Lake Huleh
A lake in the
north
of
Palestine
through which the
river
Jordan
flows. It is connected with a large morass on its north side, in which there is an abundance of tall papyrus. The streams forming the Jordan flow into this morass, and thence into the Merom waters. The open water is about four and a half miles from north to
south
and
three
and a half miles at its widest. It lies
seven
feet above the level of
the
sea
. This was where
Joshua
defeated the confederate kings of the north (
Josh. 11:5-9
