When we were yet without strength    .    .    .    Christ died for the ungodly.
We were without strength - we could not do anything for ourselves. We had no ability to get close to God. We were sinners, far from God. It was then that Christ died for us so that we might come to the Father in the name of the Son. The Lord said, when He was here, that He did not come to call the righteous to repentance (because they thought that they didn’t need it). He came to call sinners to Himself. Let’s thank the Lord today for being willing to die for us so that we could come to God.
