Onesiphorus . . . was not ashamed of my chain.
There were some bright spots in the Apostle’s life. Even though there were many disappointments, there were also events and people that encouraged Paul. Onesiphorus was one friend who was not ashamed of the fact that Paul was in prison for the gospel’s sake, and he deliberately went out of his way to visit Paul and cheer him up. Life can get you down. Let’s be caring enough of others to sense when they need encouragement and do our part to serve the Lord in this way.
