The iniquity of  .  .  .  Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness.    .    . neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
Here was the problem in Sodom. Wait a minute! This sounds like the U.S.A. today! We’re proud. We have plenty to eat. Leisure, sports and the welfare system make us lazy. And we think more about ourselves than others. “My rights” is the most important thing. I don’t care about anyone else. I realize that this is a great generalization, but the trend is here. In the days before God established kings over Israel, every man “did that which was right in his own eyes.” Let us be concerned and be before God about the downward spiral of modern society. Sodom is here all over again. And it will end once again in judgment.
