Genesis 11:4
I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.
Genesis 12:2
We may try all our lives to make a name for ourselves, but the only name worth having is the one that God makes for us. The only blessing worth having and the only blessing with any eternal worth is the blessing of God. Self-promotion is futile. “Whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased” (Matthew 23:12).
