Concise Bible Dictionary:

A people who had oppressed Israel (Judg. 10:12¹²The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand. (Judges 10:12)). The LXX reads MADIAM, but they were probably the original inhabitants of Maon.
