A Christian never has to be afraid of the Lord. What these verses are talking about is the need to respect and reverence the Lord. When we keep the Lord Jesus in His rightful place as our Lord and Master and do not class Him on the same level as man, then we will be happy. As soon as we reduce the Lord to our level, then we will become proud (high-minded in our verse) and there can be no blessing in our life. Remember to always honor the Lord for who He is and what He has done.
