy literature in the home corrupt mine has mentioned the lust of the collection of the mind. Those are two things.
And flossing ponomia has members which are on earth would like to those who could carry out the lust of life. But then what about the mind?
Well, normally you know why.
People like to think a lot about the mind.
The people more like that.
Dollar in the third is the Colossians.
Second verse set your affection or the new translation is your mind on the things that you're above and you're getting your life God.
And try to use our life. So here should be also period in glory the mortify therefore your members which are on yours, who are coming in the luck of the flight.
Well, six first of which things take the rapid growth coming on now chilling with its defeated, but she also also walks sometime when you live in them, but now you cut off all these hang your *** mouth flashing Celtic communication out of your mouth. Why not want another seed throughout the old man disease, let alone is more the luck of the flight than not reason the other. I believe the of the mind, but.
A mile and the rest of all those things connected with that.
01:00:31
Yeah, and I don't believe that it's generally recognized in the world with man has fallen both in his body and his mind.
I may admit to something about the body that aren't what they ought to be, because I think the mind is a wonderful thing.
Man is totally depressing. Nothing totally so.
Well, there's the Spirit of God with temperatures here on the back.
Of something having been put off, something having been put on.
The former conversation, the old man.
Has been put off.
And a Newman.
Not a fixed up man old man, but a brand new man.
It's after gone created in righteousness and people. There's nothing wrong with that man.
That man is perfect. We have put him on.
And that's the way God looks at it, and that's the way we are seeing as members of the body of Christ.
And in another place.
We looked at the churches, looked at as one Newman. I don't know of that thought.
Is brought in here in verse 24 are not, but nevertheless has brought in an Ephesians in chapter two. That is one new mass, all the members linked with Christ.
And her that again is brought before.
Omega. See how contradictory would be.
To go back to the old thing.
The old man has been put off. Well, why go back to it and the Newman in Quran. Let's go on in a practical way there according to that that the new man has been put on until verse 25 says wherefore having put away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor. I dream that's the way to read or for having put away line. That is because the old man's been put off and the news has been put on.
That thing has been put away.
Now go on and speak the truth. Every man speaks the truth with his neighbor. All remembers one of another. God won't let us get away from this fact that remembers one of another members of that body and leads to Christ in glory. And I believe it has power if we keep that discourse continually.
For a neighbor, here is the sense of being Newman and Christie.
I forget the word creators brought in there.
That's what brought the horse in Second Corinthians.
And then you might be in faith. There's a new creation. Well, if he's in Christ, he's, he's part of that new creation. He's in a different creation altogether. He's in this creation that we're reading about here, Creator.
After God created in righteousness and to holiness and the difference we're all together.
Well, if we're in that fear, a new creation, Michael Bass of the old order of paper. And that's what the apostles pressing upon these occasions.
Also the two to put on together. That is the what he thought.
They come to this side. Truth. Hell.
And yet at the same time, a lot of the love is left.

Because you want to go on the side of the guard should put both feet in the canoe.
Don't try to do the other. Have a catastrophe.
How is it possible to be angry and?
Is that the right of indignation?
Tomorrow is the Lord out there that is if it was for the glory of the Lord and wasn't any personal glory connected with it by the cost of the angry and and hot but it's our own glory is mixed up in a thin space then it'll be the last part of the earth. It'll continue on then, won't it yeah let's let's not the sun go down upon your wrath well if it's.
If it's gotten hold of us and we've gotten worked up in the flesh.
Well, no doubt in one till after sun goes down.
Yet someone implied that let's not be Thunder down upon the wrath of comparing it to Jaisha held the son up. Always keep fighting, but I don't believe that it's suspense to the plastic here.

No anger without sin would be supposed in the sense of judging or something. And as soon as you have judged it, you're through with it. You don't go on thinking about it.
Don't we have an illustration of the Lord Jesus Temple?
Or return the tables of the money changers.

You give place to the devil.
Well, the devil will intrude himself in wherever he cast.
And even when we sit here talking about the blessed proof of being members of the body of Christ, Christ the head.
Feel still bright and fruit himself in.
And we're no match for safe Norway.
We're no match for him at all. We're not. We're not to be like some who seem to take up a cause of of fighting the devil. They're always fighting the devil.
Well.
Were to resist the devil, but what comes before that submit yourselves to God and just the devil and he will flee from so we mustn't forget that side of and the man goes to this devil and you don't strength he's going to be defeated.
We had 6000 years of experiences, man.
Don't you have your brother in this? Well, what we've been speaking by being angry and still not that what it is the glory of God involved there is that holy anger.
And it is to be one. The matter, whatever it is, is subtle to the glory of God, and the anger ceases.
But isn't also a warning here that we're not to Passover, these things to Passover and say, well, I'm going to let it go. I'm not going to get angry about that. That's giving place to the devil.
The devil has brought an evil.
It's not a good place to go.
For the education is to be angry, I said. No connection made.

But we are not ignorant of these devices.
Absolutely the other side of it, isn't it?
That is, this one has been had to be dealt with. Well, there's repentance then. Then there should be the forgiveness restoration because faith has been taken advantage of a deeper way.
Tired of being angry with evil military if you.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
Speaking of much yesterday.
That would be nice to go on with you.
Well, I believe there's something very suitable.
00:05:02
In these last three songs.
And there's much.
Good minister there. Perhaps it could be linked up with some things in the New Testament, I was thinking.
A little bit about John chapter 4 where we have worship.
Brought in, and that's really what we get in the last very end of this series of songs, getting into the presence of the Lord, the worship.
But there are things that go on before that exercise in the soul that people must go through before they get to that place. And so I believe it's it's very suitable from from that standpoint.
Psalm 132.
Lord, remember David and all his afflictions, how we swear unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob. Surely I will not come into the Tabernacle of my house, nor to go up into my bed. I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to mine eyelids until I find out a place for the Lord and habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
Lo, we've heard of it at Africa.
We found it in the fields of the wood. We will go into His Tabernacle. We will worship at His footstool. Arise, O Lord, into thy rest, thou in the ark of thy strength. Let thy priest be clothed with righteousness, and let thy sink shout for joy for thy servant David's sake. Turn not away the face of thine anointed. The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David. He will not turn from.
Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
If my children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne forevermore. For the Lord hath chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation. This is my rest. Forever Here will I dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe a priest with salvation.
And her Saints shall, shall allow for joy. There will I make the horn of David to God. I have ordained a lamp for mine. Anointed his enemies will I clothe with shame, But upon himself shall his crown flourish. Psalm 133. Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. It is like the precious ointment upon the head.
That ran down upon the pier, even Aaron's feared, that went down to the skirts of his garments, as a view of Herman, and as a view that descended upon the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore. Psalm 134. Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the House of the Lord.
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord, the Lord that made heaven and earth bless thee out of sight.
Isn't it thought that this 132nd Psalm of Solomon's?
Yes.
A fact part of it is quoted. He quotes part of it in his prayer.
There it refers, no doubt, to the exercises that David passed through in regard to the bringing of the Ark of Jerusalem.
What some uses though?
Well, it says, remember David in all his afflictions David passed through.
00:10:01
Afflictions for many years.
When shortly after his slaying of life.
He was brought into a Saul's household.
Because of his name and spirit and Lord upon him on account of his ways, and they will display the heart before you and the Lord honored it in the even spirit left him, but he had to be dependent upon this youth, so to speak, that could play that part well. We know that David was mentioned. Samuel mentioned him to.
So not by name, for David wasn't born yet, but he was going to raise up a man after God's own heart. Well, we can see, I think, in the exercise he passed through here, why he was a man after God's own heart.
In the 69th Psalm.
Aida David's exercises.
When I have birth, we know it's prophetic.
A large himself. And when the Lord went into the temple to drive out the money changers and merchandisers, the disciples remembered this Scripture. For the zeal of thine house had eaten me up, and the reproaches of them that reproach fear fallen upon me.
The thine house had eaten me up. Oh, I believe David for speaking this out of his own experience, but it became a prophetic thing.
Well, the fact that they were just himself was that one of the reasons he could be called a man after God's own heart. He lived in South Denver. Yes, he always turned to the Lord and he missed his failures. But here we see something, though that was long before that, and it's very remarkable here.
Speaks about his afflictions.
Well, we know that he was anointed a king very early in his life. He was just for a youth, just in his teens probably.
Well, that was shortly after that, but he was sent down there at the army.
And of course, I believe he'd been called Saul's house before that, but he went down there and there he met Goliath. Well, he was not allowed to return to his home very much after that. But here he speaks of some exercises that he passed through before that says how he swear unto the Lord.
And vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob, Surely I'll not come into the Tabernacle of my house when I grow up in my bed.
All that gives sleep in my eyes and slumber to my eyelids until I find out a place for the Lord. Habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
Well, it seems to me that that I'll lose to the great exercise that his parents had, and so they spoke of it.
In his youth, and it must have been.
The four probably he was anointed king and may have been after that. This would seem to be that when he realized that he was to be king, he made this oath before the Lord. But long before that though his parents had mourned overly state of things in Israel.
That's the Ark had never been returned to its place in the Tabernacle.
So he says here.
We heard of it at Ephrata. We found it in the fields of wood. Well Efforta, that's especially him. Africa that is. It was his home place. We heard of it there, he said.
Well, that's very.
Instructive and encouraging the parents.
And here his parents were Speaking of these things.
Concerning the condition of things in Israel, they were mourning over it. Well, David was just a boy when you heard of that, but.
00:15:06
It never left him.
And so it says here you swear unto mighty God of Jacob. Well, you know David did have.
The Lord before him, why when he went down there to the.
Army. That time his father sent him down and he heard Goliath challenging them. Why he says, who is this?
Well, he was challenging the armies of the living God. That's the way David looked upon it.
Wasn't the armies of Israel, but the armies, the living God and all this. It was really the zeal of the Lord's house eating him up.
What he says here in passing through this great exercise.
I'll not come into the Tabernacle of my house or go up into my bed. I'd like to sleep in my eyelids or slung, see through my eyes or slumber to my eyelids until I find out. A place for the Lord, a habitation for the mighty God. Jacob. Well, his parents felt the condition of things there.
That that time that the ark was taken by the two wicked sons of Eli into the camp, they were treating it just like an idol. Why they was going to take it in there that it might save them serving their enemies. It was treating it like an idol. Oh, Lord, wouldn't allow that for those two wicked men to take it like that. And so the Philistines captured it. Well, I think you mentioned before, they couldn't hold it.
It was a burden to them.
Like woken up groups and later they it'll be a troublesome stone and it surely was troublesome to them. They were glad to get rid of it and when they sent it back, they sent it back in a way that took the.
Over ruling hand of God because of go back they put it on a cart. A new cart it was.
And they put 2 milk cows to take it back and they shut up their calves at home.
Well.
Those cows wouldn't normally go away under those circumstances, but they did lowing as they went, just like they were compelled to go. They didn't want to go, but they did, and they took it back to the land of Israel. Well.
It never was returned.
To the Tabernacle.
Oh, when it first came back, you know, some of them out of curiosity looked in it. And then if they had the chasing hand of the Lord, he wouldn't stand for that curiosity there being satisfied. So when in a man's house, well, it was in that condition, I think somewhere between 80 and 100 years before this time when David brought from Jerusalem.
So.
He had this oath before him.
Evidently, say when he was apparently when he was anointed king as a youth, he thought of this, Oh, now that's one thing I'm going to do. I'm going to find out a habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
He doesn't here speak of it in this instance as the ark. Well, the ark was a symbol of the presence of Jehovah. He dwelt.
Between the cherubims, that's what's spoken of, and so that's what David here speaks of it as a habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
Well, it was a huge state of things. There was the ritual going on at the Tabernacle.
And.
All that kind of thing. But the ark wasn't there. Well, they couldn't carry out all that. Ritual was part of it. Day of Atonement concerned the art, but there it was. It was a separation. There was a an order of worship.
A ritual.
But the.
The one who really should have been the object of that rat Julie's place wasn't there.
00:20:05
Well.
Sometimes that makes us think of conditions impressing them.
There may be a ritual, but have there been concerned about the presence of the Lord?
You know, at the time of the Reformation, a great deal was made of the Bible. Getting the Bible to the people, well, that was a wonderful thing. It was a wonderful boom, we might say, to the people to get the Scriptures in their own language. What a great deal was made of the Bible, Nothing but the Bible. But I don't think you find much said about the Spirit of God, the one who could make it good to his people.
Well, the Lord overruled and he certainly blessed all that ministry and.
Getting the Bible and the language of the people and thinking how it was done is the cost of men's lives. Many men lost their lives because they wanted to put the scriptures in the land of people.
So here was this exercise that they were. It's beautiful to see it that is a youth only had this before it.
He realized that as king, he would be responsible for.
I see when the children of Israel had been delivered from Egypt and saved from their enemies, than it was that they spoke of the habitation of God, a place where they were to worship. I was looking at Exodus chapter 15.
Verse 13.
Thou and thy mercy hath LED forth the people which thou hast redeemed.
Thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation. Well, they actually weren't there yet, but to them and to faith it was a reality.
And then in verse 17, it says thou shalt bring them in and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance in the place, O Lord, for thou hast made for thee to dwell in in the sanctuary, O Lord, which by hand have established, looking for the sanctuary. Well, that's that's the normal thing according to God, according to his word. But as soon as we're saved and delivered.
Then we want to find the place to serve God, to worship.
And.
Great answers to David's exercises here. Why did he want to find a place for the Lord? And why did he want to find that habitation? What was it that was in his heart to give him that desire? Well, David loved the Lord, and he wanted to worship him.
All his parents have no man brought the word of God before him and get it exercised. His heart then became a burden to him. Isn't that scripture you referred to on the 15th of Exodus? The first time it's spoken of is God dwelling in the midst of His people. He'd gone on with the patriarchs in times past as individuals, but here now I love as soon as the people are redeemed out of Egypt.
Why? Here's a song of victory at the Red Sea in the speak box. The habitation of God place for him to dwell.
All the place the Lord loves today is in the assembly. Isn't it indeed of it in Ephesians that the assemblies the habitation of God through the Spirit? Well, why? Well, He loves to dwell with His people, and when He's in our midst like He was this morning, He's the object of our worship adoration.
It has been said in connection with David.
That we get more of and deep exercises of soul with him in first Samuel, then we get in Second Samuel. That is those years that he was fleeing from Saul. He was in deep exercise and the Lord protected him.
00:25:19
Well, actually got to be king. We don't find that so much. But here, of course, he, he had just, he was speaking here of being king. And we find the historically that this was the first thing he did when he became king over all Israel. He was first king in all over Judah, but the House of Saul kept all the other tribes away from him.
And he was six years there in Hebrew.
Well then finally by all Israel came united king.
Well, this is the way you find the first recorded thing he did after King King over all Israel. That is, he could now go to the place where the ark was, and he could bring it to drizzle.
Well, we were saying yesterday in the 78th Psalm why the Lord did not intend to restore it back to Shiloh. What's it happen that they had been moved, the Tabernacle had been moved from Charlotte. Apparently they found something was lacking and so they may have tried different places. It would seem like that, but the Lord tells us for such shadow. So on account of the wickedness, the way they were going on.
And he chose Mount Zion. What? Apparently David didn't know about Mount Zion when he brought there. He had to learn that later.
So, well, the first thing that he did and became king, well of course from the historical record, why we find that he first went about it in a far away that is a human way.
And.
He provided a new cart for it and he was going to bring it to Jerusalem.
Well.
Salvation all the oxygen, stop moving yourself without his hand to steady it, and Lawrence bought him.
We're doing that well. David was afraid he was displayed, but he dare not take it any farther. He had to get before the Lord again and bother.
Without doing the right thing in the wrong way.
Yes, yes. Well, oftentimes when we may be passing through great exercise, and especially in our youth, why there may be sometimes certain things the right thing exercises, but we may do it in the energy of the natural man we are without knowledge. Yes.
So David then got before the Lord, and then he finally said, well, the Levites ought to carry the ark.
Well, I don't doubt in human reason why he could think of that art being heavy. And it was an uphill journey to roll to Jerusalem. So it was a rough journey.
But he probably wanted to say the matter. That's human reasoning. But he found out though, that that wasn't the Lord, that the Levites should carry the ark. And so when he did that.
And the Levites were in their proper place, but in the Lord blessed.
In a certain sense that.
During the right thing and wrong way is a picture of what we have in modernism today. They're trying to fix up new carts, new councils. Well, a great deal of love is, yes, carry on God's work in man's way.
Of course, oftentimes God's people have exercise and they do things in man's way. And then oftentimes you may have those that are that are not the Lords, while they have their own ideas too about certain things. And we see that in these translations of the Scriptures. Well, to me, that's just the plus. Ends up then in his land, taking away the children's food.
00:30:03
It's interesting to notice here and they were bringing up the ARC. First of all, they consulted not with the Greeks, the leave right to consult him with the captain's, the military forces.
I want to do things in awkward grand way.
We found out later to consult with those who were in the service of the Tabernacle Levites.
None but the Levites should bring up the art.
These things that we've been Speaking of can be read about from The First Chronicles 13/14/15.
Admires these helpful friendly that would like to read them to know where it is.
Well then, in that 6 verses we heard of it at Ephrata. That was his home place where he had been brought up.
He had heard of it there. He says we found it in the fields of wood. Well, I believe there's a nobleman new translation there that that's a poetic expression for finding it in a totally neglected state. And I believe that David says when he first.
Spoke of Gideon, he says. We sought it not in the days of Saul.
That in the days of Saul there was number exercise about there was that 40 years during the rain of salt all there was no exercise about this state of disorder.
So he felt that well, it's nice, I say, to see his inward thoughts and feelings about this thing which is so dear to the heart of the Lord.
There's one thing about the Psalms.
They are means of giving expression to exercises of soul.
And I suppose when the brethren began to.
Leave the different systems about 135 years ago or so.
They were going through deep exercises and no doubt they were able to give expression to their exercises in the words of these psalms that we've just been reading. And I believe that's the value in these psalms. We're able to find our own exercises of soul here, and these words can be used to help us give expression to them. And well, it's because.
There the exercises of David and others that may have written these songs are similar to the exercises that we can go through because this thing is connected with the principles of God and the principles of God don't change from dispensation to dispensation and.
God Center doesn't change here for for the Jews.
The center of attraction will be the Messiah. For us, it's the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior, the same person.
Yes, you're speaking about exercising the Psalms and the Psalms we have exercises. Let the Lord pass through that. We do not get the New Testament, but shows.
The deep distress that he passed through and.
Even in contemplation of the cross, well, like the exercises in the.
In the 22nd Psalm.
Or Islam and get his exercise in the 16th psalms through his pathway.
Well, those are things that are not brought before us in the New Testament.
Well, I'm in this 7th course.
We will go into His tabernacles. We will worship at His footstool.
Let's start. How nice that is. We will go into his tabernacles. We will worship at his footstool. When it comes to worship, why David associates himself with all the people, He doesn't take a place of fault. We will go into his Tabernacle. We will worship these kutzp. One has thought about that and what Peter says, you know.
00:35:20
About those who obtained like precious faith.
He puts himself down on a level with the simplest belief, those obtained like precious faith.
Well, that isn't at all like those who claim to have Peter's place now. They don't put themselves down on a level with the simplest believers.
This is the collective aspect being brought out here again, isn't it? We, yes, and 1St part of the Psalm. It's I.
Well, we might say in connection with David bringing the ark of Jerusalem, you know, he wanted to build a house for the Lord. He wanted to build a house.
But the Lord told him no, he wasn't above the house. He had been a man of war, a man shed much blood.
Yet though he was a man after God's own heart, why God would not permit him, because of that fact, to build him a house?
But he says your son can do it.
If we are in the good of what we're doing, Lord's Day morning when we come together for the breaking of bread.
We'll realize that we're on collective ground and we're together for worship.
But we're worshiping on the ground of what that loaf stands for. The loaf is a symbol of the of the one body looking at it in the one way. And we've come together to worship the Lord, to remember him on the ground of the one body, on collective ground. And if we know what we're doing.
We are including the whole Church of God. We're not looking at ourselves as a little company apart. I'm not looking at ourselves as a sect or denomination, but we're looking at ourselves simply as part of the whole Church of God. And we're contemplating every member of the body of Christ when we come together if we're doing it.
With the knowledge of Scripture, the Scripture knowledge that we ought to have, and so actually the worship is.
Collective worship and we're thinking of all the children of God and wish that all in the place were there with us.
But that's really his objective here. That's collected too. Now. Israel then uses the word we after that.
Well then when David brings that there and he says we will go into his tabernacles, he will worship with his footstool, and then he says.
Arise, O Lord, into thy rest, thou and the ark of thy strength, Thy speaks of the Arkansas.
Arise, O Lord, into thy rest, thou on the ark of thy strength. Well, it's nice to see the way he speaks of that He calls upon the Lord to.
Enter into his rest.
Well, we think of what a privilege it is to be gathered around our blessed Lord, and it is a privilege. But here it speaks out from God's standpoint, thy rest, that God desires to be there too.
To be in the midst of these people.
The first seven will bring the course of determination and humiliation. We will.
Little worship and then 122nd of Psalm the 1St 2 verses.
And express I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the House of the Lord, Our feet shall stand within thy gates of Jerusalem.
Reminders of our responsibility and people 1025 now not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as a matter of some is but exhorting one another and so much remorse to see that they approach it.
00:40:10
There is a lot of independency these days.
But God's principle is together.
Well, our brother Anderson referred to the 4th of John.
You know the woman, she said she knew when the Messiah come if you tell us all things, but she had no claim on the Messiah as Messiah.
But then the Lord has to tell her ye worship ye know not what. Well, really their worship what the Samaritans were Bill England, their pretense of having a mount Garrison and I take it that was where the 10 tribes worshipped. And he says ye worship. You know, my plot quote was really demon worship there. The Lord wasn't ever called.
But salvation is a Jew. But then he takes her arm to where she could have a part. The hour comes. Now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth, and the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Well, there, he tells her a place she could be. She could claim that place.
And the Father seeketh such the worship in his desire.
But it wasn't in Mount Garrison or wasn't in Jerusalem.
But it was those who would worship him in spirit and in truth.
And you know, worship is connected with a spirit that is, I don't mean.
An external spirit, I'm not talking about that, but the spirit, the state of salt in spirit and in truth. He's a spirit, while we have to be of a kindred spirit, we might say, to worship, you know.
I remember.
The speaker of his older brother who is now home with the Lord, he made a very significant statement which I've often used and passed on to Brother Smith, that she took down the delivery within.
This is the substance of it, correct? There are many Saints of God who worship the Lord individually at man's table and comparative with huge states of God. And this is done that worship the Lord corporately at the Lord's state. Is that right? Yes, I believe that's right.
When David in his prayer here, he says, Let thy priest be clothed with righteousness, and let thy sink shop with joy.
He may have been referring back to Eli's time when his sons were going on so wickedly there wasn't any righteousness there and the Saints were burdened about the condition of things. So he says, let thy priest be clothed with righteousness. That is the opposite of what Eli's sons were.
And thy Saints shop for joy, no longer mourning over that condition of things, but they would shout for joy. Well, it's nice to see.
How the Lord answers that prayer thee once we get that later on.
Course before, before we get the answer, says, For thy servants David's sake, turn not away the the face of thine anointed. The Lord had promised him of his descendants there would be some to sit upon the throne. Well, David may have had his misgivings as to how they might go on. So he says, Turn not away the face of thine anointed.
Well now we cannot say as to how we are going to go on. There is a verse in the in Second Corinthians, the 1St chapter.
Where he says, I write unto you none other things than that but ye know or acknowledge.
And I trust ye shall acknowledge even here we are this afternoon.
There are certain things we know and acknowledge the truth, but we couldn't, Mr. Platt, and might not be. So a year from now. Something could come in, get between us in the morning, clouds might cover, so to speak. Get between the moon and the sun.
00:45:20
And if the earth gets between the moon and the sun, why it makes it dark?
The 1St I believe so.
So well then.
The Lord answers in the 11Th verse. The Lord has sworn in truth unto David.
He will not turn from it. The fruit of thy body I'll set upon thy throne. Thy children keep my covenant, my testimony that I should teach them. Their children shall also sit upon thy throne forevermore.
And then he says there the Lord hath chosen Zion, Zion with that particular part of Jerusalem that we were speaking about, where Mount Moriah where there was the Jebusite. And so over that Jebusites farm that the destroying Angel was arrested. And the prophet David Nathan told David I believe, or Maven Gaz told him, go build an Alder there.
It wasn't Davidde choice. All the gadgets, you go build an order there. And he did. Well that became the Mount Simon place where the temple was to be built.
So it says the Lord has chosen time. He has desired it.
For his habitation, here we get the word habitation. This is my rest forever. Here will I dwell, for I have desired it. So the Lord answers him and says, This is my rest.
Here will I dwell, for I have desired it.
While they would recognize that it is a rest for the Lord to be there in, the Lord says yes.
He relied, well, this is my rest forever.
That's the only place you can rest because as we were saying yesterday, Zion speaks of grace. It's the speaks of the purposes of God in grace. And I'd like to read the verse from Zephaniah, the third chapter.
Here we have.
The Lord Speaking of rest.
Jeff and I are three and 17.
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty.
He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy. He will rest in his love. He will joy over thee with singing.
Grace has come in and wrought, and.
In the coming days, God's earthly people, Israel, will be established and it will be only by sovereign grace. And that is the reason that God will be able to rest in it. If it's going to be on the ground of man, what man? God couldn't restroom that because it's imperfect. But what God does is perfect, and that's why He can rest in it all. What His love does, what His grace does, that's what he can rest in, and that's what we can rest into.
The Lord has never committed anything to man and in which there has not been failed. So it rests on man why there's failure connected with it. He couldn't have his rest there, but it's what His son has done. He can rest in that.
Just going to say that to you 1St of May I referred to we might call attention to fact the previous verse connected with Zion.
Direct connection with Zion is versus you're given to us.
In connection with that seventh verse.
For the night birth of 132nd song and we have a word on that verse in Isaiah 11/5.
00:50:00
Regarding the righteousness.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of loin, and faithfulness that girdle of Israel.
There.
Lauren was heard about with cruising.
Righteousness.
Well, the Lord is to reign in righteousness. I will characterize his reign. It's often been said that righteousness suffers. Now we we cannot expect to find righteousness in this world.
Righteousness suffers. The Lord allows man to go on here, but there's a day coming when He will judge this world in righteousness. And so in the Millennium He will be reigning in righteousness in the eternal state. It tells us righteousness. Well, there's no evil there to put down.
So the world is looking for someone who will do things the way they should be done, but they won't find it until the Lord himself takes over.
You know.
In isn't it in the is it the 21St of Luke or he moans over Jerusalem?
No 19th.
The 41St 1St.
And when he was come near, he beheld the city and wept over it, saying, If thou hast known even thou at least in this thy day the things which belong, and thy peace. But now they are hid from thine eyes, for that they shall come upon me, and thine enemy shall cast a trench about the incumbency round about, and keep thee in on every side.
Well, there he beheld the city, and he mourned over.
Any sorrow that they hadn't known for the things that made for their peace. He was a Prince of Peace. They rejected him.
And so he says, these things are hidden from mine eyes. Well.
For the peace of this world and the whole day like to talk about peace long part, but it cannot be had apart from giving the Lord His place.
It cannot be brought about by men.
But when the Lord gets His place, then we have blessed results. And isn't that what we have in verse 15? Here I will abundantly bless the provision. I will satisfy the poor with thread.
Yes, I don't know that David and his prayer asked for that, but the Lord volunteers it. He will abundantly bless her provision, satisfy our pool with bread. There wouldn't be really any force, so to speak, in that day. And then he says, I will also clothe her priest with salvation.
Was not alone righteousness, but be salvation. That is, he goes beyond what David requested and then he says her St. shall shout aloud for joy. It wouldn't merely shout.
But they shout aloud.
That's a little different from the shout that they shouted when the Ark came into the camp when they were fighting with the Philistines. And that was what we might say, a shout in the flesh and trusting in what they could do and using the Ark simply as sort of an idol.
For this is the real, the real shout of praise. Yes, this is a time like we read in the 110 Psalm, Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power. It will not be.
In.
That of human strength. Thy people shall be willing to have a willing heart within them.
You know it is said that.
In connection, I believe it's not 78 Psalm that they turned back. They were like a broken ball that, well, you know, if a warrior was using the bow and arrow and he pulled it back and the bow broke in his hands, well that'd be disaster. Well, that's what his people did in days of old. They were that kind. Well, they won't do that.
00:55:19
In the day to come.
Well, then we get the promises to David as to his family.
And he says he will make the horn of David the bud that is there would be the.
Growth. They're sprouting.
It's of course we know the House of David is suffering at the present time and unbelief.
But there's time coming when the Lord is going to raise it up again all.
Then he says I have ordained a lamp for my reminded.
What is your significant form?
I believe Jen Liam Horn means power and the power was granted to the House of David but.
There was a time that the Lord had taken away, you know, and when they were carried captive to Babylon and.
While they returned and the remnant.
And there was one of the royal family carried them back, but they never had a king really in their own right.
While the time is coming over and that will be and that's what I think this is referring to.
And then he says his enemies will I clothe with shame.
But on himself, should his crown flourish, all there be nothing. Stand before him then.
Well, the blessing begins.
In Psalm 132, and it continues on 133.
Yes.
Well, it speaks about here how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to all together in unity. It doesn't say young young, it says youngty.
There's a difference between union and unity.
We have in our country here a union of states, but that doesn't mean that all have the same purpose of art. They're younger, but it's an outward unity. There may be a lot of striving within and all that kind of thing. Well, unity, though, is that which is brought about by the Lord, and it comes here.
From the fact, I believe that the Lord has been given His true place in their midst. We cannot get unity without that.
That is, David gave the Lord his true place.
The Lord's place among his people had been neglected.
While David says it, we found that electricity was totally neglected. So he brings it there to Jerusalem and gives the Lord his two placed the meds to his people well there. There cannot be this unity without that.
In Ephesians 2, we get there where the Spirit of God brings the people of God together. Well, that's the operation, the Spirit of God. We have it also in the 12Th of First Corinthians by 1 Spirit. We all baptize into one body. Well, that's not something that man's told to do. It's the operation of the Spirit of God. We should recognize it. We should.
Abide to it.
Well, you hear a lot these days about unions.
And of one form or another. But it's not proposed to be a unity of the spirit. Oh no, it's to be.
Just a getting together and forgetting the differences most self judgment no seeking to find by the scriptures what is according to his mind are not all that doesn't enter into it. Just get together. It shouldn't be separated.
01:00:02
Well.
That is not what's spoken of here. This is something that we cannot produce.
Except we get down our knees and.
Self judgment before the war.
Commander.
Are likened to another put it like taking a half a dozen cats and tying the tail for you. You've got a union. You can throw them off her clothes and I'm showing her unity there. But that's something that counts as life rather than just like just that, right? Yes. There's no stuff. There's all of that.
There is no searching the scriptures see what is according to his mind.
Well hereafter giving the Lord his true place, then he can speak about the shunty. Well in the affordable Ephesians, why we have endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit uniting bond of peace.
It is in recognition of what the Spirit of God has done. So now we are the endeavor to keep a uniting bond of peace. We're not introduced things bring in controversy or to show how much we know or anything like that that brings in discord.
In these unions.
That are being formed today and there will be one great union finally, the phosphate church. But it's one thing sure that Christ is not going to be the center of it. He's not going to be considered at all. But even with the the farming of Israel again into one nation, one unit that will have to be something centered around the Lord too. And the Lord will have to do it over in Ezekiel 37.
We read about the.
The two sticks.
But to be taken, we joined together.
Verse 16. Moral without son of Man 51. Stick and right upon it for Judah, and for the children of Israel his companion. Then take another stick, and write upon it for Joseph the stick of Ephraim, and for all the House of Israel his companions, and join them one to another into one stick. They shall become one inviting. 10.
Then in verse 19, after he's asked what this means, he says, say unto them thus that the Lord God, behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim and the tribes of Israel spouse, and put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. That's the Lord's word. It's not man's word, even with Israel.
It'll have to be the Lord's work, and so was the church. It's the Lord's work.
In the third afflictions we have something said there about.
The question is though, being of one mind.
The 15th 1St.
Let us therefore as many as be perfect, be thus minded, and if anything you'd be otherwise minded. God's reveal even this unto you nevertheless.
Whereto we have already attained, Let us walk for the same rule, Let us mind the same thing. That is, there may be things and there are things where we're not exactly 1 mind. This is born together.
And let's walk by the same rule. Well, we have, you know, the Lord is our object. That one Lord is mentioned there in Ephesians. We have the word of God.
Same.
And we have the Spirit of God as our teacher.
So he says there, if you be in anything otherwise minded, God should reveal even this unto you and the Lord before you.
Why he'll bring you into this common thoughts concerning himself.
Well, when the results of this walk in the second verse.
It is like the precious ointment on the head that ran down on the beard. Even Aaron's beard that went down the skirts was farming.
01:05:08
It refers us back to the anointing of aeronauts by priest.
Well, there was a special anointing oil that they were not allowed to use for any other purpose. A special anointing oil.
Which they were given the farm in the car.
But they could not use it for any other purpose, and so it speaks here about the precious ointment.
On the head of error.
Well, one is like, think of that the first thing, so to speak. And of course, you know, the Scripture speaks of us being anointed with the Spirit of God.
We have an anointing. It tells us where John Two speaks about, spoken about elsewhere.
Well, the first thing that does, so to speak, is control of thoughts, the innermost part of our being, our thoughts upon the head. Then it says it ran down upon the fear of even air, Fear.
Well, I believe that speaks of controlling our speech.
What we say.
What, so to speak, comes out of the heart so.
Then it says it went down to the skirts of his garments.
Well, the environment speaks in ways.
And so trolls our thoughts, our speech, our ways.
One is often thought about buying Bartemish and all when he called for the Lord.
Called for him. The Lord is in the multitude there, and here he was a blind beggar, and he calls to him, and the Lord stops.
And they tried to keep him quiet, of course, keep cartoon this quiet, but he wasn't. And so they say, arise, he called for thee. Well.
He heard the voice of the Lord calling him and says he cast him away his garment. He went to Jesus.
Well, he knew that that old beggar requirement was not suitable for his standing in the presence of Jesus, so he cast it away. Well, in a way that's.
The position we are when the Lord calls us, we have a weak and beggarly things of this world clinging to us, but the moment we know that we have to meet the Lord while those things have no place at all.
Cast them away and go through Jesus.
And the Lord wants to know what to do for him or he. He wanted his side healed.
So the Lord healed his sight.
And then he told him to go his way.
But he Bartimaeus, he didn't go his way. He followed Jesus in the way. He had then patients operating in his soul. He was one who was born again. He didn't have a desire to go away from Jesus. He is desire was the quality and so he followed Jesus in the way.
To follow up the thought of unity and for us, the thought of the one body, that we're one body.
This argument flows over the whole body, which is part of it, but the whole and.
We should all be going on in the power of the Spirit. We have, we have divine light, but we have the Spirit to lose the power of that light. And we should be exercised about being under the control of the Spirit, not to walk in the flesh, but walk in the Spirit.
Well, there was one accompaniment of this anointing. It was a very fragrant anointing. So when they were increased was anointed with its oil and there was a fragrance going up to the Lord. And so when the Spirit of God.
01:10:00
Has that power over us where the Lord's glory is recognized and there's a desire to go on according to his word, independence upon him. They'll be afraid that's going up to him. I just fix up. Well, then in the next verse we speak of God, thanks or something coming down.
God will not be man better.
And one is often thought about.
Some men of the Lord picked up, and who had this desire to honor him?
As the one who was the head of the church.
Nothing in between.
Why? That was their sole desire. They didn't know much else.
But they wanted to give him that place.
And so that desire so wrought upon them, that there was the equivalent of this anointing here, and this fragrance ascending to him out of their lives. Well, the Lord picked up some mighty men that time, men of of wealth and education, mean of all means of one thing or another, and that meant nothing to him.
Well, there was a fragrance going up to the Lord. It was manifest in their ways and it's something like we had here in.
Back in that 126 Psalm that says the heathens say.
The Lord has done great things for that.
Yes, then, said they among the He and the Lord hath done great things for them.
So that was seen.
Well, we've said that they didn't have much knowledge as to the scripture, the.
Dispensational truth or the rightly dividing of the word. They didn't know that their great desire was honor the Lord and give Him His true place. Well, you know, oftentimes we may have an exercise about a certain step and we want to know about the maybe the third and fourth steps or the 10th step. Well, the Lord gives the light for each step at a time.
And so the Lord blessed that.
Too, that's what says here as a few of farming as a dew descended upon the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord has commanded blessing, even like forevermore.
Well, there was Herman, one of the loftiest mountains there in Palestine.
And it's looked at here as one that is above the other mountains. And so it says as the dew of Herman, here's something coming down. Who comes down?
And it descended upon the mountains inside.
It disseminated this blessing.
Well the Lord honored that desire. I believe and part of those who sacrifice self in every way and give the Lord his place. He gave them blessing and open the scriptures to.
And we had those open scriptures today.
He opened up troops that have been lost sight of since the days of the apostle.
By the coming of the Lord for the Church.
Who has lost sight of immediately after the day of the apostles?
The assurance of soul salvation was lost sight of two and the heavenly calling of the church that was lost sight of two. The church was like the.
Young man there in the 20th of Acts that fell asleep under the Apostle Paul's preaching. He fell down from the third loft down to ground. Well, that was the way it really typical of what the church did. It went asleep under the Apostle Paul's preaching.
Well, the brother once said the Apostle Paul went down there and through his arms around while it said through the warmth, the love, the Apostle Paul, he was restored and so.
Psalms 122-124
Psalms 125-131
Psalms 132-134
