Old Time

The Lord referred to what was said to “the ancients” by Moses (Matt. 5:21,33²¹Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: (Matthew 5:21)
³³Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: (Matthew 5:33)). (The words are omitted from verse 27 by the editors.) Moses had been proclaimed “from old time” in the synagogues (Acts 15:21²¹For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. (Acts 15:21)).
