ACT 16:1-2
Timothy . . . well reported of by the brethren.
Acts 16:1-2
When you apply for a job, you often have to give references - that is, people who can be contacted to be asked about you, if you are honest, hardworking, etc. Timothy, one of Paul’s faithful helpers, was well reported of by the brethren. They could recommend him because he lived as a Christian should. This should be the desire of each of us, that those in the assembly where we meet can recommend us to others as living a blameless life.
