If thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee; leave there thy gift.
Read very carefully verse 23 and all of verse 24. It is most instructive to see that God lays the responsibility to “make up” on the offender, not on the offended. If I come to worship and I remember that someone has something against me, I must go to that person first, be reconciled to them, and then God will accept my worship. It is so important to keep short accounts with God and man. Have you hurt or offended someone recently? Go to them and put it right.
