This is used in the sense of “forgiveness.” The forgiveness or remission of sins is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and on the ground of His sacrificial death (Acts 10:4343To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
