No one can say that the Old Testament had hidden messages about the coming of the Messiah. I wonder if the wise men from the east had read this passage and it spoke to their hearts so that they were willing to travel hundreds of miles to find the Messiah. There were some that were looking for the coming of the Messiah, but many rejected Him because of the humble circumstances into which He was born. But He “made Himself of no reputation.” What a great Savior we have.
