And David comforted Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the Lord loved him. (2 Samuel 12:24)

And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. (1 Kings 3:3)
The Lord loved [Solomon].

John said, “We love . . . because He first loved us.” If God had not loved us, He would not have sent His Son. If the Lord Jesus had not loved us, He would never have left heaven to come here and die. So God in His love has drawn us to Jesus, and now we respond to Him with love.
