Little Patsy

Patsy was just five years old, but——she had been coining to our Sun- day School for some time, and she loved to hear the Bible stories. She listened very intently when the teacher told that all the boys and girls were sinners, and "must have their sins washed away in the precious blood of Christ if they wished to enter heaven. We believe that Patsy trusted in the Lord Jesus for herself.
After Sunday School one day she came back again to say goodby to her teacher, whom she loved very dearly, Twice more she did this, much to everyone's surprise.
The following Tuesday evening it was a shock to her teacher to hear that Patsy had been burned to death that morning. Her mother had taken her out shopping, but Patsy's clothes were very thin and she began to shiver with the cold. She begged her mother to take her home again, and so she did, warning her not to touch the stove, while she hurried away to do her shopping alone. Patsy soon tired of being still, and took a piece of paper out of the stove. Her clothes caught fire, and almost immediately she was a mass of flames. When help arrived it was too late — Patsy died from her awful burns.
When we visited her mother she told us how much Patsy enjoyed coming to Sunday School, and that every night when she went to bed she would not go to sleep until she sang "Jesus Loves Me." We really believe that Patsy had trusted Jesus as her Saviour, and that she is now with the One who loved her so much He suffered on Calvary's cross for her sins.
God's Word says, "Thou knowest not what a day may bring forth" (Proverbs 27: J.) , and so now, while you still have the opportunity, take the Lord Jesus as your Saviour. Tomorrow may be too late!
