When a person is saved, God does not just patch them up and make them presentable and ready for heaven. He starts over with a brand new creation. The Lord explains that if new wine is put into old wineskins (which were used for wine storage in Bible times), the wineskins would break and the wine would be lost. So God, through the Holy Spirit, indwells a believer and he becomes a brand new creation - one that is able to live and honor the Lord Jesus.
