Globular ornaments on the capitals of pillars (2 Chron. 4:12-13¹²To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars; ¹³And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars. (2 Chronicles 4:12‑13)). Called “bowls” (1 Kings 7:41⁴¹The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; (1 Kings 7:41)).

Concise Bible Dictionary:

Anything round.
