What woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not  .  .  . sweep  .  .  .  and seek diligently till she find it?
The eastern woman received a headband of silver as part of her wedding dowry. On that headband were ten pieces of silver. It was very precious to her. No wonder, then, that when she lost one of the pieces, she made diligent search until she found it. It would be like today’s bride losing her diamond. The Lord, when telling this story, was illustrating just how much God searches for a sinner and rejoices over the lost soul that gets saved.
