Man’s Ways

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.
Often we think we are doing exactly the right things. But God is more interested in why we do them. Is what we do just for ourselves, to justify ourselves before men? Job thought he was so righteous that he would not let his integrity go. Job had a good reputation to protect. But God came to search out Job’s heart and humble him so that he finally had to say, “I am vile  .  .  .  I abhor myself.” Then God blessed him with twice as much as he started with. There are seven “ways” in Proverbs 16. Can you find the other six?
