For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.
You’d never know it from reading the story of Lot in Genesis, but God records twice in this verse that Lot was righteous. Lot was extremely vexed about all the sinful practices going on around him, although he was apparently part of Sodom’s political system. Lot will be in heaven even though his outward life showed otherwise. Don’t be like Lot and hide your light. Let it shine in a world that is fast becoming just like it was in Lot’s day.
