A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
A maul is a heavy, blunt instrument that can smash and crush. A sword cuts through anything. A sharp arrow pierces even protective clothing. So a person that lies against others will crush their dignity, cut away their integrity, and pierce their spirit until they are destroyed, and they will be despised by those that hear the lies. Don’t tell lies against other people.
