When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven.
Many have memorized this as a standard prayer. But the Lord Jesus was trying to teach His disciples principles, not vain repetitions. First we have, “Our Father.” If we are saved, we can know God and address Him as our Father. We are His children for eternity. Then, “Hallowed be Thy name.” God is holy and is to be reverenced. “Thy kingdom come.” The Father has a glorious future for us and we want it to come soon. “Give us this day  .  .  .  ” Our Father will provide us daily with spiritual and temporal needs. “Forgive us our sins.” Our Father is forgiving when we confess our sins. “Deliver us from evil.” Our Father is faithful to preserve us from evil. Do you know God as your Father?
