If any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest.
There are two categories of service: that which is for myself, and that which is for the Lord. Service done with and for the Lord is gold, silver, precious stones which will pass the judgment-seat fire test as a rewardable service. Service done under the “guise” of Christian service but with the intent of self-gratification will not pass the fire test. Wood, hay, stubble all burn when lit. O that we may each fulfil our responsibility in the field of service in a way that is pleasing to Christ. Then it will be of gold, silver, precious stones.
