(clothed). (1) Father of Boaz and husband of Rahab (Ruth 4:20-21; 1 Chron. 2:11; Matt. 1:5; Luke 3:32). (2) One of the high hills surrounding Shechem, which afforded pasturage for Jacob’s flocks (Psa. 68:14). Zalmon (Judg. 9:48).

“Salmon” From Concise Bible Dictionary:

When the Almighty scattered kings in some place (probably Palestine) it is compared to “snow in Salmon” (Psa. 68:14—an obscure passage). It is perhaps the same as Mount ZALMON in Judges 9:48, the Hebrew being the same, a wooded mountain near Shechem.
