For Christ sent me . . . to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
A good product does not need a high powered salesperson; it sells itself. There are searching souls who need and even crave the peace and joy that the Christian has. We don’t need the “wisdom of words”; our clever conversation may even distract from the gospel and make the cross of Christ of none effect. The gospel is beautiful in its simplicity. Its power is in itself - not in the one who presents it. God often uses a new believer or a child to spread the gospel. Let us not fear or hesitate to be used of Him.
