Nearness

Let us draw near.
Come near to me.
Nearness to man is something that God has always wanted. He walked and talked with Adam and Eve each day until sin spoiled it and caused a rift between God and man. There are a few who lived lives of faithfulness to God and had close fellowship with Him. But for the most part man was at a distance. Since Jesus died and shed His blood on the cross, the way into God’s presence has been opened and once again God and man can come together in close fellowship. But it is only possible through the work of Calvary. Let’s remember today, as we spend some time thinking about the cross and the Lord’s death there, that the Lord’s death has reestablished communion between God and man. What a Savior we have.
