They think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot.
I was always amazed at college, and when I taught at college, to see the number of young people that partied and drank alcohol, and to see the disastrous effects of it. Alcohol impairs your self-control, sometimes to the point of unconsciousness. And when you’re out of control guess who takes over? Right! Satan - getting you to become involved in all kinds of shameful behavior. So although the world may think it strange that you don’t join them, may even laugh at you, stand firm. Enjoy the Lord and His love. Never mind the riotous living of the world. It was this that took away everything that the prodigal son owned. (Read Luke 15:11-1611And he said, A certain man had two sons: 12And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. 15And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. (Luke 15:11‑16).)
