Few statements in Scripture are as heart-stopping as this one. This is final. The door to the marriage feast was SHUT. It was not openable. There was no way to get in once the door was closed. Much as the final closing and locking of the airplane door signals that it is time to leave and no more can get on board, so the final closing of heaven’s door will be an awful sound to those who are outside.
