THE plowman, with hand upon the plow, cannot look behind: he must keep on with eye steadily fixed on the object before him, for thus He makes straight the furrows. So the Christian must not look back if his testimony is to be worthy of the kingdom of God, but keeping his eye fixed upon Christ steadily go forward. A plowman with his eye wandering about could not plow straight, neither can a Christian be fit for the kingdom with a wandering purpose.
