2CO 5:21²¹For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

For He hath made Him to be sin for us . . . that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Our righteousness depends ENTIRELY on the fact that Jesus bore our sins at Calvary. God made Jesus bear the punishment for our sins, even though He Himself was sinless and could not sin. But God made Him to be sin for us. God punished Jesus just as if He had sinned. Then God made us perfectly righteous in Him. And we don’t have to do anything except believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Isn’t it wonderful?
