The book of ancient times, consisting of long strips of linen, papyrus, or parchment written upon and wrapped on a stick (Isa. 8:1¹Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz. (Isaiah 8:1); Ezek. 2:9-10⁹And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; ¹⁰And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
