Lie not  .  .  .  seeing that ye have put off the old man  .  .  .  and have put on the new man.
It’s interesting to see that many of the Apostle’s letters contain instructions similar to what we have here. Don’t lie to each other, he says. Why is this mentioned? Because our inborn nature has the tendency to lie. As unbelievers we lied easily to save ourselves from trouble. Now as Christians we need to be honest - always. All our words must be truthful. We have rejected the old nature and have accepted the new one. Let’s also get rid of the old nature’s habits.
