(sprinkle). The male of the cow kind, and in scripture synonymous with bull. Used for plowing (Deut. 22:10¹⁰Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together. (Deuteronomy 22:10)); threshing, without muzzle (Deut. 25:4⁴Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. (Deuteronomy 25:4)); draft (Num. 7:3³And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered wagons, and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the tabernacle. (Numbers 7:3)); burden (1 Chron. 12:40⁴⁰Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.
