Many people put on a fair show in the flesh. King David said, “Surely every man walketh in a vain show” (Psalm 39:6). We are told, “Cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light,” and also, “Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof” (Romans 13:12,14). We must put off before we can put on. After David put off Saul’s armor (1 Samuel 17:39), he was able to go forth and meet the enemy. There are quite a few things that Christians are exhorted to “put on” if we are to be good soldiers for the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s open our Bibles and see if we can find some of them.
1. Above all other things, what are we to put on which is called the bond of perfectness? Colossians 3:___
2. When the Galatians were baptized unto Christ, what did they put on in an outward (a public) way? Galatians 3:___
3. What is the Christian to put on so that he may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil? Ephesians 6:___
4. The new man is created in righteousness and true holiness. What are we to do with him? Ephesians 4:___
5. When this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality, what saying will be completed? 1 Corinthians 15:___
