Mount Hor is between the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Akaba. Here Aaron, Moses’ older brother, died because God would not let him go into the promised land. The view from mount Hor is said to be majestic. Perhaps the deaths of Aaron and, later, Moses at the top of another mountain would be a small picture of our distance, spiritually, from the world. Death for the Christian is just a transformation from one high level to another where we will have a majestic view of our Lord Jesus Christ.
