We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray . . . in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
We pray. For good results in the work of the gospel, our persuading must be accompanied by our praying. Our preaching without prayer becomes sour preaching without power. We are ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ with the most wonderful message in the world for sinners. But it is only the power of God that can reconcile (restore) men to fellowship with God, and that divine power can work through our prayers.
