What doth the Lord require of thee, but . . . to love mercy?

Micah 6:8⁸He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6:8)

How wonderful it is to find someone who is merciful to others. This means withholding punishment for wrongdoing even though it is deserved. God is that way. He has every right in the world to send man to hell whenever he sins. But God doesn’t. Instead He gives him the opportunity to repent. That’s mercy. And God wants us to be the same way. Instead of being quick to judge, let’s be slow to pass a judgment and give the wrongdoer another chance.
