Shechinah; Shekinah

Boyd’s Bible Dictionary:

(dwelling place). The visible majesty of God, as in the “pillar of cloud” and the “glory” which covered the tabernacle and filled Solomon’s temple. A word found only in the targums, Chaldaic version of Bible, and among early Christian writers. Alluded to (Luke 2:9; John 1:14; Rom. 9:4).

Concise Bible Dictionary:

A name not found in scripture, but used by the Rabbis and others for the visible symbol of the presence of God, as was seen at the dedication of the temple built by Solomon, and at the Transfiguration. See CLOUD.
