(retreat). The well, now Ain Sarah, from which Abner was called by Joab. It was near Hebron (2 Sam. 3:26²⁶And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not. (2 Samuel 3:26)).

(2 Samuel 3:26)). There is a spring and reservoir near the ancient road which Abner would naturally have taken, called Ain Sareh, about a mile from Hebron.
