254 Death and judgments are behind us. Grace and glory are before all the billows rule for Jesus. There they spent Sarah Post.
2:54.
From.
True. Now we stand in creation.
Bring me by speaking on our garden.
Now.
Friday day.
Like to read a few verses in Psalm 19?
Psalm 19.
And verse seven speaks here of the Word of God, which we hope to open shortly.
The law of the Lord is perfect converting soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right rejoicing. The heart commandment of the Lord is pure enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever. The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous. Altogether. More to be desired, are they than gold? Yeah, than much fine gold.
Sweeter also than honey and a honeycomb. Moreover by them, as I servant warned, and in keeping of them there is great reward.
We pray together.
Our loving God and Father, Thou knowest our needs better than we do.
And so we asked for that portion and feed us with food that is convenient for us, that which is needful. So we pray that the Spirit of God might have that liberty to teach us, to build us up, to strengthen us, encourage us.
All these things that are needful in this time, in this place.
We just commend ourselves to the the precious and worthy name of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jason Letter.
Local brothers.
Have desired the meetings that can be.
My 31.
I had a portion on my heart. I wasn't sure about whether I had the Lord's mind or not. But this little hen. Death and judgment are behind us. Race of warriors before. And then Jesus died, and we died with him to everything great.
Invasion does not proportion, but the book of Ephesians gives us the ministry there that.
00:05:08
Our position in Christ were looked at as already.
Taken up and seated with place and glory.
The highest truth that we can have, but we're not there yet.
The Lord Jesus has not given the show.
And where His body down here on the earth.
And we're in the wilderness.
So with that in mind.
I was thinking of watching which gives us the wilderness pathway.
Watching 3.
Gives us the Union in Christ.
But the pathway here, we're not yet.
With them and glory, but we're joined in him by spirit. So we're in the wilderness pathway and it mentions there about.
Seeking those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things involved and other things on the earth.
Ye are dead and your life is dead. Christ and God, there's much down here.
In this wilderness pathway to attract our hearts and minds away from Christ.
Much all around us, especially in the day in which we live, not only for the young people but for all ages to attract us and get us focused on things down here.
We're not to be looking at things on the earth. Their eyes are not to be downward at things here, but we should be looking upward because there is where our hope lies.
There's where our head is, and we're going to be with them and like them for all eternity. And so this Chapter 3 gives us instruction to the wilderness.
For everyone we have.
For the wives of verse 18, husbands in verse 19, the children in verse 20, fathers in verse 21, and servants in verse 22. We have something in this chapter for for us all. And I wonder if the brothers mind would be that we take this chapter up.
Being very.
He was the brethren. I might say. Yes, that there's 25 verses in the chapter.
It might be nice to keep in mind there's two reading meetings which give us approximately 2 1/2 hours combined.
I don't think it's too much to expect that we could do 12 versus.
In one reading and that way they would get through the chapter. Just something to keep in mind.
I'll read and watch some stuff to read them.
Read the only verse 12. Read the whole chapter and just keep in mind what you said. Read the whole. Read the whole chapter 3.
If he then be risen with Christ, sink those dreams which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth, for your dead and your life is hid with Christ and gods. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, and shall ye also appear with human glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth, fornication and cleanness, inordinate affection. Evil Conclusions.
Which is idolatry, through which things seek the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.
Luigi also walks on time when he lived in them, but now he also put off all these anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Why not one to another, seeing you have put off the old man with his deeds, and put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, gone nor free.
00:10:24
Courage dissolve and win all. Put on, therefore, as the elected God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, weakness, long-suffering, preparing one another and forgiving one another. If any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also be ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. Let the peace of God ruin your hearts, with which also ye are called in one body and the other painful.
Let the Word of Christ dwell on you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another, and songs and hymns and spiritual songs.
Your hearts to the Lord, and whatsoever you do, and murder thee to all, in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Wise make yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well peace and unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Servants obeying all things, your masters according to the flesh, not with thy services men teasers, but in singleness apart, fearing God. And whatsoever you do, do it heartily as to the Lords, and not unto men.
Knowing it of the Lord, you shall receive your Lord of the inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ, but he that doeth for arms shall receive the wrong which he had done, and there is no respect for persons.
Part of the have to stand up.
Bear with me, we are part of a new creation race.
For him when he signed appropriate.
But.
Now through the work of Christ, that he read.
Buried with him in baptism.
We now are part of a new creation race.
That is an individual thought.
I think the passage is beautiful.
But keep in mind.
That our position now.
Is part of that new creation race of which Christ is?
We don't have.
The headship of the body here. So this is.
Our individual place.
In that new creation race.
Form as a result of Christ's finish work.
So when you died with Christ?
And were raised with him to new we have a new creation.
And we're part of that. Is that right here?
We saw that.
We've gone down into death of Christ.
And.
We're waiting actually for the to be joined with him in the morning.
And as individuals here we have responsibilities too, who live our lives according to the truth that has committed to us.
First in the previous chapter.
Colossians 2 tells us exactly what Brother John was saying.
Verse 12.
Buried with him in baptism.
We're in also your vision with and through the faith of the operation of God is to raise them from the dead.
00:15:02
So at the beginning of our chapter it says if you then the vision was Christ.
And so on, as I mean it's the same seat for the things which are above.
If the if cannot verse is not a question of maybe yes or maybe no, It's a question of sense.
Since we are resident with Christ.
If.
If you have a trusted.
Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, then each one of the sort of gun rack.
Has been said there are new preachers in Christ Jesus and we are risen with Christ. But then if we are, since we are, we need to be careful of our walk. At least I should.
Give a new desires heavenly.
From the Lord.
And new birth.
And the new man?
Getting the new desires.
Verse 10 you have put on the Newman which is created the knowledge after the end of the end I created him.
So we.
Where a new race of people, but.
We're a spiritual race of people.
And so we have an appetite for spiritual things.
And so the center of affection on things above, not things down here.
Things down here, we know are worldly.
There we attract the flesh evidence.
And.
Satan's very busy to.
Put many things in front of not only the young people, but us that are older as well.
Purpose would be to rip us off and get us looking on earth and things instead of a heavenly things.
Which, as new creatures in Christ, is what we should be feeding on.
We are going to be with him.
We are going to have eternity with him.
It's nice to start now, here in this scene.
To grow spiritually and the feed upon those things that will heavy kernel and kernel weight interlock.
I was looking back as well in the chapter 2 before and her brother already read verse 12 but in verse 20 it says wherefore if he be dead with Christ from the rudiments for the elements of the world?
Why is the living in the world? Are you subject to ordinances much not case not handling?
Which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and the doctrines of men, Which things have indeed a show of wisdom and will, worship and humility and neglecting of the body, not in any honor to the satisfying in the flesh.
Speaks of the Spirit in Romans 8, but you might look at the couple of verses there.
Romans 8.
There's one There's therefore now no condemnation of them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Verse four, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled enough to walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh through mine, the things are flesh, the day that after the Spears, the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded as death, but to be spiritually minded his life and peace, because the carnal mind is enmity against God. For is not subject to the law of God, neither in being and being. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God, if you're not in the flesh in the spirit.
There so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is not abused, and so on.
00:20:00
The first 2 verses of our chapter would be then be risen with Christ. Seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things in the earth, and so were to have a change of mind with that repentance when you come to salvation. Aren't we into give those things to the rudiments and the elements of this world up follow only those things which please the Father and.
Just like Christ did when He was here, I came only to do the Father's will and the things that pleased him.
And verse 3 where Doctor mentions a new light.
Your life is hit with Christ in the Lord.
When we put our trust in the Lord Jesus as our Savior.
We have to save the sense takes that sin away.
He gives us his new life.
And that new light which is his way.
Sometimes referred to as nature.
But I knew like cannot send.
Because it's his lawyers.
Where Jesus could not sense.
When I sin as a believer.
Allowing the old nature that I was born with to operate.
And so the old maker.
And I shouldn't require it all, it's impossible.
Because it only, it can only send.
You need to keep those two things clear, I believe.
And the question as of.
Brother used to say, in which nature am I feeding?
Leaning on the Word of God and.
Going communion with him.
That's speeding and it will be easier for me if I can put it that way, to operate.
In that new, that new life which cannot sin. But if I'm feeding myself on the old nature, I'm feeding myself on the things of this world around. And there's as Venus was saying, there are a lot of distractions, or distractions actually.
Then I'm feeding the old major and it's going to be operating more than it should.
Some of the could display that life, life that we have on the board.
Some necessary things.
For us to do.
But pleasurable sometimes cut cut things off that you know that's wrong.
But what we are to do?
Different things here that.
In which things say the wrath of God coming from the children of disobedience.
So.
It should not be seen in the.
The child of God and believer.
Anything in the world around us, these kind of danger, but it should not be seen.
I don't believe that. So we have a responsibility to cut those things off, not to allow them in their lives.
Because we do have other opportunities, pointed out the old nature.
Subtracted to those things.
But.
If we're going to to display price.
Position that we're in here in this world.
The child of God.
And the pavilion display him those things that would pull us away, pull us down.
Would need to be judged.
And so it's, I think the secret is setting, setting our affection on things above if we set our minds and our hearts on things above on Christ.
00:25:08
He is and his glory and have an appetite for him. He would want to then cut those things off that would dishonor and displease him. So this is.
Putting Price before us and seeing him even.
Even though we're not lifting up here in Colossians, with him we are. We have this nature and we're going to be with them.
You know, coming day regarding display price. We have this nature in US and believe it.
And pointed out as part of a new a new race of people.
And Christ died. He was the first fruit of that race, He.
And, he wrote, he was raised up as a as a new man.
Head of the new race and all believers that have put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ are part of that new race of hands.
So we are part of that and here's looking at believers here in this in this world, how do we conduct ourselves? How do we display Lord Jesus of Christ in our lives here of men?
Walking here with his nature.
And the desire to do that, or are we desiring the things down here that's going to distract us?
So these are the two choices.
Believe there's a little different aspect if we go over to Matthew's Gospel chapter 6.
Comments made have been very good.
And we should live in the benefit of the new life. But I was I was just thinking of verse 19, Matthew.
Six verse 19.
Just lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupts, and where thieves breakthrough and steal. But layoff for yourselves treasure is in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where these do not breakthrough nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Simple point is that.
If we strive for things in this world, we strive for things that are temporal, fleeting and onshore.
A man that way you heard about last night that lost his daughters in crossing over the ocean. He had great riches in Chicago, but when the Chicago Fire took place, he was bankrupt.
A left with nothing. So we see how quickly things in this world can disappear. But if we have treasure in heaven, it's eternal. It's an inheritance which cannot be taken away and so.
Our lives such that we are laying up treasure in heaven or treasure on the earth.
Because we are going to leave this world.
We don't know when, it may be short time, our journey might be long, but nonetheless we know that we shall leave this world and it will be in glory eternally that we will enjoy, of course, our true treasure, which is the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. And so it says, where your treasure is, there will your heart be also, if we really have a heart for the Lord Jesus.
That's where our mind will be in our chapter verse two it says your affection, your mind on things above.
So it's wonderful to contemplate the person and the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I noticed a lot has been said about.
The fact that in verse two it should be set your mind on things above rather than your affections.
I think it's very difficult, if we've been occupied with this, with this length and everything connected with it, to have our affections then connected with the Lord in heaven. What we really need is to set our mind there. And how do we do that? By reading the Word of God and meditating on it. And the more we do that, what will happen? Our affections then will be attracted to the Lord Jesus. And so I think that's why the word should be.
00:30:29
Mind rather than affections. I want to say too, and this has been a help to me, that in the book of Ephesians were looked upon as in Christ in the heavenly, but in Colossians were looked upon as being on earth, connected to our heaven, our heaven, In fact, back in Ottawa many years ago.
Our brother Ichi Hale always used to talk about the keys to various books.
And I think of that second chapter and the 19th verse as being the key, you might say, to the book of Colossians not holding the head from which all the body by joints and bands, having nourishment ministered and knit together, increases with the increase of God. There was a problem in philosophy. If you go back to the second chapter again to verse verse 8.
It says beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit and the traditions after the traditions of man. So there was a problem there in Colossae. They were being taken up with the philosophies of men and they were getting their eyes off the Lord Jesus at their head in the glory. And so they needed to set their mind on things above, recognizing that they were part of the body on earth connected to their head in heaven.
And he was the one that should be guided.
Another thing too, that I've enjoyed in connection with this chapter, we get the expression put on, put on and put off. And I believe that when it talks about putting off various things, it has to do with the old life before we were saved. We went on with the various things that are mentioned here, fornication, uncleanness in order to affection, evil, confusion, confuses, confusions.
ETC. That's what that's what characterized the old man. But now that we are saved, now that we have accepted the Lord, if they're saved, we're to put off those things and we're to put on and it gives a list of the things we should put on. So it's a matter of putting off the old man and putting on the Newman. That's a little different than.
The flesh.
So we'll have the fleshness until the Lord comes. We can't put that off. We can put it to death or put it in the place of death, but we can put off that which characterized the old life, and we can put on that which is according to.
The Lord's desires for us.
To be seen in that sense.
Is the old man already been put off for the work of Christ?
But Speaking of other flesh.
And never tell the subscription that that the old nature.
Has been crucified, put to death. It says that it's been condemned. Christ condemned sin in the flesh.
So our whole nature, we're going to have it until.
You go home to glory, just never looked at as being dead. In scripture, the old man is the old man and put off of the work of Christ and cross. It's in the place of death. That's a characteristic of what we were before we had saved. It should never be seen in us.
Here in this chapter by characteristic should not be seen in the new man. It has been put off the Christ on the cross, but the question certainly can be seen.
And if we allow the client to act in us, it could bring out a characteristic.
The old man.
But it it should not.
Not characteristic of a believer to display something that that old man that had been kind of way on the prophet of Christ.
00:35:06
Flash tell was in in Romans 8.
Has been condemned. Christ condemned sin in the pledge. It's in the place of condemnation, Brother Gordon Hajo said. He explained it analogy that something has condemned, like a building. The city will come along and they'll staple a notice on the building.
Building is condemned to be demolished.
It's just waiting for the Wrecking Ball, the nothing work to be done with it. It's totally useless.
And that's what the flesh is. It has no benefit to it whatsoever. And we, we need to reckon that Christ has condemned it and is waiting for the record volume. As soon as the Lord Jesus gives him a shout, it seemed to be gone. But as long as we're here and believers in this world, we're going to have that question.
We have a we have our responsibility in that regard to judge it and to keep them in that place of condemnation.
Romans, chapter 6.
There's a verse there.
Romans 6 and verse 11.
The same likewise reckoning also yourselves to be dead indeed, since but alive unto God through Jesus Christ.
Reckon. I think we could say consider, consider yourself.
To be dead indeed under sin.
We don't need to live in that old life anymore. We have the power to have the Spirit of God and John to live in that in a new life.
So consider yourselves to be dead indeed on this.
I was thinking of the innocent mentioned uses at the beginning.
There and in the first chapter of these seasons, not to.
Not to digress too much from Washington and the first chapter of the teachings, we have all of those spiritual heavenly blessings.
As a result of the work of Christ.
Just running down quickly. Verse four were chosen in them. Why would he choose us? They said.
In verse five with pro destination.
The adoption of children by this price on verse six, we're accepted in the robot.
In verse seven, we have redemption through their blood and the forgiveness of sins.
In verse 11.
We have an inheritance.
What more could we want?
Than all of these heavenly blessings.
People say, sometimes you hear even believers saying.
Something like this. The Lord has left my business.
Well, that's that's nice, but I don't really believe the words.
Lessons.
Believe that when?
May allow us to.
Well, and whatever we, our occupation is in their total.
But it's not for the purpose of gaining war of this world.
We already have an inheritance which cannot be taken away as as Darrell was saying.
Were taken away in a moment by a fire, this inheritance that we have in Christ.
All of these heavenly blessings and to be annoying that we're going to be with him.
For 80 or 90 years, Like for eternity 7.
Why would we want to have more of what this will allow?
When it's going to all disappear in a moment.
In connection with the mind, I was just.
Thinking of Romans chapter 12, we put verse one actually on our.
00:40:01
The conference agenda.
And says, there, I deceit you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, if you present your bodies with living sacrifice only acceptable in the God, which is your reasonable service.
Nina Trent conformed to this world would be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may be that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. And then you have another verse in second printings.
Chapter 10 and verse 3.
It's always been an exercise.
Says there.
Before we walk in the flesh, we do know more after the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God. You're pulling down the strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
There you have two passages that bring very clearly before us that we have a responsibility to exercise with what we do with our minds.
And it speaks here of our warfare. And I believe that Satan has been incredibly.
Skillful, if you will, at.
Waging warfare against our minds in this day and age that we live, particularly with technology, you know, that's actually an area that I have to be involved with from my job and there is a war for our minds going on with technology and.
Exhausting every spare moment of our days and.
We need to realize that there is a war going on here.
And I was thinking connection with what you were saying, Robert, and I'd appreciate this. I have a new life.
Part of a new creation.
But there's two aspects not yet fulfilled. But the cross has already seen two of that. They will be that I will get a new body that this incorruptible, this corruptible put on incorruptible First Corinthians 15. And then in Second Peter we have that there will be a new heavens and a new earth.
Those two things are yet before us, but that is our future. We only have the new life. We don't look for new heavens and new earth because it's heaven that we are having new people. But what a glorious future lies ahead and it should be a motivation to to take our minds off this world.
I don't think we have that picture of that in Paul himself. The road Colossians, of course.
2nd Corinthians Chapter 11 We see what Paul was saying here. A few things that he had You might stay in the flesh among his people.
That they could both probably that they would.
Verse 22, Verse 21 I speak to serving reproach and so on. Verse 22 Are they Hebrew? So am I are the Israelites, so am I see the Babraham, so am I, and so on. And in the next chapter he tells them.
About what to place to him right so that verse two of chapter 12. I knew a man in Christ about 14 years ago. He says whether anybody cannot tell come up to the 3rd heaven and saw those things that says that were unspeakable.
Hard to describe.
Very so the thought being that there's Paul, you know, position on the earth, but it's taken out of this world. You're talking about new creation. Well, he's caught up to the 3rd heaven and heard those things and saw those things that really fill this vision, changed his vision totally from the from the old Adam creation. They might say that he was part of. And so he he has a complete change of vision. And this is the thought that gets me to come into that. Now he wants to give us that same vision we are.
New creation in Christ. They go to Galatians chapter one, the next book coming up here.
And we he'll say this, he says.
Verse 15 of chapter one. But when it please God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace to reveal his Son and me, that I might preach him on the heater and so on.
And this is the point now vote the next book, Ephesians. We just looked at a little bit and the Ephesians chapter.
Chapter 3.
You know, continue and say.
00:45:09
Find it.
Verse 3.
He says, How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery.
Police, he's been given this mystery. Now, I assume again from the 3rd Ave. might say, and little farther down. He says well verse 5. Verse one, which in other ages was not made known under the sons of man, as it was now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by spirit. But a Gentiles should be fellow heirs and the same body and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel where I was made a minister according to the gift of the grace of God.
Given unto me by the actual working of His power.
Unto me, or unless in the least of All Saints is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery that's from the beginning of the world I've been hitting God. If we had all things because of Jesus Christ.
We will marvelous to the intent and now on to the principalities and powers, and that will replace that we all invited Church, the manifold wisdom of God.
So we're laying up this mystery that was given to him.
In glory by arisen and glorified Christ and so it had the effectual working that it's separated in the United States from this from this current world and and brought them to that that heavenly sight. And so this is where we thought that we we too were taking these things and realize that we too have died and arisen with Christ to seek those things which are about he wants to fool us as a word.
Now the things of the old creation, that with those of the new.
And the one is that we're in the enjoyment of those things. We have spiritual sports, but I'm from California.
Animation. It's difficult.
For.
The one who put things, Judge sent.
But that's what the scripture asked us to do.
Going to mortify members and bodies and the judge.
Them.
It tells us here to.
But now you also put off all these anger bond college classical.
These are all things that.
We did. He called it the same. These are things that we hear, unsafe people.
Saying and doing.
And as you can easily get caught up and so we need to be aware of these things, but we're not to be doing this ourselves. So we're to put these things off.
Why not one another?
Thing you have put off the old man.
Now it goes that what was put off to putting on.
And have put on the Newman which is renew the knowledge after the end we can I created him.
And then verse 12 put on there for.
The elected God fully.
Of mine meekness on suffering bury one another.
Give me one any man that would quarrel against me, even as vice we gave you, so also we need. And above all these things put on, carry on.
So we have things mentioned that we're put off.
And things mentioned that were to put on.
To the verse in Philippians.
We can use would help us.
Put things on.
Talking about keeping our minds.
00:50:02
And the enemy to try to corrupt their minds and get us dwelling on things down here.
Things that wife enjoys rather than the things that Christ enjoys, the things that we enjoy because we're at hand, so it says here and put the attachment for.
For sex and be careful, for nothing, everything with fear and supplication of Thanksgiving. Let's request me to pay known unto God.
Peace of God which passed all understanding and shall keep your hearts and minds through like you. That's a promise from from the Lord.
Take the things to him that would have a difficulty with relay the other before him.
And he will give us peace. He will help us with us.
Away from us and we'll keep our hearts and our minds.
And so you need to be dependent.
Speaking here of the tendency to come before the Lord and ask help for these things.
I know that and my own self. It's easy to.
Say, well, I can handle that. I don't need to pray about that. I know what I'm supposed to do. So you know, I don't need to seek the more his health. But if there's things that we know we're having difficulty.
Things that we know we can't manage yourselves.
Things that water does it's a concern to us for care to take them to the Lord but he's the one that can give us peace and keep our minds from doing things maybe that we.
Do that we should.
That's going to help me, that person looking.
Really. A promise by the Lord?
Take those things you have, you will help us.
What do you think about and?
Or shoot after as an object.
Close our lives.
We know that what we think about.
Shoe laughter as an option controls our life.
And.
It's a comment.
Is the life of Christ that we have within us. It's not Christ personally dwelling within us. We don't have two divine persons. This is just a.
With the comment where it speaks of Christ in you the hope of glory, that does not mean that Christ is physically in the believer.
But it is the life of Christ.
Mr. Kelly makes it very clear in his writings. It is the life of Christ that we have.
And we have the new nature.
And that is already commented. We actually have put when we accepted Christ in that confession, we put off the old man we have, He's looked upon as having been put off.
When we accept so.
I don't want to get to Him, to something difficult. For the young people, just remember this, that you have now the very life of Christ. I'll never make the Lord my treasure in heaven unless I know that He has a treasury down here.
I don't think.
An exhortation to.
To try to make the Lord our treasure, if we.
Are conscious that we are His treasure down here.
Then that's going to.
Bring out our hearts and minds toward the Lord what we think about.
Already said that.
So a thought reap an action. So an action reap a habit. So a habit a reap a character show, a character reap a destiny. So what we think about is is so important and it has been brought out.
If our minds are occupied with the Word of God and eternal things, it will be reflected in our walk.
00:55:05
In connection with setting your mind on things above it, we didn't read that eighth verse of Philippians 4 because there we have it, I think.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lonely, whatsoever things are a good report. If there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things. Well, we know that all those things were true of the Lord Jesus, and if we're occupied with Him, these things will occupy and.
We'll be occupied with heavenly things I wanted to mention too in our chapter.
Then in the fifth verse were to put to death all these various things that are mentioned. We know what characterizes the world today. All you have to do is look at the Internet or the newspaper and all it talks about is what we have in this fifth, fifth verse. And as Christians I know we can fall into these things, but generally speaking.
We keep away from that, but you'll notice when you come down to verse 8.
It mentions another list. It mentions anger and wrath and malice and bitter thoughts towards others. Blasphemy. Filthy communication out of your mouth. Why not one to another? I think you could say that these things are habits and it's very easy to allow them to continue in our lives. We need to judge these things.
And I think it's very important we have the same thing.
Chapter 4.
Where it mentions in the 26th verse Well verse 25 put away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor. Verse 26 be angry and sin not.
Verse 29 Let not corrupt an invitation to see him. You're not. So sometimes we allow these things as habits in our lives.
We need the judgment, don't we?
Those verses standards mentioned by putting off there where they and.
And verse 9.
This is after says line out to one another.
It's going to say seeing that she had put on off the old man's ski that those things you you mentioned there Thursday 9 or what cares characterized before we could see the thing that characterized the old man.
We the old Man is really the character of someone unsafe.
How you looked at how the Aries himself, how he ordered like it's.
Dairy drugs.
That old man had to put off by Christ on the cross. He should not be seen in the city saying.
But we do know that you need help with them. And just as the Jews have mentioned in chapter 2, a lot of different things there that they have trouble with putting on. You know that the Jews have covered putting on Judaism, which is really originalism.
All the things, ceremonies and everything of Judaism is an attraction to them. And even though Christ had crucified them on the cross, they had a hard time to let go of it. And those things are still around us today. And there are things that attract the flesh and they're hard to let go of. And Christians today have the same problem with them as they did here, as the news did.
And.
There's all kinds of other things that the enemy has to to attract practice away from from the Christian pathway. Really it's like trying to do because this is what speaking up here is how we should walk.
With the characteristic of the life that we have now in Christ, it's our walk here.
01:00:00
But the body itself is not sinful.
We all know the vile body is not a correct translation. It's a body of humiliation. The body itself is not looked upon as sinful. However, I can use the members of my body in a sinful way. That's quite possible. That's what the apostle is saying here. I can use my hand. I can use my feet and other members of my body.
To practice sin.
And that's what I've done in the past. And now we are not to allow the body to be used in that way anymore.
We are to own the Lords of claim, the Lord's claims upon our body, upon our members, so that they will, they will manifest.
The new life that we can stated.
That's what we have, brother John and Rowland 6th again.
Verse 13 Neither yield ye your member the instruments of unrighteousness, understand, but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness under God.
I was wondering about first, not to go back to verse 2, but where it says affections and we've all agreed that Blind should be there, but her brother John mentioned something a few minutes ago about our hearts and our minds.
Our hearts definitely come into these things as the body was mentioned. Our heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. But.
When it says that we should verse 10 where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, that should be the focus of everything in our life. Not so much that we have the affections on things above, but that Christ is there and that should be where our affection is set. And so when we consider what he did for us on Calvary's cross.
It does bring our hearts into it because we loved Him, because He first loved us. And so therefore our hearts and minds should be set on Him, that one that is there in the glory and.
When we see the children of disobedience in verse six, we're no longer considered that we should be the children of obedience. Now following after the example that we have in first Peter 2 will probably suffer for us leaving an example that we should follow in the steps and to put these things off in verse 8, when you agree that that's a responsibility that we have each one of us to be before him and and asking for help and Karen put these things off. It was interesting showing to read those verses in the second Corinthians and just one more verse down and verse six of chapter 10 it says and having inner readiness.
To revenge all disobedience under obedience is fulfilled and so we must be at a readiness to this help to put those acts of disobedience off before we continue form. In Titus chapter 3 we have similar portion that we ourselves in verse three were sometimes foolish and disobedient, deceived, serving divers loss and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared not by works of righteousness.
Which we have done.
But according to his verse, He saved us by the Washington regeneration, renewing of the Holy Ghost, which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior. And so Jesus back to Christ, isn't it? We see it again in Chapter 11, which is similar to the verse our brother Derek Red. But there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bond or free. But Christ is all and in all put on therefore as the elect of God holy, and blood and bowels of mercy.
And so on. And so when we put these things off, stand your over internal. And we did Timothy. And it reminds me of those verses in Second Timothy chapter 2.
It says let everyone that name it the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
But in a great house that are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood in the earth, and some to honor, and some to dishonor. If a man therefore purge himself from these or put them off, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the Master use and prepared unto every good work. Lee also youthful lust, but follow righteousness, faith and charity, peace within the common Lord of the pure heart. And again, characteristics of Christ, aren't they? And so.
This should be our desire.
Call the name of Christ and depart from iniquity. And then to be willing and able to be fit for his use. And that was what Paul is Derek brought out. He was fit for his use.
01:05:07
I guess one of the questions we should ask, how do things enter into our mind and our heart? I think when the first thing actually is, it goes through our eyes. So that's why even children, Son said. We'll be careful little eyes, what you see and.
As people teach defensive driving, sometimes you add a role or something as an obstacle.
What they teach, they teach you not to keep your eyes on the obstacle because if you do that, you will actually, you know, you tend to follow the car will go there. You should aim for the opening escape way and aim for that. And your, your, your, your hands and your mind will just go there. So as a question, I think we also need to be aware of it.
Good things and bad things enter into a heart and mind for us.
Quite often, and we need to be careful and how much time what we spend with our eyes and on what, and we'll set our hearts and mind in the right direction or the wrong direction.
Peter brings out a similar thing in the first Peter 4.
Where he also uses things in the mind. The same mind is the first one there.
Verse Peter four and verse one for as much than as Christ has suffered for us in the flesh. This is not as atonement suffering as the cross, but the suffering of the flesh. Here you just arm yourself. Likewise with the same mind. We did have something in the flesh of cease from sin that ye be no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lust of man left to the will of God.
Farther down it says.
I think so.
All these things put on fervent charity among themselves for cherish and cover the molecular sins who have loved spoken of. I believe her smile is tied in with that he's hospitality 1 to another without grudging. In other words that Oscar all in terms of my home being open, but it's the the love showing that same hospitable love one to another.
And out of verse 10, I believe as well as every man I can see they give Even so minister the same one to another. I believe it's reference to the same hospitality and charity, love, and not to give this gift of ministry, which is a verse 11 I do believe, but I believe in verse 10. This is as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. We have all received and recipients of the grace of God.
And so now we're called upon to use that same grace to show it same grace to others as good stewards.
That what you've been getting to us. So it's, it's all tied together, isn't it, in a practical way, that charity and hospitality and the ministry of grace.
Just like to make a comment on what the match brought before us in second Peter chapter 2.
The question was how do things enter into our mind? I believe seeing is definitely one way, but hearing is also another way. And in Second Peter chapter 2, it's speaking about Sodom and Gomorrah verse six and talks about Lot in verse eight. It says that righteous man dwelling among them in seeing and hearing vexed his righteous soul.
From day-to-day with their unlawful deeds, you know, just living in this world, we are a little bit like lot in the Sodom. And if we allow these things to come in and and take a part in our lives and minds and so on, and then the result is that we grieve the Spirit of God is brought before us in Ephesians. And when we grieve the Spirit of God, what does that produce?
Unhappiness in our life?
So in order to get back that joy of fellowship with the Lord, as he says in John's Gospel chapter 13 and 17, I believe is the verse says if you know these things, happy are you if you do so there, it takes an effort, doesn't it, to block out those things that we see around us daily everywhere in this world and set our affection and mind on that which is above.
01:10:13
One way, Kennedy or any purpose?
Could have said well.
Very much I'll just, you know, kind of stuck here and see the situation that I can do it, but he quit his text.
We set our minds on things down here.
We get the models first. John chapter 2.
In verse 15 it says Bob, not the world.
Man love the world and love a father of him.
For all that is in the world, lots of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, pride of life out of the Father throughout the world, those same three things that Satan used to.
Receive Adam and Eve in the garden of the same three things he uses today to trip up the believer.
The same pretty things and but it comes through the blood of the world. Love, not the world.
If we love the world because of opening Satan, that command and use one of those three things to get our hearts and our minds away.
Spiritual things by the world.
So another verse two of that is enrollments down to 12 and.
Says there be not conformed to this world, but being transformed by the renewing of your mind.
You may include, but it's good and acceptable.
Perfect world of God.
Our minds should be set on spiritual things.
I believe we should be comparing spiritual spiritual as we get in first grade and.
Growing spiritually on the school of the Word of God spiritually.
But there is that attraction. We need to be renewed in our mind. We need to have a mind change.
Within.
Especially when the believers might change that.
Things there in the world.
Going through the practice, we're going to find a love for them and then sit in the first John and the enemies going to use that plus.
Of the flesh, the eyes are pride. You draw us away.
That's so the enemy works. He tried to do that with the board, didn't he?
Before he beat him with the word of God.
The Lord didn't have a wife like we. We have it in but.
He did that with word of word of the Lord.
But he used those three things. He used the lust of the guys, the lust of the flesh, pride, all three. And that's what he uses today. And though he he doesn't change in his character, still the same.
46 in the back.
46 in the appendix.
Have I an object, Lord below, which would divide my heart with you, which would divert its even flow in answer to life constancy #46 in the back?
Have I?
My heart.
To pray.
Describe.
To all those strangers and waiting for thee.
Father, we thank you for this time together here this afternoon.
Lord, we thank You for this portion, how it reminds us that our hearts and minds should be set on Thee, our beloved Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. In consideration of what Thou has done for us in the example of Thou has left, that it too should be our desire to be obedient children. Do only those things that please the Father, that you might put on Christ.
And Lord, like those ones there in the mountains, how when they lifted their eyes, they saw no man say, Jesus only learned that we just have our eyes fixed on thee and not the things of this World War that we might put all these things off. We just put on Christ. And so we just pray for the remainder of the time together here this weekend. Thy name we pray, Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. Amen.

Friday.
In our fall.
Our family.
My Grace Horn.
Here, with love from men surgery.
You'll notice in the last.
6th line of that second verse, it says at thy table is our place.
I want to speak a better bed to the words table as part of what we.
Often here referred to as a grounded gathering.
I actually prefer to think of that subject as the ground of being gathered rather than the ground together. And we'll probably.
Understand a little bit better as we go along why I say that.
Before we start, let's ask for help our God and our Father, and thank thee that we can now call the ABBA Father.
We have a relationship so close to thee.
Because of the death of thy beloved son on the cross of Calgary.
Cannot be closer as we sometimes soon.
They're as close as ice as the Lord Jesus.
Cannot either be.
When we think.
Our God of how?
Lost we were before.
We are amazed at Tyler. We were without the our God and without hope in this world.
Lord Jesus, thou has sought, found us.
And now we thanks we can open thy word this afternoon.
And examine and look into some of the things which are very precious to thy heart and should be precious to ours as well. And so we ask for thy health this afternoon, and we do so, our God and Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior.
I'd like to turn first.
To the book of Matthew.
Turning to a few scriptures.
Bear with me if you heard me think about this subject before. You also have to bear with me at 2:00.
00:05:08
It's very precious to my heart and I think it's important for all of us, from younger ones to the older ones of us here. My grandson tells me that an old man, so I guess I'm classified as older. Very important for all of us to understand What?
Is very precious to the Lord.
To be to find ourselves at his table.
We have to start back a little bit and in Matthew chapter 16.
In the middle of verse 18.
The Lord says to Peter.
I will build my truth.
I will build my church.
You know, a few weeks ago.
There was a letter.
Dropped into the mailbox of the meeting room in Montreal.
It was a.
Rather politely critical letter.
Anonymous.
No indication as to who wrote it or put it there.
And amongst other things in the letter.
The writer referred to.
Mr. Darby being the founder.
There's a nomination that met in that building.
You obviously PRT obviously had a bit of an axe to grind as the as the expression goes.
But I want to say right up front.
That those of us who are meeting here today in this room.
As well as all of those with whom were in fellowship around this world are not a den.
We trust that we are the Lord has brought us.
To get them to be gathered to his name alone by the power and the leading of the Spirit of God, and to be at his table. But we're not a denomination. And if anyone, if anyone, would object to.
Mr. Garvey being called the founder of the denomination, it would be the manager himself.
We hear, we read.
That the Lord Jesus says I will build my church.
So if we want to talk about founders and the Lord Jesus Christ himself is the founder of his church and the builder of his church.
And it belongs to him.
The word church.
Is a little bit misleading and misleading a lot of people just driving into St. John's we saw and driving in through the city.
We saw a lot of churches and just about any city that you want to live in in Canada.
Drive through, you're going to see a lot of church buildings.
But what the Lord Jesus is talking about here is not a building made of bricks or wood or stone.
It's a building of believers.
In himself.
The.
Where I come from in Montreal, I'm no expert in French, I just get along in it.
In the language but.
We own those of you I guess from your Brunswick would know as well.
That the word for church in French is at least.
And.
That as I understand it's more obvious in French.
The word church, or at least really comes from a Greek word called ekklesia.
This is what I've been told, which is very similar to the French Iglesias and that word the meaning of that word ecclesia in Greek.
I understand he was cold at once.
All the believers who have been called out of this world, as we heard this morning, we are really citizens of heaven now because of the work of the Lord Jesus on the cross.
00:10:07
So the church that the Lord Jesus is speaking about here is.
Are the are the believers in himself who have put their trust in you called in this world and their their part they make up his term so every believer in this room and I trust it is everyone.
If you're not, you're not believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't even wait until the end of this meeting. Put your trust in Him now, as you say.
For every believer in this group and every believer in the city of Saint John's and all around the island of Newfoundland, and there are many.
And all around this world.
Our members of that.
The Lord Jesus has been as founded and is building.
Let's turn to Acts chapter 20.
Acts Chapter 20.
On the and verse, just the last part of verse 28.
2028 the last part.
It speaks of the Church of God.
Which he has purchased with his own.
Speaking of the church, which.
Lord Jesus said he would build, and it says here that he has purchased.
His own blood.
I think we're Sean spoke this morning about.
Or to the Lord Jesus.
Because of the price that he paid for you and me.
Well, this verse also tells us.
That the Lord Jesus purchased his church with his own blood, and we know that on the on the cross of Calvary.
He shed his precious blood to wash away your sins and mine.
That was the the price of the purchase of this trip.
Which shows us, I believe, how valuable this church was, how precious this truth is to him.
Let's turn now to Acts Chapter 2.
That's chapter 2.
Starting at verse one.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one at 4 in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from having as of a rushing mighty wind.
And it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like us with fire, and it sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.
Here is the account in the acts.
Of the founding of the church that we're speaking.
The church which the Lord Jesus said he would build.
Here it is where it took place.
Inverse in the very first verse it says they were all with one accord in one place that what that is all of those who.
Followers up and believe it believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We don't.
We now we have the whole word of God.
But just imagine you were.
One of these, one of these men like Peter or John or the other apostles or the other, the women, some of the women who believed in him.
This was totally brand new for them.
They didn't know what was going to happen. They they had the word, had promised that they would receive the Holy Spirit.
Not many days hence.
But here they were.
They had trusted in the Lord Jesus. Here they were all.
00:15:01
With one accord in one place. Beautiful.
With one accord in one place, all kinds of different people. And yet by the work of the Spirit of God, he had made sure that they were all together in one place, maybe something like this room.
So the Spirit of God was at work.
In order for them to be there even before he came down and invented.
And it says in verse four, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. There's the indwelling of the Spirit of God and each and every believer, every one of them who was, who were there then.
And not only did they were they as well as individuals.
But it says at the end of verse two that.
The Spirit of God filled all the house where they were sitting.
So the Spirit of God came.
Down to that place where they were and he was there collectively.
Amongst them, not just in the indwelling individuals like he was there where that group of believers was and I might say.
That there were no believers missing.
On that occasion, the Spirit of God had made sure that they were all there.
And we know if we were to look through that, we're not going to turn to it, but we know if we were to read through the rest of the acts.
That the Spirit of God.
Says but it says later on that the Lord added to the truth something should be saved. So it wasn't just these hundred or so people who were there at that time. There were thousands at it at various times. And so today every believer.
All around this world.
Is a member has been in love by the Spirit of God and is a member of the church in which the word Jesus said we were killed.
Now let's go to Ephesians chapter one.
Evenings, chapter one.
I should have mentioned before, but.
When we were talking about this word church.
As we know in in Mr. Darby's translation of the Bible.
Uses the word assembly.
And that's probably a better word than than the word church. The church is, like I said, that we saw when we were driving into Saint John.
Church of this church, of that, this church, that church. Beautiful buildings.
But that's not what God was intended. That's not what the Lord Jesus built.
There are probably believers in a lot of those churches, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
They and we and every believer is a member.
Began at his school building.
So.
Use the word church can be as I said before of it misleading and so we may be using the word assembly instead of that, but here in Ephesians chapter one.
Starting and then we just the beginning of verse 17.
And then go on to verse 22.
At the God of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Father of glory.
Go to the middle of verse 22 gave him the word Jesus to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body.
So here it's very clear.
Two things that God has made the word Jesus Christ the head of that church.
There are no there's no believer on Earth who is the head.
00:20:00
Of history. It belongs to the Lord Jesus, he said. It was my truth. He built it. He's still building it. He founded it. He's still building it.
It belongs to him, and God's Father has made him the head of that church.
There's no organized organization.
Of hierarchy that controls that Church, He is the head only, only Lord Jesus himself.
And here we get introduced second thing about this hostage, we get introduced that that church, that assembly as a whole is seen as his body. It says here that church or assembly, which is his body. So it's a body of believers, the members of that body.
Are is are they? They're comprised of every believer in the whole world.
Now we're going to look at First Corinthians 12.
Because that gives us.
A little more, a little confirmation, more confirmation of what we've been talking about.
12.
1St Corinthians 12 starting at verse 12.
Whereas the body is one and has.
Many members, and all the members of that one body being many, are one body.
There he's speaking about all with the direction of the Holy Spirit is speaking about our bodies, our human bodies, as an example of what he wants to tell me.
So as the body is one and have many members, and all the members of that one body being many are one body, so also is Christ, or by 1 Spirit are we all baptized into one body.
Whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be other people, we be bond or free, and have been made, have all been, have been all made to drink into one spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.
There's 20, but now are there many members yet but one?
So here we have.
Rotif.
That just as you and I have.
Have two ears and two eyes, two hands, and so on.
Each with different functions in our human body.
So the body of Christ, which is His truth, has many members.
There's different functions. Some are good at this, some are good at that. Everyone has a purpose. Because he has purchased that church with his own black. He doesn't bring, I can say this reverently, he doesn't bring anyone into that.
True, that body of his, that is, that doesn't have any use.
They're all useful to him.
Sometimes it may take us a little while to to figure out what what it is he wants me or you to do.
But there's nobody in the body of Christ who is not valuable.
Lord Jesus Christ, He purchased, He paid for our salvation, and he wants us.
In his as members of his party.
And so, and we see here that there are many members of.
His body and by 1 Spirit, as we read it in Acts chapter 2, by 1 Spirit, we've all been baptized into one body. So there's, there aren't two bodies or multiple bodies of believers. There's one. And when the Lord looks down from heaven and he's up there now, looks down and he sees one body of believers.
We here in this room are a very, very small part of that one party.
The word looks down in these season believers on the other side of the world, Africa, India.
00:25:00
Australia. Wherever you want to name China Siberia.
One body. Everyone who believes in the word Jesus Christ is an equal and valuable member of that party.
You know, I'm sure that most of you have heard.
As I have heard these things spoken about many times.
But I really believe that we need to understand.
And examine what the Word of God says about these things sometimes we can get into.
Into a way of thinking that we know what this is all about.
And we might be.
In danger of just getting a little bit off subtracting.
I'm getting used to hearing expressions that have been used for many years.
But I think what I want to do this afternoon is.
Is to see what the word of God actually says and teaches us that there's this subject.
And so.
The next.
Thing I want to consider is.
The members, all the members of the body of Christ.
What does?
What does the lure was the head of the body.
Want each one of us to do. Now he may have different things different different work for each one to do, but there's one thing that he would like to have every member of the body of Christ do and I think you'll prompt most of you will probably know the answer. Let's turn to Luke chapter 22.
Luke, chapter 22.
Luke chapter 22, verse 19.
And he, the Lord Jesus, he took bread and gave thanks and break it, and.
Unto them saying, This is my body which is given for you, this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the tough after supper, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is said.
Here we have the Lord Jesus Himself.
Instituting.
The remembrance of himself.
With his disciples.
And this is what he's asking me to do. Let's do in remembrance of me.
And some people might say, well, that was only the 12 apostles or the 11 apostles.
But this is what he would like every believer to do.
To remember him in his cast.
Tomorrow morning if the Lord leaves us here.
He will do that in this room.
Just a few of the members of his party.
Out of probably millions in this world.
But we will do that that he has asked us to do.
Does the Lord Jesus want every member of the body of Christ to do that?
Every believer in the city of Saint John together.
Not with us.
But at his table.
Remembering that's what you would like to have.
And, you know, it's interesting that the Apostle Paul.
Who, by the direction of the Spirit, God wrote many of them.
Epistles in their testimony he was not here.
But let's turn over to 1St Corinthians 11.
And as we all know, we're going to see the apostles follow writing there.
I've been at the very same thing.
00:30:05
1St Corinthians 11.
And verse 23.
For I have received of the Lord he didn't receive it from.
Peter or John or any of the other?
He says here I received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks and break it and said take, eat, this is my body which is broken for you, this dude in remembrance of me after the same matter also he took the cup when he had sucked, saying this cup is the New Testament.
In my blood.
This Dewey is off as you drink it, and remembrance of me, or as often as he eat this bread and drink this cup, he who shows the Lord's death till he comes.
So here was the Apostle Paul writing this.
When he had not even been at that occasion.
In that upper room with the Lord Jesus.
We read about it in chapter 22. But the Lord had shown him we as we.
Somebody was referring to this morning. He had been caught up to the third covenant.
Told things that were unspeakable, and I'm sure that part of that was that the Lord had revealed to him that this is what He wanted Paul and every member of the body of Christ to do.
So that's, that's what he wants us to do, to remember him and ask. Turn back to Acts 20.
7.
We see.
The disciples actually doing that 20 and the seven.
It says and upon the first day of the week when the disciples came together to break bread.
So here we see.
I'm doing exactly what the word has asked me to do.
And it was on the first day of the week.
It was not once a month.
Four times a year it was the first day of the week, and I presume it's pretty clear that it was the first day of everything.
Because the Lord had said through Paul and.
Corinthians 11 Said as often as he eats his bread, it was a regular. The Lord once said to me a regular.
Remembrance every week on the first day of the week.
So that's what he wants us to do. Remember himself in the in the breaking of bread.
And the taking of the cup, Speaking of his body that was given for us.
There are sins in his own body of the tree.
And the Trump speaking to us of his blood check.
Take away my city.
Now the question arises.
Where does he want us to do this?
Where is he want us to?
Let's go back to First Corinthians 10.
1St Corinthians 10 and in the middle of verse 21.
We're going to see.
We're going to see.
Reference to the Lord's Table.
Not going to go into the whole subject that always covering here.
But he refers to the Lord's table.
Now, as far as I can see, that's the only reference in the New Testament.
To his teeth, but it's there.
It's there.
And.
There's a thing about the lunch table, guys.
00:35:00
Who does that belong to?
If we look at the way it's written, it belongs to the work.
Words table does not belong to any group of Christians.
Anywhere in this world, it belongs to the world.
And the other thing that we want to notice is that it's in single.
One table.
So it belongs to the Lord just like.
His church that was born that he purchased his own blood.
Belongs to him, so does the table. The worst table belong to the world.
There's no.
There's no group of Christians.
Not us here or anywhere else we say that we own or control the world state.
Belongs to him.
You know.
There are so many beautiful pictures in the Old Testament.
Of things which the Lord brought out in the New Testament.
Those things, one of those pictures that I love is is in Second Samuel Chapter 9.
I just want to look at that for a few moments.
Second Samuel 9. We all know the story quite well.
I don't think they're going to take the time to read the whole chapter, but I want to look at some of the verses.
Samuel, Second Samuel Chapter 9, verse one.
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the House of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathans sake?
Members three and the king said, Is there not yet any of the House of Saul, that I may told the kindness of God and to him.
Verse four. And the king said unto him, Where is he? On structure? Read the whole third person. And Zyba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is laying on his feet. And the king said unto him, Where is he?
Inside the Senate of the King, Behold, he is in the House of Making, the son of Annielle of our Inlord of Art.
And King David sent and fetched him out of the House of naked, the son of Anil from.
Now when the service is, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul was coming to David. He fell in his face and did redness.
As David said in the furniture, and he answered, Behold.
Never said unto him, Fear not, for I will sorely show thee kindness and my Father's sake.
Where we all go and solve our Father.
Here is something we really want to know. Thou shalt eat bread.
And he and the Featherstone bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant? Thou shouldest look upon such a dead God as I did.
We'll drop down the middle of 1St 10 David speaking again, but my February 1St Masters son shall eat bread always at my table.
And then at the end of verse 11.
As former privileges, said the king, he shall eat at my table as one of the King's son.
And then verse 13 so the fibrosis well into the sword or he did he continually after King's tape and was laid on roses feet.
I just think this is such a beautiful picture.
How we should consider?
1St of all, efficient was from the house the family of Saul.
00:40:02
Naturally speaking.
You wouldn't think that David would want to have anything to do with anyone from that, that's all.
The way saw Peter David.
When Saul was king.
Yeah, David was the designated king.
You would think that the fibrosis would be the last person for whatever or anyone from there has solved would be the last person that David would want to have eating at his table.
Doesn't that show us?
Isn't that a picture of the love of the Lord Jesus for you and for me?
As as guilty sinners, we deserve nothing. We never deserved the salvation that He's accomplished for. But he wanted you and he wanted me.
To be part of his bride's house, and he. He took my sins and doors on the cross.
So that that could be possible.
So David wanted the.
And he went and searched him and brought him. He brought him to his table.
Reaction.
I think it's three times here we see in verse 6.
He fell on his face and had reference.
English.
I can imagine.
When when he found out that David.
Grandfathers enemy wanted to have him at his table.
And he fell in his face.
And then in at the end of that verse.
Six, he says. He answers with the David, and said, Behold thy service.
You really took a very humbling real quick before before.
And then in verse eight, he bowed himself and said, What is thy servant that looked upon such a dead dog as I am?
He realized his.
Is.
Nothingness.
And you know if we.
We wanted the that's the words take. We have to realize that we're nothing, that he's everything.
And he said. And that he's the one who wants us to be there.
So three times it seems to me that David that the Fellowship showed his his.
Real realization that means nothing for a four day.
But on the other hand, David.
Three times says.
First of all, at the end of verse 7, thou shall be spread at my table. Continue.
And then he repeats that in verse 10, the last part of verse 10. The Master Son shall eat prayer.
And at the end of verse 11, I was pretty.
Said to King, He shall eat it by tape.
To need such a beautiful picture as the Lord Jesus wants to have every believer.
At this table.
Might say, well that's impossible today.
In these days of such confusion amongst Christians.
Yes, there is, but it doesn't change the fact.
Doesn't change the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ, I believe, would like to have.
Every single belief patterns too.
You know, I before we leave the I just want to point out.
I don't think we ever read in this chapter.
Story that the privatisation.
Was so used, got so used to being there at Davis table.
That he felt like he owned.
And he felt like he owned the table and that he took that he could look after and tour.
00:45:05
We don't read anything. There's no indication of that that I can see. Seems to me that he was just. He must have been so thrilled that David even wanted him to be there.
That he was just happy to be there at.
Is to.
I've never got to the point where he felt like he like he could have any control over.
And you know brother, and that's.
Where the way I think we need to work to.
Take Yes, we need to be careful if the Lord has brought us there.
There are cases where we need to be careful.
I know what happens at that time.
You better realize that we do not.
It's only.
Let me just illustrate that I you may have heard me say this before, but.
Our brother and sister in St. John, NB, David Verda.
We've stayed with them, my wife and I have stayed with them many times and just about every time you drive through.
Saint John or or or want to stay in Saint John they have been.
Mary Hospital talked to her hospitality this morning. They were the epitome of hospitality.
But no matter how many times.
My wife and I have sat at their table and enjoyed fellowship with them.
I could never.
Get to the point where I could say that that house, their house belonged to me or that their table where we ate belong to me. It was still David and burgers too. I might just have the standard bar.
Have treated us the same way and we were just there.
But.
We couldn't. I couldn't sit down and stand on barge table.
As we did last a week ago and say that that table belonged to me.
And if they've come to our place, they wouldn't think that either.
Just a little example of how we need to look at the words table.
Like my privilege says, we can be very thankful that the Lord has brought us there. We trust.
So let's never.
Now the question.
Final question is.
We need to move along here.
My question is how do we find? How do we know where towards table is?
If the Lord wants us to remember him, and we have seen that He.
It's obvious that he would want us to remember him at his table.
And we've seen the example of contributors being brought to Davis TER.
So today in 2019.
How do we know whether was table is?
Any of us, by his grace alone.
Believes that He has brought us to this table.
Some of us, you know, have been.
Brought there when we were very young, like some of these children. They've been brought there by our parents.
And some people might say, well, if you're.
Grandfather and father were there then. That's probably why you're there.
But you know, sooner or later.
And a lot of us have experienced this in the last.
30 years.
Sooner or later we get tested.
Even if our parents brought us to the assembly or the Lord's table is we get tested sooner or later.
And it's beautiful to see as we just had.
Brother in Montreal in the last year or so.
Who told us?
That he had hoped to find something.
Like he's now found.
He never knew that he could come to a place.
00:50:01
Where he's as he says, where the Lord has given his place as head over the church, and if he can just simply remember the war, gather to put to the name of the Lord Jesus.
Rather.
And salaries is from Cuba.
And he lived in Montreal for 10 years, went to a number of different places.
And the word broader.
You know the Lord's works by fact, the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Very encouraging.
So let's turn to.
Let's go to Mark.
The Gospel of the Mark.
Last few minutes here. Mark 14.
Part 14 and verse 12.
And the first day of unleavened bread, when they built a household, or his disciples said unto him, Where will thou that we go and prepare for?
And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and stuff unto them. Go ye into the city, and.
There's some you imagine bearing a picture of water. Follow him.
And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the Goodman of the house, the Master says, Where is the guest chamber? Where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples, and he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared. There make ready for us.
Disciples went forth and came into the city, and found, as he had said, into them.
So the question that the disciples asked the Lord Jesus here in verse 12 was, where will thou go and prepare?
And you know it.
Don't turn to the verse. I think you've all we're all familiar with it. And in second Timothy chapter 20, chapter two was 22. It speaks itself then that call on the war kind of a pure heart.
I believe that here the disciples were asking the Lord as a pure heart, where will thou be prepared?
And I believe that that's what every believer needs to do.
Whether it was the disciples back here in Mark 14 and like we've added 22 or whether it's us now 2000 years later.
If we ask if any believer today.
Your part, where will thou go and prepare?
So the word showed the disciples here.
Sent them into the city.
We read and it says he said there so a man meet you. Did he say go into the city and look for a man? He said there is a man, a man will meet you.
Not none, as we've lost her as a picture of security.
And they were a full of his.
Didn't need to look for a place. I didn't need to look for a man.
Just to go into the city and the man would beat them. Because the Spirit of God knows when you ask for your heart, where should I go? He's going to show you. He's going to show you where to go, where to find the worst tank. So they met.
The man was going to meet them, and they would have followed him wheresoever he shall go in and.
And he?
Master of the house, he will show you a large upper room.
Furnished and prepared, That room that they were brought to was already. Lord Jesus has his table already.
It's not something that any group of Christians has to start up for establishing the word. Jesus has it already prepared.
00:55:06
The question is to be one of.
Do we want him to show us where it is or am I going to try to look for it myself? I try to look for it myself. I would probably, very likely end up in a running place.
But if I ask the Lord Jesus said about your heart, where will thou that I go?
Spirit of God will will sow me some of you and go so and we believe where the Lords Table is.
I want to just turn one last verse.
Very familiar course.
Matthew, Chapter 18.
And verse 20.
Well, we're two or three are gathered together in my.
The Lord Jesus said that here to his disciples, for two or three are gathered together in the morning.
Now I.
I'm going to tell you that.
If you look at a French Bible.
The way that reads in French.
When it says our gathering.
And I've checked the service with my French brothers in Montreal.
Wordings in French is extremely clear that it's a, it's an outside force and outside power that does the gathering. You know, in English it's a little bit you can say, well, we're all gathered here. It might just be gathered for some social event.
You know, a group of people were all gathered here.
But in French, when you say our gathering, sometimes someday it means that something gathered something, or somebody gathered you together.
And we know the Spirit of God does the gather.
So if I.
You know, if you and I were to say, well, now let's.
Let's start up a little gathering.
Somewhere else, let's say, and we'll follow everything in the Word of God.
And try to do everything right according to the word of God.
That would be that would be us trying to do together.
It has to be done by the Spirit of God. Spirit of God is the one who has to gather and so it says here where two or three are gathered together.
My name.
That's where the Lord wants us to.
And when the Spirit of God does that?
When he gathers believers together in his name.
The words presence is there.
I can put it this way, the word does not look down and say and see four different groups. I'd say I believe this.
And he doesn't look at it, those four groups and say, well, this one here is the most peaceful, so my presence is going to be there.
What he does as he gathers.
All believers who are willing to be gathered.
By the power of the Spirit of God around himself, His name at his table.
Sometimes we hear the expression.
That we gather on the ground if it went away.
I don't believe that that script.
That we are gathered by the Spirit of God.
And if we're gathered by the Spirit of God, it will be on the ground of the one body.
But I can.
I can't say that I do it myself, and I'm not.
The Assembly as a whole, all members of the Body of Christ throughout the world.
01:00:04
Go on to belongs to him. To the world, his table belongs to him.
A local? A local assembly, right?
Gathered to the name of the Lord Jesus and Corbett.
That little assembly, and there are many.
Here encountered in the US and around the world.
Belongs each little assembly locally belongs to the Lord Jesus himself.
None of us. No group of believers, not ourselves or anyone else.
Say that the assembly belongs to us.
We sometimes say our our symptom or our faith.
But I don't believe that's really what.
Yes, somewhere belongs to him. His table belongs to him.
The desires that every believer might be there gathered to his name around 15.
That's great, Our God and our Father.
We have looked at many verses from my word and we just pray that was exercise each one of our hearts.
Speaker included.
To value the things that we have considered as I were.
And to be like the fibrous.
To be very.
Happy to have been gathered with trust at Timetable.
But to always realize who reduce us?
That it goes to.
And to value the privilege.
Remembering the in my death.
Now it's so easy.
And we ask these things.
Give thanks to the Arab Garden father for the left. I love made this person.
And we do so in the word Jesus Christ, our city.

We want to follow.
Together.
Thank you.
Our souls are free.
Life, strength and grace.
And maybe we have.
For me.
Like to talk for a little while about life?
And to begin.
Perhaps we could go to John's Gospel chapter one.
But I had to put my heart.
First of all was to consider natural labor.
And I believe we see from John chapter one.
That whether it's natural life or spiritual life, as we've come to in talking about this morning.
It all comes from God.
And so here in John chapter one verse one it says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him and without Him was not.
I could also say from other scriptures that in Him is life.
00:05:03
And you know, that really is our most blessed hope.
What? What is life? Well, I suppose it would take in the fact that we are conscious of different things.
Of course we can grow and that sort of thing as well, but as we think of natural life.
You probably break it up into three categories.
So let's go back to Genesis chapter one, where we have.
The the days of creation.
And.
I intend to go through the whole chapter here, but just concentrate a little bit on the appearance of life.
And the first life that we read about is in the first chapter and.
It is.
Verse Well verse 9 This is the third day of creation.
So Genesis 19 God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear. And it was so. And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering together of the waters called the seas, and God saw that it was good.
And God said that the earth bring forth bracks, the herd yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, who see is in itself upon the earth, And it was so. And the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit whose seed was in itself.
After his kind and God saw.
That it was good.
You might say that this is the simplest form of life, plant life.
And.
We find that a plant like animals and like humans.
They have a body.
But that's as far as it goes when it comes to plants. They have a body like.
Blade of grass, It might be a tree, so on.
But we know that animals and humans are of a higher order.
When it comes to a body, you might say that a body gives us world consciousness or environmental consciousness.
I believe that's true of plants. I hear about plants, for example, that grow towards the light.
And things of that nature. So they respond to to certain stimuli which they are exposed.
To very elementary extent.
Check, because we know that the body of an animal or human is much more sensitive than that.
But nonetheless, there is some response, and we can also say that one characteristic of life is that growth.
And so when we think about a plant, it grows.
And I guess not knowing much about biology, it might just say that I understand that it's a matter of cells dividing and and so a plant will grow and get taller and wider and so on, just like other forms of natural weapons.
But again in a more elementary type of way.
Before we leave this because I don't want to go too long on it, there's an interesting verse I do believe in the second chapter.
And verse 5.
Speaking about God's creative work before it was in the earth.
And every herd of the field before it grew.
For the Lord God had not caused it to ring on the earth, and.
There was not a man to fill the ground.
No, it's an interesting thing, just as an aside.
In order for a plant to grow, it has to be in soil.
Now there is such a thing as barren so.
We're nothing wrong.
And why is that? Well, any gardener or farmer would know that you have to have organic type of matter.
00:10:00
In order for the soil to be any good and for plants to grow.
Where does organic matter come from?
It comes from dead plants.
That's interesting.
How is it that these plants could grow if there was nothing in the soil that would have been already alive and it died?
And so we find.
That in order for plants to grow, God created them.
Believe it indicates here that he he created them in in a sense that they were full grown to a great extent. It didn't come from a sea.
But he had to put some kind of organic matter into the soil in order for those plants.
You know, that's a good question to put to the evolutionists.
I could have planted ever evolved if there was nothing for it to grow it.
It's kind of an interesting question.
Single question.
But it shows that God had to create these things.
In order for it all to work.
OK, let's take a look at the second level of life like to consider that's in the first chapter again in verse 20. And here we have what we call animal life. God said let the water spring forth under the the moving creature that half life and the fowl that may fly above the earth in the open permanent of heaven.
And God created great whales.
And every living creature that moveth which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind. And God saw that it was good, And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and with the fowl multiply in the earth. Evening in the morning where the 5th day.
So this was during the 5th day and here we have the creation of animal life.
Members of the animal Kingdom.
Now we find that on the 5th day the animal Kingdom seemed to consist of only birds and fishes.
And at any rate, it's the introduction of a higher order of life.
Because an animal has a body, plate of grass does too. But as we mentioned, the body of an animal is much more sophisticated.
And the volume?
And it responds to many things that are in their environment, for example.
Even the five senses that we have be true of animals at large anyway. I mean, there are some very elementary types of.
Life, which are in the animal Kingdom that may not respond to all things but generally speak.
Talk about a bird or a whale and so on. They can. They can feel as we do.
They can. I think we smell.
There's also taste.
And there's the hearing.
And there's one other feeling, I guess of nice thank you, You can see.
And these are all true of us. That's true.
But animals, at least to a limited extent.
Possess most of those who sentence and so they can react to their environment much more easily.
Then.
And as a result they are able to respond.
That environment, It may mean to flee from danger, it may mean to find food, and so on.
So we find that an animal is much more sophisticated than a plant is.
Now seems to me.
00:15:00
Stand be corrected that this is not correct, but I do not believe that the evolutionists have ever found a link between a plant and then.
I've never read really about a plant turning into an animal.
And that doesn't seem to make much sense. So I don't think there's anything in the fossil record that would ever suggest it.
And so we find that the two are completely distinct.
Yeah, there is another thing about an animal. It has an elementary soul, I guess we could call it.
Because an animal, a lot of animals exhibit emotions and things of that nature. They can remember, for example, if they have been retreated, they can show love, they can be loyal, and so on. These are things that are intangible.
It's not a matter of just their body, but they have something above a plan in the sense that they can exhibit some of these things. Now, again, I don't want to dwell too long on it.
However, I would say that if we identify that as the soul of an animal, I don't believe that it lives forever.
In ecclesiastics it tells us about this, the soul of a beast, that going downward into the earth.
I believe that's an indication that when an animal dies, then it's appreciations that he may have developed over his lifetime.
And the body of course decays in the earth just like it does for a plant.
So.
As we consider these things we can find that not only were the birds and fish created that was on the 5th day, but on the 6th day. If we read further in Genesis chapter one you have in verse 24 it says.
God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind cattle and creeping things.
And beast of the earth after his coming. And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind. And God saw that was good. So the beginning of day six, we have animal life on the earth.
Needed and we're more maybe familiar with such animals and we have domesticated some of them, cats, dogs and so on. And so we're very familiar with this type of life.
And they exhibit, perhaps more so than some others, the characteristics that we've been talking about.
Some of the life that we find in the animal Kingdom is very elementary. You mentioned that before, but it reminds me of a.
Scripture over the book of Acts as Exodus. Sorry, do you think our place here next is? I believe it's Chapter 9.
Sorry, it's Jeffrey.
But it was during the time that Moses aired, and God was working with the king of Egypt and his people to let the Israelites go. And there are many plagues that were done. And you know, some of the first plagues like turning the water into blood and bring up frogs out of the river and so on. It's interesting that the magicians, they could do the same thing.
But the one thing about it was that.
They only made matters worse.
They can only make it worse.
But here in this chapter, we read about the fifth, sorry, the third judgment.
In verse 16.
And here we'll read what took place, Says the Lord said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, and it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so for air, and stretched out his hand with his rod, and smoked the dust of the earth. It became lice and men and in beasts, and all the dust of the land became lice.
00:20:12
All the land of Egypt and the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not.
So there was lice on man and one beast. Then the magicians sit onto Pharaoh. This is the finger of God.
And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened out, and then as the Lord had said, you know, the magicians and all their wisdom and trickery and so on, they could not create life.
This is pretty elementary of life.
Vice. And yet they could not produce that, and they had to admit this is the finger of God.
This is the figure.
You know, God himself is a giver of life. Man may try his best to create some kind of life. And there's all kinds of experiments that have been done, multitudes of experiments, and they cannot come near to the simplest set.
And not make anything that is actually alive and I believe that will be truly throughout man's history right at the end. I don't believe that man will ever be able to create life. I believe that is something God will.
Reserved for himself.
And not give to another.
So man, in all his wisdom, he cannot be enlightened.
He can make artificial intelligence.
So much that people in general, they think that a man might accomplish something of that sort. And it does speak about that image in the temple and the time of the great tribulation speak and so on. But we have those kinds of machines.
They don't grow, they're not alive.
The mechanic.
And that's as close I believe that man will ever get.
But enough do you see people in that coming day?
So here.
The magicians, they they realize something that has remained a law of science and never been disproved, and that is that life only comes from life.
It does not come from something that is nonliving.
Now knowing that and that being a law that they observed yet.
They are stubborn. I can use that word to think that life belongs.
Non living matter.
It can't be.
It's against their very principles. It's against their very laws.
That's not science.
Science is based upon factual information and repetitive experience.
So who has devised an experiment where life has come from non living matter?
Not one.
And I don't believe in ever.
Because God is reserved to himself, I do believe.
Giver of life.
Let's go on to a little further in Genesis chapter one and verse 26 and here we find until we say the apex of natural life in the creation of a man. So in verse 26 it says God said let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion of the fish of the sea and over the foul air and over the cattle and.
The earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth. So God created man in his own image and the image of God created he him male and female created he them. And then over in chapter 2 verse 7, the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.
And man became a living soul. Doesn't say that about the animals, even though in an elementary way I think we.
00:25:07
Agree that there is some indication of a soul, we can call it that, and an animal, but this is different. Man became a living soul.
And I believe that what we find out from other scriptures and from the justice verse that the soul that is given to a man is a never dying soul.
It's a soul that goes on. We mentioned in ecclesiastics about the beast. The spirit goes down into the earth, but it tells us that the spirit of a man goes upward.
And that it returns unto God who gave it.
So I believe that shows that man is a very responsible creature before the.
And we know that from Scripture. Let's turn to a Dover in First Thessalonians.
That man is Triune. That is made-up of three parts.
In First Thessalonians chapter 5.
And verse 23.
It says the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God, your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved, blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You know, when it comes to a person, a man, a woman.
I believe that there's much that we can see that puts the creation of man.
And the abilities of man and so on. So far above the animals. Definitely above lands, but definitely two above animals.
Because when it comes to the soul of a man, there are, well, let's say body first. There are all the senses and there are all things that we do in order to protect ourselves. We've, you know, clothing to keep us warm, houses to dwell in and so on. So we respond to the things around us, our environment, and we're able to do that quite easily.
Because God has given us an intelligence.
And I believe that.
That is part of the spirit that he's given to us. But also the soul of a man can appreciate many things that an animal cannot. For example, the soul of a man is such that he's able to appreciate you.
They can look at creation and and wonder. He can search out the things that God has made and the result should be to give God more.
For the marvelous wisdom that we see in the things that God is made.
We know that that man has the ability to love.
Should know what is good, right?
And so these things, I believe, show us.
That man has a soul which is more developed if you like, use that term and then that of banana.
In an elementary way, animals may exhibit some of that, but I believe that the appreciation and the production of things that are beautiful.
That God has given to us is an example of the fact that our souls are more complex than that of an animal.
But you know, there's a sad part of the soul of a man and.
Is that you may be able to love.
But he can also lost.
You can do things that are or.
Appreciate things that are sinful that are not according to what God had in mind.
When he made a soul to name.
You know, it's a little difficult to say.
What is under the hitting of a soul in a man? In a spirit in a man?
Soul and spirit are a little difficult for us to discern sometimes under what hitting we should play something.
00:30:09
However, God has no problem with that.
We're in Hebrews.
Hebrews chapter.
Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 12.
The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit.
And of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight of all things are negative open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do you know it is kind of interesting that verses verse 12.
Is talking about the word of God, but in verse 13 it's talking about a person.
No doubt that's the word Jesus Christ, that's God. So what is really saying is that God can discern between the soul and spirit. We have a little difficulty sometimes with that because it's hard to establish under which, you know, the characteristics of an exhibit might fall.
What about the spirit in a man?
Well, I believe that in one sense it bears upon the intelligence that man gives.
And is more intelligent than these.
For example, he has to. He has the ability to solve complex problems. He has the ability to communicate in a higher order than animals do.
He has the ability to write down.
A communication He has the ability to invent things that are useful in life.
Sad to say, in some cases and things that are destroyed.
And so there's kind of two sides to Earth, a human being.
Because there's that which is good, that which is intended to be good, to be used for an evil purpose cases.
He has a desire to resolve mysteries.
He has a desire to understand his environment. He's able to figure out.
The laws that God has placed.
Is in, is increasing and able to use those to make sophisticated instruments, build beautiful buildings, and so on.
Yeah, Why is it that a person that believes in evolution could imagine that?
An animal and turn into a man somewhere along the way. I don't matter how many years they want to tack on.
Matter because there's such a vast difference between an animal and a man.
Think of.
Think of the difference between a plant and an animal.
Is it not the same between an animal and a man?
The same the same difficulty arises.
No, it's strange.
Scientists and they look at a chimpanzee and picks up a couple rocks and he bangs them together. He's learning to use tools.
All that is so far below what man is able to do.
It's ridiculous.
No, there's a quote. I would quote it exactly, but just a bit is this.
Followed by the name of Stephen Rule, well known.
Geologists. I guess you'd call him anthropologist.
Please completely an evolutionary theory and so on. When he made this statement not too long ago, he said there is not in the fossil record of complete transition from one plant to another or one animal to another.
There is not one example of a.
Complete transition.
00:35:00
We've heard about what they call missing like.
And there's always a mission.
So behind that, you know, the theories of men don't really have too much.
When they leave.
I thought it would be interesting just to consider those things for a little bit because young people are bombarded.
A theory.
Which is a bad theory, scientifically speaking, but presented as fact.
And that that's a sad thing, because there are a lot of scientists that recognize that evolution just could not happen.
They realize that.
Their livelihood in some cases and.
Their fame, if I would put it that way they are funded, would be cut off.
If they admitted that.
Because they have a theory which cannot be proven.
Held on to and they're willingly ignorant.
Of the fact that there is a gun.
Whom they are responsible? To whom we all are responsible?
You know, when it comes to a man, he has, as we mentioned already, a never dying soul.
Spirit and as a result.
Everyone of us must give an account himself before God.
And we have to be aware of that.
You know we can live for self in this world.
But the end is the way of destruction.
God says it is a president wants to die, but after death the judgment is a judgment to be.
Have we considered?
Thank God it was a time in the spirit of God, worked in my own heart when I'm very young.
And I recognize, you know, that in hearing these things, but I was not right.
And I needed help.
And reading the word of God and hearing those that would preach the gospel, I came to realize that there is a Savior.
I can't do anything to save myself, it's not possible.
But another has stepped in.
And he's taken the punishment which I deserve.
So that I.
So then I don't have to worry about the sins that I've committed. I'm ashamed of those things, and I ought to be, because I believe that's part of what repentance is, being ashamed of what we've done and what we are.
But to recognize that the holiness of God has been insulting.
And there's no other way that I can come into favor with God and my.
Accepting the Lord Jesus Christ is the one who died of the.
See, and made me wholly without blame before God.
Gosh, that's a wonderful gospel grace of God.
Will a person go on in their sins and leave this world?
You know, if you read John 3 carefully, you'll find what's stated there is. Simply put, he that hath the Son hath life. He that hath not, the Son hath nothing. Pretty simple, straightforward.
And the reason I believe for that is the fact that God has had the greatest possible cost.
Provided away, they're finding emphasis to the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. And will we set it aside and say, I'll make my own way?
You know what the Lord Jesus said at one time? He says if you don't believe what he and you'll die in your sins.
And where I am here, you cannot.
What an awful thing die in your sins.
Well, thank God I can say I don't have to worry about that many here, I'm sure. I hope all are able to say the same thing.
Never die in my sins because they were laid up by.
And he paid full price in his flood watches. Wet snow.
00:40:02
Taking maybe more time than intended, but I just want to say two things about another kind of life.
And that's eternal life.
You know the Lord Jesus in general, Chapter 11.
He said to Mary, I believe it was or Martha, it was Martha believe that the grave of Lazarus. And he said I am the resurrection and the light.
He that they leave within me shall never die. No, that's true of those that are Christians and are alive, and the Lord Jesus comes.
Never tonight be a wonderful thing if we were alive and remain like Paul put it.
My Lord Jesus comes but he also said if there are those that are dead and know Him, have believed in Him, then they will be given to life eternal just to.
Get it completely correct? Let's look up the verse there and John Chapter 11.
I got your 11 verse 25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life.
He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. That's resurrection to life. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Perhaps an indication of those that will be alive.
Regardless, it's a promise of life. What kind of life? Kind of like we enjoy here, they say, enjoying quotation marks. Because there are times of sadness, there's times in the truth.
What kind of life are we talking about? Eternal life. And eternal life just doesn't mean everlasting, it means that there is a quality to it.
A quality which allows us to appreciate things that are spiritual, things that are of God.
We've been told already in the morning meeting how that do we have a new nature given to us on the league.
It's a very life, divine life.
And that's the beginning of our eternal life.
Fortunately, you don't always live the good of that while we're here in this world because there's the flesh still with us and unfortunately it raises its ugly head at times. But there will be a time when we will be released from these things.
No reminds me of a verse in Revelation. I'll just let me read it.
In Revelation 21 and verse four, it says God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.
That's the kind of life that I want.
Not just everlasting in this world. Pretty sad place at times.
But a life where I can enjoy heaven.
Put it simply. Or I can enjoy the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Perhaps just to kind of finish up school over to John's Gospel chapter 17.
I believe here's an indication of what I mean by quality.
That's associated with eternal life.
John 17 verse 3 This is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God.
Jesus Christ, who now is sin?
That's eternal life. That's the quality of eternal life, Appreciating things that are full, appreciating things that are of God.
We can live in the good of that.
Some extent, but here in this world we see through a glass darkness.
Be a time when we shall see face to face and we'll understand much better and it'll cause us to praise God eternally.
Just brings to mind a verse which I really.
Really loud and assume that Ephesians chapter 2.
00:45:05
Depend on this Ephesians chapter 2.
And I'm impressed by this authorities that are in these verses, Ephesians 2 and verse 4.
God, who is rich in mercy.
For his great love were with you, with us even when we were dead, and sins have quickened us together with Christ. By grace ye are saved, has raised us up, yet made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace.
In his kindness towards through Christ Jesus, for thy grace are you saved through faith.
And that not of yourselves it is the gift of.
I really believe that when you read verses like that, it should stir our hearts up.
And draw herself toward the world, Jesus Christ and what you've done before us and God. I see.

We can't add too much to, but brother Darrell said very good.
I just like to.
You know to do more scriptures on that thoughts that he had.
And very important because living in a day, of course.
The enemy has always.
Tried to introduce lots of evolution to us, one form or another, but.
We get our answers for all these things is the Word of God. Word of God makes things clear to us.
Where the world can give you a theory, give you an idea.
It's up to you whether you want to leave it or not.
Not too many years ago.
Scientists would.
Speak it as a as a given truth that.
You know man cross the grading of species.
From a bird to a fish to a bird and a bird to a man and so on.
These are things that were readily taught, but.
Science. Science now has.
He loved all these things.
They know they're not true, but yet they still give it out as being truth, knowing that.
People that are willingly ignorant will believe those things.
They themselves, real true sciences today, know through science that those thoughts and things that they taught years ago are not true.
With the discovery of DNA.
Too many years ago, scientists have traced back.
As far as they can go with.
DNA of a woman and scientists will take that right back to one woman.
Can't tell you where she came from, but the Bible can.
They trace that DNA back.
Same with Ben.
DNA goes back.
To just one.
That's how God started things with one.
And so the most scientists today will agree to intelligent design.
They'll believe that something had to.
Design.
The human body.
And design the things that they discovered just couldn't happen.
But I think Darrell mentioned too that.
Because of fear of losing their jobs, because of fear of the press and other things, they they still go on with the idea about evolution to keep their jobs. But most scientists today.
No, that is not true. I just like to look at a few verses in.
Corinthians 15.
Verse 35 just do with the resurrection, but in this.
Truth of resurrection There's a lot brought out in this that we.
Spirit of God has brought to our our souls, so it says. But some men will say, how are the dead raised up? With what body do they come?
A pool that which solace does not quicken except to die.
Knowing all that's true, the farmers planning puts a seed into the ground. That seed dies, and then out of it comes up a new prop. If he plants a rice seed in the ground, it's not going to produce wheat.
And he puts weed into the ground, the seed of wheat in the ground, not to produce barley it's going to produce.
Whatever the Lord has to determine that seed to produce.
That's what it will produce.
And so the same with us, the Lord Jesus, he was a corn of wheat. He said, Accept the corn of the wheat, fall into the ground and die. It invited alone, but if it die, it readeth forth. Watch fruits. Oh, we know that the Lord Jesus was referred to. He referred to himself as a part of the wheat.
00:05:07
A human.
Prove and he died, went into the ground, and when he came out of that tomb resurrection, he brought with him a whole family while here today.
I found you.
Be more like truth.
And every believer worldwide mentions part of that body of Christ, and it's going to be raised up and we're going to be with him for eternity. But if he had not gone into the ground and died, there would be no fruit.
Through God's glory, but because the Lord Jesus went in the grounded tie gave his life. Here's my fruit for God.
And so the farmers plant their crops. If they refuse to plant the the seed, there's no fruit, There's famines, people die and so.
These things are determined. The resurrection is for us is the same. We go into the ground. Eventually the body dies, but we're told we're going to be we're going to be raised again. We're going to be given a new body here I mentioned fashion on like his glorious body.
But here it says.
Verse 37 that we sell so so it's not that body that shall be, but fair grain. It may chance of weed or some other grain, but God giveth it a body as it is please him and to every seed his own body.
And it says here that all flesh is not the same flesh.
This is what evolutionists used to teach, that fish could somehow come out of the ocean, roll eggs and turn into a a bird and fly away. And then eventually a bird would coat feathers and arms and legs and so on and turned into a man.
God tells us that that is impossible. Says here that all flesh is not the same flesh. There is one kind of flesh of men, one kind of flesh of men that God has given to man that's different from a bird or different from fish, one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, and another of fishes, another of birds, all with their own kind.
God has created every kind.
After his kind. And so a fish can only breed other fish and breed a bird and breed anything else with fish after his kind. And so that's the way God has ordered things.
In this scene, and that's the way things still are, even though today man is trying to change the sex of a man, the sex of a woman.
It's not not possible. I heard one brother say that.
You're the shovel. You're the Chevy truck in his yard.
So I can go out, I can take off the job sample and I can put a port on there.
Doesn't make it a port. It's still a chef. I'll get all chef parts.
Under the hood, still a chef and so.
Man or woman can alter themselves.
Which is a ridiculous thing. I believe all of themselves in some way, but.
God, There's still the way that God had made them at the beginning. They're either a man or they're a woman. There's nothing in between. Nothing in between. You're a man or you're a woman. God has only made that 2 distinctions.
So we have here.
Same with.
Celestial bodies, there are bodies that are addressed your own and you know, the glory of the siesta and one is the glory of the terrestrial is another. So we have the mountains and the hills and everything that we can see around us, Crestor creation of God. And then we have this, the actual creation and we look into the sky at night and see the moon and the stars and all the planets and everything.
That's another part of God's creation, but they're separate from one another. They have their own distinctions. And God has given an order to everything that he created is placed everything on a certain order. And we can be thankful for that. When we get up in the morning, we know that the sun is going to come in the east in 12 hours or so. It's going to go down in the West, and we can count on that sun coming up every morning and going down at night.
00:10:23
And we can count on a lot of other things.
I was taken from the plants and everything that we do is we.
Use God's order of things to plan our lives and plan our day. God has placed that order there for us.
And.
So go down here to verse 42. There's a resurrection of the dead sown in corruption, raised, and incorruption.
And sown in dishonor.
Raised in glory, you know, there's not much honor, is it? When someone dies and the body is laid there, it's not very honoring, is it? But you know, the Lord doesn't come. We all may go that way eventually. It's not that honoring the body lying there like it is, but it goes into the ground. But it's not going to stay that way.
Eventually the shouts going to give and be given and that body is going to be raised up and changed and fashioned on the Christ glorious body. When a change is going to be given to that body of humiliation, when it's gone into the ground, it's not going to stay that way because of what Price has done.
He went into the ground, He was like corn, wheat that died so that we could have eternal life and we're going to be raised and given a body just like his. I'm not going to have any error. Brought that out no more and something and so on.
So it's sewn a natural body to raise a spiritual body. There's a natural body, there's a spiritual body and someone were raised. We're going to be given a spiritual body like the Lord's body.
Into the ground, a natural body, but when it comes out it's going to be a spiritual body. It's like the Lords.
So it was written the 1St man. Here we have.
Evolution debunked again.
The first man, Adam.
So first man with no other man before Adam.
The Lord says here it was the first man, Adam.
So it's written, the 1St man, Adam was made a living soul.
The last atom, a quickening spirit.
Says verse 47, the 1St man is of the earth earthly, the 2nd man is the Lord from heaven.
Read of the first man here Adam, and we read of the 2nd man from heaven, the Lord Jesus, which means there was no other man before Adam and it would be no other man after the Lord Jesus.
It was the first man and it was a second man.
And both of them were heads of recreation.
Adam was ahead of.
The natural creation that God had made, and he was given authority over that creation, and he failed to administer that authority He sent and caused old creation to collapse.
The Lord Jesus.
Adam was a created being.
Jesus that came down was a creator. He was a creator himself that came down the last man.
Lord Jesus, be no other races of men after Christ the last man but.
Spiritual man and he has a spiritual race of people.
That he has taken over himself. You and I, we're not natural anymore. Once we were saved, put our trust in the Lord Jesus. We're part of the spiritual creation, the new creation. Therefore, if any man be in Christ is a new creation, create a creature or a new creation. All things are passed away. Behold, all things are become the.
And so.
As the Earth.
48 As busy earthly such as they also that are earthly, and as a heavenly such as they also.
That are the heavenly.
00:15:00
We have borne the image of the earthly. That's our bodies. We have age that we have from Adam, and we have failed just as Adam. Everyone here has to say we have failed just as Adam did. We all have sinned. Lord Jesus, they've come short of His glory.
We will also bear the image of the heavenly.
So there's a change that takes place when we put our trust in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are changed from the earthly.
Man, Adam into a heavenly man, a spiritual man in Christ Jesus.
Change takes place.
Just like.
Is given to us by new birth, but something like a picture of the butterfly.
Cocoon changes back out. It's brand new new.
Creature altogether.
And so.
This is what the Lord Jesus has done. But what?
Brother Darryl has spoken on what we have here debunks any kind of foolishness in the thoughts of man that there's anything else in this world but the creation of the of God, what he has given to man, and it's ruination because of sin and the new creation which Christ brought in a new man from heaven.
Parables in Matthew

The minutes of my name.
Matthew 13.
We have the story here parables and I was just thinking of this the brothers were speaking and vote for Lord coming forth as the.
Is this solar going forth the soul?
I'll try to be brief about it.
And.
In Matthews Gospel, of course we have.
The introduction of the Kingdom of heaven and we have this preaching going forth so before we get to 13, let's just touch on a couple of verses. In chapter 3 there's a verse and it's John the Baptist introducing here and.
And he says, verse two, he's coming forth preaching in the wilderness and saying, repent he for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.
And then the 4th chapter I believe.
We have verse 17, the Lord Jesus himself taking up the same preaching. This is chapter four of four and verse 17 of Matthew. From that time Jesus began to preach and to say repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.
To Dolores has come into the into the world and he has come into his own and it's strictly, strictly his own. The Jewish people are the field of Israel here, as we see in the 10th chapter, he jumped there for one verse or a couple of verses actually.
Before these.
The 1204 to preach the gospel. This is what the Lord tells them in verse.
Verse five these 12 Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, go not into the way of the Gentiles and into any city of the Samaritans entering ye not go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel and actually go preach saying the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.
And so on. So we're Laura has come back and he's preaching that the Kingdom would be set up if they would receive them. So he's he's coming, as it were to.
To arm this.
And he set up his Kingdom and to rule.
Deliver his own and to rule for a millennial period. Anyway, in the 12Th chapter we get the.
You might say the fruit and that there's a turning away from him. We know that story well. And so in the verse 24, you might say it says, but when the Pharisees heard it, they said this fellow does not cast the devil's reply Beelzebub, the Prince of the devils. So all the Lord Jesus has done by the Spirit of God.
They're now accrediting to the elves and not that he's operating by the Prince of the Devils.
So you might say it's a closing chapter in that way, the nation of Israel, but it's not over. We know that. And so we see this, I believe pictured at the end of the chapter before the parables are brought up. We have this little scene that's good to see it because it sort of.
Allows us to understand the nature, you might say, of Matthew's Gospel. So when verse 46.
Well, they get talked to the people. Behold, his mother and his brethren stood without desiring to speak with him.
And one said to unto him, Be all thy mother, and thy brethren stand without desiring to speak with me. And the answer then said unto him, That told him, Who is my mother?
I know where are my brethren.
And he stretched forth his hand toward the disciples, and said, The old, my mother and my brethren.
And whosoever shall do the will of my father, which is in heaven, the same as my brother and my sisters and my mother. So these were his natural family who were coming to him and my relationship. So they represent the people, the people of Israel. And so now there's no natural claim. He came, came onto his own and someone received them not.
They charged him instead of being the the.
The servant of the Elizabeth. So now he says, who are my, who is my mother, who are my sisters and my brothers? And he points to his disciples, those who did receive pain.
The disciples are those I believe you might stay on the those who for the sea flying to good ground. And so now in the next chapter, he brings up this parable and the first one. We won't spend much time in it all and simply say that what we have here in the first three, at the end of it, the only sore went forth to sow, and as he sold, some fell by the wayside.
00:05:23
And then we have verse 5. Some fell in Stony places.
And then there's others that fell among thorns in verse seven and verse 8. Some fall down but ground to me this first parable.
Is a.
Synopsis of what had just taken place, that John the Baptist, his disciples himself, had gone forth sowing the good seed.
And most of it fell Iran and waste places around Stony ground. And there was no production, no response, no fruit is a word except for those of his disciples. A few mentioned this morning about the 120 that were in the upper room, for example. These were some of the the good, the good seed. Now there's other three other parables there and I believe they go together and I won't speak with them at all except to say I believe.
Parables up to terrors and the.
A Mustard Seed and 11 To me, it's characteristic of the story that will be finished with Israel, the remnant that will be saved and brought in. I think it's it's it's it's.
Storage for it's.
Of Judaism character and I like to finish with the galactic variables, which to me I've enjoyed this being strictly Christian in nature. So I like to go to the last three parallels and bring this in. We met we had that verse earlier in in Genesis the let us make man now Remy's so we see the Trinity.
At work in in the first field, we might say in Eden.
Believe here in Christianity in verse 44 and 45 and 47. I believe we see the Trinity at work at the the end. So so now the the Kingdom of heaven will take on a a change as after 12Th chapter with Israel and the picture for a while and they'll switch now to those who are beyond Israel, they'll say the Gentiles of the nations and so on. And so here we have very briefly.
Again verse 44 Let's say again the Kingdom of heaven.
Is like unto a treasure hidden the field, the witch when a man has found, he eyed it, and for joy thereof loweth. And so all that heath, and by that field I really see that as as the Father, This is God the Father. I work here who is purchasing the field. And I almost heard thoughts on these. I've enjoyed them all and I see that as that.
That the treasure is, you might say, the good seed that's in the field.
And so the Father wanted this good seed, and so he asked to Princess the whole field. And what a cost to himself He has to give his only begotten Son before Jesus Christ to buy that field. That's the price of the Father. And.
We say we cannot limit that price in any way in our minds because we know ourselves and our own children just in natural ways that what we would pay to rescue our children.
Keep them from the internal harm and so on. We we give our lives, most of us would certainly for that reason. Here's the Father. He pays that price of giving his only begotten Son to buy the field, because there is a treasure in the field now. 45.
Is different the game the Kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man seeking could be pearls, but when he had found one Pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. This I believe is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
We had come into this world seeking goodly pearls as the first 12 Chapters.
That's his red.
But it could not find us. It were the Gridley pearls. But he finds 1A Pearl of freight price which we know collectively. It's the church, it's the born again believers, the bride of Christ. And So what does he do? He says he went and sold all that he had and bought it. The Lord Jesus Christ laying down his life.
00:10:01
He so loved the church. I so loved the church. They gave us life for it.
Had a portion this is this is their topic of course, in these meetings is by the Lord Jesus Christ has done and when he has brought us into this heard about the first Adam first creation and we it was mentioned too about the the last atom right and some of you may realize why they're called Adams because it's two creations. Adam is the head of the first creation and the last time that was the Lord Jesus. He's the head of the last creation.
Creation so we are now heavenly people. So there's an earthly people and there's an heavenly people and we should not get the two confused in Scripture. So anyway, I've enjoyed these things and now we have last 147 and again the Kingdom of heaven is like unto enhanced that is cast into the sea and gather them every kind which when it was when it was full, they drew it to shore and sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
Social would be at the end of the age and so on. Well, this to me is the parable of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has gone forth and then as we know, as we see in the book of last, for example, many are gathered in, some are real believers, not all are. There are the Simon Magnus and those that come in as well able to be baptized. What have you? So the net is asked why then many are drawn in.
But in the end, there will be a separation and there will be the good. You might say the good.
Good seed.
And they'll be gathered in and the rest, which we know will be lost each other 20 away. I thought I would just mention that accordingly. It's a beautiful topic there. I enjoy that. And we shouldn't be able to say. That's why I'm going to say it because it's one of the things I enjoy when I first heard that topic before. And that is with the plants. There's no, there's no God recognition whatsoever.
You're with the animals are conscious of each other.
You know, go out there and step on a flower and kill it. The other flowers won't gather around moreover, but the animals do. They think they have a sense of of identity and they have a sense of group as well that they gather together.
But there's no God consciousness in the sense they can respond. They will respond.
To the Lord, you have that in Scripture, but there's not, there's no worship. You'll say the animals were banned, there isn't. He has a spirit, there's a God consciousness.
With men, none of the others in the mineral Kingdom.
Vegetable Kingdom, Northern animal Kingdom ads, right? So instead of. Anyway, it's a beautiful topic, I think.
Thank you.
And you can see #4.
#4.
There God had built a mountain or race of fruitful health.
Well, my.
Name is friend Thorstein.
And from about the swelling of oceans might take flight.
In my way tonight.
So the Father's pleasure and mindless.
00:15:14
I consolidated.
With creatures such as we.
Do when we start this world and they'll be through a tree.
Outside the Mall of the World.
I'd just like to clarify something that may have been confusing that I said in the.
The address.
Concerning meeting on the ground of the one body.
If I could put her in another way it might be clearer.
Our desire should be to meet.
To meet on the ground of the one body.
But I believe that depends.
Not on how correctly or scripturally we need ourselves, but it depends on being gathered by the Spirit God. If we are gathered by the Spirit of God it will be on the ground of my body and not smoking church being.
Desire.
One other thing, I got a text from my daughter Melita this afternoon and the doctors have discovered that.
Micah has a double ear infection.
And that is probably what's causing the problem.
Which was a great relief to me.
We thank your loving God and Father for the time together here. We thank you for the our brethren here Newfoundland to invite us.
To be with them.
Enjoy thoughts of the Lord Jesus together.
We thank you, blessed Savior, for.
With thousands accomplished on the cross of Calvary.
Remember our benefit?
We thank you that you can come together.
In this way to enjoy the.
You give me praise and Thanksgiving, who thou art all the dolphins.
It's done for us, Blessed Savior, and those ages to come to enjoy Thy presence.
We look forward to a time when I will have Thy rightful place rule over this scene of righteousness.
And so we do thank you for the thoughts that have been brought before us. We pray that Thou might keep our hearts minds indeed. Blessed Lord, Thou provide grace for us, each one, young and old, for the pathway to encourage the hearts of each one to go on to need these last days. Soon we know that shall begin, perhaps this very day.
We will leave the scene forever.
So we just.
Met these things today, we asked all Thanksgiving and I worthy and precious name, Lord Jesus.
00:20:07
I.
Gospel 1
Gospel—Mats Hong
DISCLAIMER: The following has been auto-transcribed. We hope it will help you to find the section of this audio file you are looking for.
Welcome everyone to the Gospel this evening, and let's start with a.
#18 at the back of this new book.
Most of us.
First few most good songs that we haven't learned.
18 in the back.
Jesus loves me.
Jesus loves me.
Yeah.
The Bible tells me so.
Maybe you die ever escape to open wide you will. Why shall away my sin?
Little child coming.
Yes.
I was made. Your dreams are smiles me.
Yes.
Shining. Oh my God.
He will watch me where I live.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes.
Why don't tells me so?
Inside this flowers made rose beside me all the way.
And I trust in should I die?
Good news.
Really is the greatest love story.
For us, the love that God had for us doesn't matter who you are, doesn't matter what you did.
But you're full and rich. You're famous or not, whether you're young or old or.
All the things you did.
But God, stuff is the same for you tonight.
Opportunities once again to open God's Word once again to share God's love story to us.
Ask God to help us.
A God and Father we.
Thank you once again.
For the love that you have bought.
Even though we were another goal.
10 Lord Jesus die voice.
The weekend.
So that we can have a home in heaven.
Just pray for help. Just reopen your word, the Bible, tonight.
That's we open, Yes, open heart.
To see you.
Yes, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we pray.
Do you believe in God?
But that is the first thing.
You might if you don't.
Then this probably weird thing.
00:05:00
Will not mean much to you.
This is the will of God.
And let's start from the very beginning.
Genesis chapter one.
With one.
Genesis chapter one, verse one.
In the beginning.
God created the heaven and the earth.
Whether you believe in God or not does not change.
Will God tell us though?
Not by my opinion on the will of God.
And as we look at the wonderful beauties around us in this island.
And at the main stars.
And see this wonderful creation.
And.
Even as sometimes you look at the animals around us.
At this time of year, you know how to work. There's lots of Canada gear stuff. I **** ***.
You see them in the nice patterns.
You ever seen?
Even the very well trained snowboard pilots. Sometimes accident happens.
In God's marvelous creation.
Everything in harmony and perfection.
Even we only get only small claims of.
Now let's turn to Psalm 139.
Oh, 139.
And worse.
14.
I will praise you.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Marvelous are their works.
You can see the creations around us.
We've seen much wonderful creation within us.
It's really scientists research more and more.
Into subjects that your DNA.
The complexity of it.
Do you believe in God?
You know, I was one at one point.
There's no.
No.
Sometime, I guess when I grew up, I learned from school seemed to be very contrary to what's teach in the Bible.
It seemed like things just came into being.
Dennis.
And he in his perfect wisdom.
Created us the complexity and the wisdom that go into all the creation.
It is more than.
Let's turn to Romans chapter one.
Romans chapter one. Let's read first.
20.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world I clearly sin, being understood by the things they have made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
Even if you have never read the word of God.
Yet God's creation is a testimony.
Him.
Today in this country with the freedom and liberty.
We also have the kids to work back here.
00:10:00
It was don't get more than single.
Let's turn to Genesis again, Chapter 2.
Read about God created heaven and the earth.
Genesis chapter 2.
Read about.
After God created.
And here is.
After God created Adam and here is the.
What the instruction gave to.
Genesis chapter 2, verse 15.
And the Lord God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying of every tree of the.
Of the tree of the knowledge of good, and shall instead of thus.
And then we turn to Chapter 3.
So gone.
Got in a meeting, it will be everything.
You got an except one. Put up one tree.
But here we read about how things came into this world in chapter 3.
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had been.
And he said unto the women.
Yay, that God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden.
Women said unto the servant, We may eat of the fruit of the tree of the garden, of the food of the tree which is the midst of the garden. God has said, He shall not eat of it, neither shall he touch it. This he died. And the serpent said unto the world, Ye shall not surely die.
For God that knows that in the day he is there, and your eyes shall be opened.
And ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the women saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took off the foot there off, and they eat, and gave also unto her husband with her. And he did he.
There's five in this chapter.
Surfing.
Said that.
He shall be as God.
Here.
He is the serpent.
What means a lot?
Say is the creator of the.
Big news, you bring in something that's not true.
And bring doubt into Adam and Eve.
That's what I'm saying.
To God's Word.
Oh, you mean?
It's time to Romans chapter 3.
Roman chapter 3.
23.
Of all that sin and.
Come short of God.
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Hey, we look into our hub.
Even a little child doesn't take long.
00:15:07
Another child.
I want to standard we all come fell short. We understand, all have seen sure the glory of God.
Tonight if I ended the meeting here.
Just bad news, not good news. The glory of God.
Thank you. Thank you God.
Is, by the way, to save us from our sins?
So let's turn to Genesis chapter 3.
After Adam and Eve.
Saying.
Provide a picture.
In Genesis chapter 3.
You eat from us.
21.
Unto Adam also, and to his wife, did the Lord God for me.
Of skins and cold stuff.
Animal.
Die still dumb, so let's let's chat.
So that life was made that time.
It's a picture that God has.
That's in order for God to save us from our sins.
There will be a substitute for this.
Let's turn to Matthew.
Matthew, Chapter one.
First time he won.
God has the plan since the beginning.
Here.
We come into place.
God chapter in Matthew chapter one, verse 21.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus.
He shall say his his people from their sins.
We cannot save us.
We all come short before you come.
But God in his love and grace.
And his son to be.
Another man be born.
Jesus.
He shall save his people from their sins.
Let's read John chapter 19.
The Lord Jesus lived on this earth for 33 years. Live a perfect life.
He's perfect. Late alarm on this earth.
That's why we need to turn to here.
Chapter 19.
He went on to the course.
And he suffered.
Handsome man.
More importantly.
He was on the cross.
Doing those three hours of darkness.
He also suffered.
The righteous judgment of God of our sins.
And at the end of those three hours, we can't.
In John chapter 19 verse 30.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said It is finished, and he bowed his head.
The ghost is finished.
The work of redemption.
The work to for us to peace with God.
Lord Jesus, and accomplish on the force the gift of salvation is able to freely offer to you.
00:20:04
The question would you and me?
Let's turn to 1St Corinthian.
15.
First Corinthians chapter 15 verse.
Free, for I deliver unto you first of all that which I also receive at that price. Die for our sins, according to the scriptures.
And that he was buried. And then he rose again the third day according to scriptures.
And he and that he was Saint of cyclists. Then of the 12 after that he was seen.
Of the vote 500 reading at once.
Of whom the greater part remain under this present.
But some are fell asleep. After that he was seen of jeans and of all the apostles.
Last of all, it was saying of me also as of one point of due time, the apostle Paul wrote.
The Lord Jesus, you die on the frogs. And then he was there.
God rose him from the dead.
The V1 over sin and death.
And he was seen by witnesses.
Any witnesses?
After he rose from the day as a proof.
His country overseeing.
And this message.
Today about the gospel, the good news, the gift of God, of salvation.
It's only been offered since.
Over 2000 years.
It has its effect on people.
Some except this gift of salvation, say yes to the Lord Jesus. Say no.
Let's just read some of the example. Let's turn to Acts chapter 16.
X16 verse.
26.
Here for and one of us was in the.
It gets put into jail. Point silence was put into jail. Here again, verse 26.
Suddenly there was a quick earthquake, so that the foundations for the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were open and everyone stands to produce. And the keeper of the prison awakened all of his sleep, and seeing the prison door open, he drew out his soul and would have killed himself, opposing that the prisoners had been threatened.
The Paul cried with a loud voice saying, do thyself no harm, for we are all here.
And he called for life. Yeah.
Bring in came trembling, and fell down before Paul and silence, and bought them out and said, Sir, what must I do, you say?
I mean this question been asked by many people.
Sir, what does I do to be safe?
And they said, indeed, under law, Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.
That helps.
And they spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night to wash their stripes, and was baptized in all his straightway. And when he had bought them into his house, he said, Meet before them and rejoice, believing God with all his health.
Earlier than that, he was the one that laid the spade for his silence.
Now he was rejoicing to wash their wounds.
His life and his family's name was changed.
Oh, that, that kid for salvation.
He asked what he can do. I think he need to do.
00:25:03
No money you can pay that, no work you can do to have peace with God yourself.
In sponsorship it's all finished, just like I read the Lord Jesus, the last pride before his death is finished the work of.
Redemption is all complete.
Now we see we need to accept it and believe.
And then we hear Paul Rd.
And.
The gospel message of how he.
One time he was the one that prosecute Bishop.
He was the one that put them in jail. He was the one at the scene of stoning.
Of Stephen, first murderer.
He was dead.
God met him on his way to Damascus.
And he he was flying for three days.
But he split your eyes open. He was able to see beauty in the Lord Jesus, the Son of God.
Instead of prosecuting the Christian, he became a Christian and went on suffer many things to preach the gospel, to tell others about the Lord Jesus and how to appease with God and how to have their sins wash away. He was changed.
Also read in First Thessalonians.
All.
First Thessalonians chapter one. Sorry.
And the Thessalonians testimony?
Nine or they themselves show of us what manner of anything in what we had unto you, and how you trust how you turn to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, when He raised on the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Here the Thessalonians.
People saw changes in their life.
They turn away from worshipping idols into worshipping the One.
To go and to wait.
But the Lord Jesus to come, is he come home to heaven?
Turn to God of idols.
I was the one at one point. Where's your life?
We are in Hong Kong.
I was the one that brought them to golden images that were important.
In a sense, I'm like the Thessalonians.
Turn to God from idols.
As I mentioned.
Also, at one point I didn't believe God.
But there's other things. Perhaps turn you away from God, just like I did.
You know, at one point.
In the 80s.
There was civil war in Lebanon.
I know enough about the Bible as I went to.
School.
But in the war, civil war in Lebanon.
Notice the walls between different groups.
And one other group.
Group of Christian militant. That's how the news reported so to me.
You know, that's one thing that turned me away from Christianity.
OK, someone with the name Christian. And they are really, you know, killing each other.
That's like, I know.
Just because someone or some group and the work Commission.
Doesn't mean they are true believers of the Lord Jesus.
You know, like all those questions sometimes, you know.
Some of my teacher I for democration, but.
No, I'm not happy with their behaviors. I wasn't pleased with it, you know, are they really Christians?
00:30:03
What we need to realize that?
There's only one desk. Perfect.
Pieces and.
To have peace with God is to have relationships with God and through His Son, the Lord Jesus, we are now.
Following the religion.
Christianity in general.
You have to accept the gift of salvation yourself and to have your personal relationship with God who the gift of salvation to have peace with Him.
Religion does not say.
Does not give us a home in heaven, only the Lord Jesus and what He did on the cross.
And give us peace with God.
As we talk about the people in the Bible that who the German and Paul and the Thessalonians who have their life changed after they.
And today, even in this audience.
This one.
Turn not to serve themselves or to have idols of this world may not be the physical idols that we have. I have maybe other things that you're not like anything that put us between US and God.
So let's turn to.
John, Chapter 14.
John chapter 14, verse 6.
I am the way and the truth and the life.
No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I'm the way.
Jesus.
Is the only way?
The only way for us.
To have a relationship with God, the only way for us to peace with God because the home in heaven.
I'm the truth.
This word is in our hands, the Word of God.
The Lord Jesus God cannot lie.
For he promised in his word.
True.
The standard.
Around us, on the standard, we face changes all the time.
What is right and what is wrong changes.
Standard.
Last year.
It's wrong. It's illegal.
To iron. But this year it's OK, it's right, it's legal to do that.
When my wife When my wife grew up.
It was OK. It was to read the word of God at school.
It's not longer than true today. The standard.
Of land changes.
The right and wrong changes.
Change.
Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever.
That give us comfort and peace knowing that.
You know.
Is give us salvation that was offered 2000 years ago. How to be safe? It's still the same today. You have to be safe.
In Africa.
Have to be saving locks. Harbors have to be saved in.
Do is the same. It's the first unit. It's universal.
And.
Let's turn to.
00:35:02
And a light.
I am the way, the truth, and the life. He is the only one.
That can offer us eternal life.
And let's turn to John, chapter 18.
John, Chapter 18.
Yes, another person selected.
And the decision he made?
John chapter 18, verse 38. Pilot said unto him, What is true?
And when he has said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and sat unto them. I find in him no for at all.
For the striking thing to me.
Unto the Lord Jesus here say what is true, and when he has said this, he went out.
Are you truly seeking the truth?
The truth of the gift of salvation, the truth about how to be, how to meet as a Christian according to the will of God. There's many truth that's in the word of God.
The pilot asked the question, what is true?
But he didn't want to hear the answer. Are you ready to hear the answer tonight?
He simply woke up. He was in front of the.
The only truth.
If you didn't.
Not wounding.
Listen for the answer. Same thing. What? Oh, the presence of the Son of God and the truth.
And for him?
He never obtained as regret the.
Before that, he can simply wash his scenes away by water.
I mean you and me. No that.
Not simply have peace, but.
It's only by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus that was shared on the clothes that we can.
Questions knowing that.
We take the gift of foundation.
So.
How do we know?
Today fake news. That what I said tonight.
First, who said the will of God for the Bible?
And also, it's a consistent message. It has been for 2000 years, the same message we preach.
It's the same the speech in many parts of the world. And it has to.
That changed people's life as we read today on some.
2000 years ago.
And I also appreciate Nigeria from, Kenya from.
You from Canada, all in US state?
Doesn't matter where you come. The same message that give us peace with God.
But you have to make a decision, just like Pilot.
He asked for the truth, but he didn't.
Willing wasn't willing to really listen to the answer.
Are you looning?
Open your house.
Accept Jesus into your eyes.
There's nothing you can do.
Just like that chill. All you need to do is send it release and accept.
Doesn't matter who you are, doesn't matter what you did. Come just as you are.
Let's read Let's sing number 88 in.
88 just as I am.
00:40:47
In my soul.
My love, my own has proven everything every time.
Doesn't matter what baggage you have.
Jesus open up. Welcome to accept.
This call in heaven to be to his families.
Just need to simply come. God knows you already better than you know yourself.
It's nothing.
Stop.
It's a decision for you to make.
You have to decide.
Jesus missed the trip.
You be the judge tonight, and you will.
OK.
If you judge, this is not true.
There will be a date. God will be the judge for your judgement.
Let's pray God and that pardon.
Hanging for the gift of salvation.
And eat that.
This is still the day of.
Just pray for each one here.
Except this great gift of salvation.
Pray for your blessings.
I just came up, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Light of the World

Be careful little bit where you go. I would be careful they don't think where you go.
There's the father of the bond looking down into your love. Well, be careful, little thing, where you go.
There's a father looking down the center. Moisturizer.

For accreaching ourselves for Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus place for God, who commands the light shine of darkness, shall shine in our hearts to give the light of the glorious, to give the light of the knowledge, the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Second, From these four 5/2.
224 Who himself watch, who himself wire sings in his own body to the tree, having died for us for righteousness.
My dad for us, for righteousness, but he strikes over here either 224.
No thanks.
So there you go. All right, anyone else want to say?
1St.
Anybody else not missing anybody?
All right, well, let's sing one more song. Is it all right if I give it out?
Is in the.
#17 you have been the shine.
17.
Jesus.
00:15:05
In this World of Darkness, so we must shine, you and your small corner and I.
It's a shine first of all for him while he sees a nose.
Down from heaven to the sea of shrine, healing your small corner. And I had mine.
Jesus is the shine next for all around many kinds of darkness in this world about.
Sorrow so may not shine you and your small corner and body.
All right, let's just look to the Lord before we start.
Living Godfather, we just thank thee that we have such a wonderful Savior to sing about. And we just thank thee, Lord Jesus, for coming down to this world and to die for each one of us. And we just pray that each one here knows thee is their personal Savior. And if not, they would put their trust in me today. And we just would pray this. We just pray for the message that it'd be simple.
Can understand, be encouraged and so we just pray these things and thank you for thy love, thy name, Lord Jesus, Amen, Amen. All right.
What is this?
A light bulb, right?
What is this supposed to do?
Make light, right?
When does it make light?
Produce light. It's got it plugged in, doesn't it?
So this light bulb here, if I just hold it, you're saying it's never going to shine, never going to shine?
Hold it for a long time. Doesn't make a difference. No. OK, So it has to be plugged in. That's what you're saying. OK.
All right, so we plug it in and then it'll shine. That's what you're saying?
Or you plug it in something else too.
You don't think it'll just shine like this?
No, you're right, it does have to be plugged in.
All right, so it's plugged in.
Still is not giving off light.
Oh, turn on Switch. That's right.
Oh, oh, batteries. No, there's no batteries in it.
You know what I know I'm kind of picking on you, Isaac. There's power there. You know where the power sitting.
It is right there.
But it's not going to shine because it's sitting right there.
All we have to do is push that button.
You know what when you think about.
What is really going on here?
We have a generating, we have a power plant somewhere, right?
Somebody put that in and put in transmission lines. They're substations.
There's wires coming into this building. There's a lot of work, there's hours of work.
We're sitting right there.
Yeah, and.
Nobody's too afraid of being a little bit dark, are they? Okay, so.
So all it takes.
Is just to push this button.
And we've got light, right?
And there it is.
Now we're sitting in this room, we're sitting in the darkness. All we had to do was just push the button.
Right who here staying at the hotel?
Who's gone in and justice half the wall and the lights come on.
So simple to be in in likeness in it.
Takes like no effort.
But you know what? There's electricians that worked here for hours to make it possible that you could do that. And you know what?
00:20:04
What does it take for us to be saved?
Isaac.
Right.
Right. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Thou shalt be saved that easy.
We have a song that says at the heart store, the savior is waiting, right?
At the Heart store.
Did it take any work?
For us, no. Did somebody else have to do work?
Somebody else have hours of work, Three hours of darkness.
Yeah.
Doesn't take us any effort sometimes.
We think of just pushing the button and we have light.
But we don't know what went in and what all is behind it to make it work. And you know what? For our sins to be washed away. The Lord Jesus has made it so simple. He's at the heart store. He's right there, and all we have to do is accept Him.
He's already done all the work for us to have lights in our hotel room for us just to flick a switch here, the work's all done. All we have to do is just use the switch.
Don't you think that they would be pretty confused or upset if we went into our hotel rooms in the dark and we stubbed our toe on the bed and said, why don't you just tap the wall?
You know the Lord Jesus, He laid down His life for us and here He is at the heart store, Doc, and all we have to do is open the door and let Him in. It's that simple. We had the power here, sitting right here, and all we had to do was just push the button.
Well.
Another thing I wanted to talk about is.
Lord Jesus has said in.
John 10 or I'm sorry and John 812 Says I am the light of the world. He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but you'll have the light of life.
So Lord Jesus has.
Is the light of the world, isn't it? Is this world a dark place?
What does that mean? This world is a dark place? Does that mean you have?
Sun's outside, I had to put the curtains shut to get it darker in here.
Fall as soon right we have that song. I think it is actually in this book of my heart was stained with sin. We sang it in stellar till my heart was black with sin.
Sin is black, isn't it starkness?
And we sang in our song here to see which verse is it that.
Many kinds of darkness in this world abound, sin and want and sorrow. So we must shine.
And so this target, this world is a dark place, isn't it?
And.
Then we have a verse. Maybe somebody for Matthew 517. Somebody has enough light, maybe somewhere in the front here.
Do you have enough light? We'll see. I can move over for you too.
516 I thought your legs are shining before then, that they may see your good words, and you glorify your Father, which is in heaven, right?
Right. Let your light so shine.
So.
What does light do when this is completely dark if I turn this off?
It's hard to tell what color shirt everybody's wearing.
It's hard to tell who's here. We turn it on and then the light reveals.
I don't want to have more light, that's OK.
Gets the point across so the light reveals, doesn't it?
And it reveals things that sometimes we don't realize are there. You don't.
I do electrical for a living and so we're into a house this past week and we went into a place and there was a man who said that his house was rewired and all the wiring was up to date. It was all good. It was all new and you looked at it, there was new light fixtures. It looked really good and we took down one of the light fixtures and it was old wire that we called knob and tube. We went up into the attic and who is here? Ever been in an attic?
Yeah, all right. Who's been in the attic in a summer day?
Who likes being there?
All right, so there are a lot of light in the attic.
00:25:00
Pretty dark, isn't it? Well, I came with a light different than this.
And I looked down and there is a hole in the floor where we opened a piece of. We opened the boards up and we looked above the light and another light. And here the light revealed to me that had been done wrong.
What the man said was done was not done.
But you wouldn't have known.
Send darkness. You wouldn't see it. You couldn't see it.
And so.
That's what the Lord Jesus has done is and he's revealed that we know that we are in darkness, that we're in sin.
We have that same nature that we need to be safe, and we can reveal that because when we're saved, what is it? It's like this light bulb when it started, right? We take it out of there.
It has no light, the lights not coming from this light bulb. It's coming all the way from some power plant somewhere, all the way through all the lines and coming up and coming through here and so.
This light bulb just gives it off, so we can each be like this light bulb, can't we?
How can we shine for the Lord Jesus like the verse that.
The Caleb Red How can we shine for the Lord Jesus?
Isaac.
Righteous things for the Lord, yeah.
Yeah.
What else?
Matthew.
Preaching the Gospel.
Right, right. So who knows of an example in the Bible of somebody that was shining their light?
And oh, that's exactly where you think of Paul and Silas. That's what I was thinking of, right? Paul and Silas.
Right. Exactly how are they shining the light?
Singing, right? They were singing and praising God. So how did that, how was that like shining the light? Because you know, there's actually a verse in it that says that the, I think the jailer asked for a light to come in. So and they were singing at midnight. So it's probably dark.
So how does that seem like a light?
Is it kind of like?
Because the light revealed when they were singing and they were praising God, and here there was this earthquake and the prisoner realized he needed to be saved. And what did he say?
I already quoted it.
What do you say, Isaac?
What must I do to be saved? That's right. So they were shining their light and because of it.
Was the prisoner saved?
So House is safe, Yeah.
That's great.
Now what about? What about what happens, William, if we're maybe we're at.
Maybe we're out at the grocery store or maybe we're out somewhere and we say we're going to go to Sunday school. Mommy says we're going to go to Sunday school, and we say I don't want to go to Sunday school. Oh, so boring. I don't want to go to Sunday school.
What happens to our light?
You're saying Jesus, bits of shine says. And our light grows in.
It's still there, isn't it?
It's growing dim.
Can we do things that make our light grow dim?
Yeah. What's an example of that? What do you think, Emily?
We're doing bad things. You think of Paul and Silas. We're sitting in the prison. They were complaining. Why are we in here? I don't want to be in here.
And why are we still here? I thought we'd already get out.
And they're complaining I'm cold, I'm sore.
I don't think this is right.
Do we complain sometimes?
Yeah. Is that just the children that complain?
No, no, see the faces on the old one.
No, no.
So do you think it's just children that their light can go dim?
No, Would they? You don't think the if they were complaining the whole time? You think the prisoner might have ended up safe or the jail keeper?
I think you know they do we have any recording that they complained, you know we have it said that they sang and that they praised. They were praying and praying to the Lord. They let their light shine.
00:30:15
And here.
Jail keeper was saved because of it.
And so we have in our in the song that we sang, Jesus bids a shine with a pure clear light, you and your small corner and I and mine. So we think about, you know, it's not super bright in here, but.
If we each had a light in here, how bright would it be?
Right, very bright. And you know what?
If everybody had a light in here and I shut mine off.
You know, you may not really even notice.
And so I shut the curtain so we could really see this light. But if we.
And the curtains turn all the lights on. This one won't shine as bright, but that's not the point. We can't just say well.
Mr. Mullins shining his light. So I don't need to. Is that what the Lord Jesus says? No. Well, as long as mommy and daddy do, then I don't need to, right?
Well, Ronnie, Mommy and Daddy always with you when you're at school or wherever, even if we're just playing around at a conference here.
No.
Maybe there would be maybe sometime when we would go to Sunday school, maybe we'd be nervous about sitting up front.
And you know, we could, we can shine for a light and maybe we'd say, here, come sit by me.
You know, arterial conference that happened.
Yep, there is. There's a little girl who said.
To another girl, here comes him by me. And she was nervous sitting up there and here she came up and sat next to her and then they had a nice time. They were sitting there.
So even when we're little, we can shine our light, for the Lord Jesus can't be.
We don't just rely on the Lord. Jesus has said that that we should shine our light, shouldn't we? Right, because we have.
We have those verses, right?
Then.
In Luke 8.
Luke needs.
We know these verses. Luke 8/16.
Says 16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covers it with a vessel, or put it under a bed, but said it, that on a Candlestick, that they which enter may see the light. So I put this light up high, right, because then it shines more. We don't put all our lights on the floor, do we? Have them up in the ceiling, and they shine, and they light the whole room, right?
But you know, I have to tell you honestly.
There's times in my life where I know that maybe I'd be a little bit nervous.
And hide the light a little bit because I didn't know where kids at school might think.
And I was a little shy and I missed the opportunity to shine my light.
Or, you know, my actions. Maybe sometime.
Even at work.
People are making fun of somebody else, so they're joking around and I laugh along.
And then what happens?
My light is growing dim.
So it's something that we all need to hear, isn't it? We need to be reminded of.
Because when we had when the power is out, you light a candle, you put it away in some corner and then hide something over it.
We let it shine. We want it to light up the room, right? We want it to light up the room.
So she.
Just a little reminder that we can shine our lights for the Lord Jesus.
It's something that we constantly need, isn't it?
Because we know that the Lord Jesus has said, thy word is lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path, right?
So with God's Word, we can shed that and we know where we're going.
Right, you know, on our way here.
We were coming in on the highway and we're moving right along and here I saw some flashers on the other side of the highway and there was some emergency vehicles there and then there was traffic backed up.
And we kept driving and there's more traffic backed up and more and more and kept going. And then we kept on going and then we saw where traffic was still flowing and they didn't get there yet and.
00:35:03
Course, around here there's turns and bends and hills, and I thought, look at those people there, they think they're just going down the highway, maybe they need to get somewhere at a certain time and they think traffic's flowing great. We're not Toronto or Montreal, we'll get there no problem.
Right.
But then they were about to see a lot of lights, a lot of red lights it.
See tailings. They didn't know what was ahead of them.
And, you know, sometimes you'll see cars the other side, they'll flash their lights because there's danger. Sometimes a warning and light tells us that, doesn't it? God's word tells us that there's coming a time when there will be outer darkness.
Outer darkness.
Anybody like to stay in the darkness for a long, long time?
No, no, we get called into people's houses because they want more light.
They're tired of straining their eyes and they want more light so they can see.
And so here these these cars were about to find out warning lights and the brake lights that.
That they're going to have to stop.
And so that's what we use our headlights for, right? We don't drive because your mom and dad drive at night with the headlights off in the darkness. They want to know where they're going. And so we have, we have this light, don't we? Tells us where we're going, gives us direction so we know.
We know where to go and you know sometimes if you're ever driving along, sometimes you'll see from the headlights of another vehicle, you'll see a deer or a moose, not even from your own but from somebody elses light. And when we shine off our light, you know, and we're working, sometimes we have multiple lights and I'll see from another ones light. I'll see what I needed to see. And you know that's what Paul and Silas did, they gave off, they shine their light for Lord Jesus.
And.
Here they realized that they needed a savior, and they asked what must I do to be saving when they were satisfied?
And so how important it is that they shine their light.
All right, well, I don't want to go too long so.
We can sing. Maybe we'll just sing one more. Somebody has one more.
Hurt your eyes. It's home right now.
All right.
Who else has a song?
2121.
Independent 21 in the appendix. All right, Jesus wants me for a son, right? Jesus wants me for.
Every way. Try to please him at home as well that way.
My son made my son name. Jesus wants me for a son in a son in a son give a son give a son give a son name.
He just wants me to be.
And kind to all I see, showing her pleasant and happy is there no one can be.
Assigned me, my son, me. Jesus wants me for a son being, a son with a son being. I'll be a Sunday for him.
I will. Let's change the street to keep my heart from chain showing us and always shine for him.
I sunk in my sun name. Jesus wants me for a Sunday, a sun being a sunny I'll be here something for me.
OK, let's sing one more. It goes along with the verse. I read this little light of mine, right? Everybody know that one? Don't think it's in our book, This little light of mine. All right, OK, this little.
Of mine I go to shine and it shine. Let it shine, let it shine.
00:40:01
Don't. Let's say control here, I'm gonna let you let it shut.
I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
I.
Know I destroyed I.
I'm the way to shine when it shine when it shine when it shines.
Let it shine. Till Jesus comes, I'm gonna let it shine.
Let's try to Jesus comes.
All right, let's just look to the Lord.
Let me go and Father, we just thank you for being that perfect light and Lord chooses what an example we have. And so Lord Jesus, we just.
Ask for help for each one of us that we can just be a sunbeam for for the.
And so we just pray for just especially that this weekend and for this conference here and the testimony we can be here. And just then as we go back to our homes and back to our jobs and school, our neighborhoods, that we can just shine through thee. And so just ask for help in that. We'd have the courage and we'd have the strength to. And so we just pray again that if there's any here that.
Are still.
Just in darkness, so there have not accepted thee have not opened the door. Just so simple.
Just so simple to open the door and so Lord, we just.
We would just pray that we would let each one here has accepted you as their Savior is asking into their heart to wash away their sins. So we just would pray this. We thank Thee for Thy love and for dying for us. Just ask for help and guidance for the remainder of the day too. Were they impressed His name, Lord Jesus, Amen.

See, the Lord Jesus says.
The one who completed the work which our Father gave me to do.
And then through that work for Jesus.
Should I work on?
We're just praying now as we would open.

We will go out of this room at the end of this meeting.

133 as leadership, another passage.
Find the mayor. We stay with the cabinet.
00:05:02
And I mentioned the last meeting.
Going up to verse 12 and first start reading verse 13. That's good. OK, Questions 3, verse 13.
Preparing one another and forgiving one another. If any man have a quarrel against any in this, Christ forgive you. So also do you. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness and.
The peace of God rule in your heart which also you're called in one body and be thankful.
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever you do, and murder or deed do, all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him wise submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit from the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, we need not been here against them. Children, obey your parents and all things, for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke your children with anger, lest they be discouraged.
Obeying all things according to the flesh, not with eye service as men pleasers, but in singles apart fearing God. And whatsoever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men, knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ, but he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which He.
I guess verse 13 is really a continuation.
Of the list put ONS which starts.
In 12.
And all of those, all of those things.
Bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of wines, meekness, long-suffering, preparing one another and forgiving one another.
Those are and the charities in verse 14.
Above all these things put on charity.
Those are all.
Beautiful characteristics which.
Which the old man that we were talking about yesterday.
It would be impossible for the old man to display those characteristics.
But they're perfectly displayed in the Lord Jesus himself.
And that new life that we have.
From him.
Is able to display those as well.
How beautiful it is.
Walking in the power of our new life and the Spirit of God and willingness to be.
Able to display those characteristics.
Could never.
As long as we have our own.
Left house.
And we shouldn't be letting it operate, but it does operate under there, but it will never perfectly it was a perfectly live up to.
The example that the Lord showed in these things when he.
But when we're there with him, with.
Our own neighbors.
Those characteristics reminded me of the.
Fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5 and and also in Ephesians 5 and.
And read them in Galatians 5. But in Ephesians 5:00 and 9:00 it says, For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness, and proving what is acceptable on the Lord.
Have no fellowship with the unstream for works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Really, what's been before us in this chapter?
When you say.
00:10:02
Putting on that.
New nature and getting rid of all those old things and.
And he goes on to say, For bearing one another, and for forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Very similar to the verse we have in Ephesians 4 and 32 and be calling one to another.
Heart is forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake, hath forgiven you.
Verse 14 you mentioned charity or love, and above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
It's like a locked in fire. Please rein me in. But I made me think a lot of those verses in Second Peter.
Chapter One.
Second Peter, chapter one.
1St.
Three, it says, According as His divine power have given unto us all things that pertain unto light and godliness through the knowledge of Him.
That have called us the glory and virtue, whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises. That by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue and to virtue, Knowledge, and the knowledge, temperance, and the temperance, Patience, and the patience, Godliness, and the godliness, brotherly kindness, and the brotherly kindness, charity.
For love thrifty sings, being you, and abound they make you, that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I think there's 13 verses. Very, very practical, motivate, it says.
If any man have a quarrel or a complaint against any.
I think there's been many, many times in our lives when we.
Complaints about different ones. It's our nature, I suppose, but it can bring sorrow. But it says here that we're to for bear one another and forgive one another.
I think if we always kept that in mind, we would save ourselves a lot of sorrow.
In the assemblies, and I was thinking if we're going to for bear and forgive one another, what kind of characteristics do we need? The ones that were mentioned in the 12 first kindness, humbleness of mind, humility and meekness and long-suffering. If we are showing those things in our lives, then we're going to be forbearing and forgiving one another. I've enjoyed too that we have here in this verse.
The forgiveness of Christ.
In the 15th verse we have the peace. I believe it should read the peace of Christ.
And then in the 16th verse, the word of Christ. It's sort of nice to put those 3 together and meditate on it.
Flows from.
The new creation doesn't that.
New man.
It created in Christ Jesus.
Spiritual man.
No, man, that we have within.
It's not something that.
Is paid over. The old man has been read crucified with Christ on the top to death.
Not something that could be fixed up in any way or remain better. It's not looking for perfection within.
The natural man, he can show some of these things that's mentioned there in verse 7.
First, well, he can show kindness and he can show a certain amount of humbleness and, and all those things, but his motive isn't right.
Intense of her heart doesn't he looks like behind what we do and we can't have the right motive unless we have the new nature given to us of God.
00:15:13
It has to be a change that's going to affect our walk. It's going to make a a change in our character. And that only can be, that only can come by God intervening in her life and giving to him, giving to us a nature that's suitable for him.
We have that project for Ephesians chapter 4.
Says there.
Just one part of it that I.
Wanted to be.
Verse 24 of chapter 4 it says.
The last part of that should the new men which after God has created in righteousness and.
Holiness.
That's the character of the the new man sent us and God has given to us is created in righteousness and through holiness. So the acts of kindness and all of those things that we should do is because it flows out of the nature that God has given to us, an exact opposite of the old nature.
So they assumed it happened.
But I just point out too in Ephesians chapter 4 that speaks there of putting on.
The Newman putting off the old man. That's not scripturally correct. Any any Colossians in heaven, put the right way is something that already has been done.
Jesus has crucified you, old man. It's already been put on.
And the Newman has put on.
When we when we see the new nature, we see that characteristic of the new man.
Something that had been done already.
We say that we have to put it off.
Something that we we might think we have to do, we might spend a lot of time trying to get rid of it, but the Lord Jesus said that crucified with the death of the cross, it's not something that loved up for us to do. And so we're just a walk.
In the character of the new nature that had been given to us by the Lord, that's what we have, the chapters to show up, that new nature that God has given to us, show it out in our walk.
I was wondering if that was why that first characteristic in verse 12 was holy.
In first Peter he says be holy, Brian holy.
So as we had even yesterday, but the children of disobedience at the end of verse six, that's that old characteristic and it's not something that.
He wants to see an ox. He wants to see us as the children of obedience.
Where to take on a price like?
Walked early.
Stand mentioned in verse 13 about the quarrel Yes, would that be?
Similar to the verses in Matthew 18 with.
A brother that has a trespass against another? Yes I I think so. I think it could easily be applied that way.
The result of holding an unforgiving spirit.
As referred to in 1918.
It's a serious thing.
Because.
It really brings one under the governmental dealing with God.
And we've all had this problem that a brother has offended us and.
Death and find it very difficult.
To be reconciled.
We should hold a forgiving spirit regardless of what that person has done to us.
Now there should be repentance on his part.
But until we see that still we should have that forgiving spirit. And you're saying, and you can explain it better.
I think that's a good explanation but it is true that.
We are forgive her brother on our part, but there is that need of repentance when we've done something wrong and.
00:20:08
It's part of and.
Matthew 18.
It's really near the Speaking of.
Assembly responsibility.
You know, starts with, start singular with one another, how we treat each other.
And then it comes on.
If we don't treat each other rightly and go right on into the assembly and the assembly has to deal with it collectively, but it it's better if we deal with it ourselves and there's forgiveness and the matter is cleared up before the Lord and it doesn't have to go any further.
Is to the assembly than the assembly has to take it up and they have to have discipline, a brother where it never should be. These things should be able to be cleared up among us.
So.
Have a construction in scripture for it, but the best instruction is to.
To take it on ourselves.
Get it clear with the Lord.
We know that there's difficulties with.
You have difficulties with one another.
Her family and.
Or enclosed been found.
We know each other's little balls.
We know all about one another and.
Sometimes those little things can lead to bigger things.
All the need, all the while need to be conscious of that in ourselves.
I think a brother one time, you said.
And all the William Kelly or not, but he said that.
We just would learn to see the, see the.
See the question ourselves. See Christ and others solve a lot of the problem.
Look at the flashes in herself and the log that's in her own eye, and look at what's good in others. Price and others.
Wouldn't be so judgmental perhaps. And that's where a lot of these things start and end up end up being.
You're at loggerheads with one another over something that's just.
Simple thing.
Could be.
I thought it was good what Jonathan mentioned there about second Peter. It says add to brotherly kindness, charity, and it says in this 14th verse above all these things put on charity. Well, the word charity really means divine love, doesn't it? And as was said earlier.
It's a natural man can show kindness, he can show love, but divine love.
Acts even when there's nothing to love, you might say the Lord certainly looked on us when he had no intention of going on for him. So above all things, put on divine love. And as you say, that's seeing Christ in our brethren and not looking at their faults, but recognizing that he's a that brother is one that the Lord bought with his own blood.
And you should see Christ in him. I think that's good because I think the key to this.
Section really is the end of verse 13 where it says even as Christ forgave you, so also do need.
Divine love loves the unloved.
And I am forgiven, even though there was nothing in need for the Lord Jesus to naturally love.
And we can just turn them off at 18 and we would see that parable with the Lord gave there and.
So that is really at the root of why I ought to be humble and lowly and kind and compassionate and surveying in certain.
Giving of my brethren because I realized I'm not one with better than anything they have done. I'm I'm an unlovable person except for the grace of God 15.
So often, you know.
The reason we have all these complaints against our brother who won't for their and don't show conscience because if they were better than you.
Christ forgave us.
00:25:01
Sean, can you give us a little difference between forbearing and forgiving?
I feel better if you use.
Somebody could though. There's a difference I really in those two.
For Bear.
It's been said that the apartment the Lord chose the apostles.
He told them with different temperaments entirely.
They have to for bear with one another.
Peter was.
Outspoken and impetuous.
John was of a different character.
Loving and each one had a different character, so there had to be forbearance. We all have that.
Particular faults.
That we know ourselves.
You have to have patience one with the other. None of us are perfect and.
Mr. Hale used to say.
Spam here will remember well.
He says in your marriage.
Make sure you have two bears in your house.
One fair and the other four There means for those of us who are married know that a lot of truth in there. It is a truth.
Mortified citizen.
Five or five, Therefore your memory chart upon your.
Lift their parts or five. Cutting off takes all judgment doesn't nothing like to judge yourselves.
But we look at the Ephesians chapter 4.
Couple of person there.
What John mentioned.
If we, if we allow these things.
Between US and they're not.
We're not. We don't judge. We don't judge ourselves.
It says and verse 30 there of chapter 4 David reading not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby your seal under the redemption.
That's.
But it does. It breathes the Holy Spirit that's in US.
And it goes on to say, what reason that all bitterness, rock, anger, clamber, evil speaking, he put away from you all malice.
How is it going to be put away from us? Well, not sole judgment. We need to be before the Lord these things and judge yourselves and then it goes on to say be kind one to another. Enter Harden forgiving one another.
Even as God for Christ sake, heaven forgive you.
So that is really the.
And see.
Christ has done for us, and we were for nothings.
And brought this up really a beggar from the dumb going might say and has given to us.
Such love and kindness be shown to us on the cross. Each one of us that are is He died. He wore our sins individually. He wore my sins before your sins but.
Think of it individually as.
Treasure that was in the field each each one of his own before our sins there on the cross. Sometimes we just think of.
The Lord Jesus collectively dying for everyone Jesus.
But individually, he took my sentence on the property. Think about that.
Of the Lord Jesus, how to pay to redeem it?
And what it cost them?
Then we should that should have an effect of how we.
We shouldn't be looking at their fault, really.
And we should be looking.
At well, the Lord loves them. He died for their sins.
Just as much as he loved me and died for my sin.
So the word looks at each one of us. He loves us all the same.
Loved one more than the other. The youngest one here that has what you're trusting, the Lord Jesus Christ is loved just as much by the Lord as any other believer on the face of the earth.
That's what we're.
00:30:01
Derek, in terms of your question, because I'm not sure I heard the answer.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Think you're Forbearance says.
Carries within the thought of a bird.
And to prepare versus maybe somebody is a little bit they're a burden to deal with in a particular way.
Get somebody in your home with snow or put up with it.
Life to be prepared with that, and maybe somebody is a habit in the assembly.
And it's a burden for you and for their.
This is just and I'd like to be correcting you. Forgiveness is to.
Would that be a good way of distinguishing? I I think so, Sean, that's that's good. And what John had to say with the forebear and the bears, I think there's twos like I can bear something and they bring it forward, you know, and or I can for bear, which means all that.
Schools these days and they talk to you know to assert our rights and so on and any anything any offense against me. I said bring it forward and and make it make you know deal with there's an issue make the issue and but that's not what we have here right here is the opposite really is to for Bear is not bring it forward. I can cause a lot of offense by not for bearing.
I was and it might be a real or assumed.
Some misgiving, as it would impress somebody else, might take offense by it and I play. I can for bear it and I can bear it forward and make an issue of it.
And so there's where problems can develop in any assembly or family whatever, so we don't forbid we need to be.
More forebearers than theirs listening.
The old form of the rage.
There is often you now I understand which honestly, thank you.
Important to see one another standpointed out that we see Christ in one another, isn't it?
Titus three and then we read the verses yesterday. It speaks of envying and hating one another. And and that's that's the old way. We're to get rid of those things. It's over to see Christ in one another as we belong to him and and that he has redeemed us and brought us to himself. And it was mentioned in the address yesterday that often we start looking at the table as though it's our table or that we have some kind of hand in these things. And and so we're to be reminded that that we don't we have that in the next verse. I believe in verse 15, unless the peace of God ruling your hearts to the witch also. We are called in one body.
And being thankful, many times we hear little stories of somebody that maybe got saved that.
Conference or gospel tent in the old days or whatever it might have been. And there was much joy in those things. We were happy to hear of that, that one that got saved. And but you know, maybe some characteristic comes out and that person or one another and no longer can we prepare those things and make it on our nerves. And before long we're back to the old way instead of being more Christ like. And, and so that doesn't take forgiving, does it? Forgiving comes with one another offending each other in certain ways or sitting against each other.
He says that you're all called in one body and be thankful.
We should see Christ in one another.
It mentions here the peace of Christ and in John chapter 14 I'll just read the verse. The Lord Jesus says in the 27th verse, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives you. Lie unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, you know, let it be afraid. So the Lord walked through this world in perfect peace.
Leaving everything.
To his father and walking independence and we're told here to let that same piece ruin our hearts. We tend to get terribly upset with a lot of things I don't want to do sometimes, but we need to learn this, don't we do let the peace of Christ grew in our hearts. And then it says in the 16th verse, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all the wisdom. I remember again Mr. Hay was saying years ago.
We should read scripture till we become so saturated with it that we speak in the language of scripture.
00:35:03
And that's where we get our wisdom, isn't it? From the word of God and from what the Lord Jesus said. So we let it dwell in our dwell in US richly.
Just a comment, Nina's. If we're going to get to the end of the chapter, we better keep moving.
I'm just going to make a little comment about the latter part of verse 16.
Says teaching and admonishing one another in songs and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
I find that a lot of the so-called songs, Christian songs that are being sung today are very, very shallow, that they don't have much, can I say, teaching or admonition in them. And I feel bad that we neglect so often many of the hymns in the past that really spooked our hearts and consciences.
And today it seems there's you get one word and they repeat it over and over and over and over again.
Doesn't have much edification to it, but here it says teaching and admonishing one another and so on him and his spiritual songs. The Lord is wants to hear us singing from the heart, doesn't it? And what we're enjoying, it should be the overflow. Or think of that verse in Psalm 45 that says my heart is indicted a good matter or I'm bubbling over. And that's what the Lord wants. Doesn't want just empty words coming out of our mouths.
That would be quite.
Gather from what you said there is singing with grace and your.
Hearts.
No grace is often.
Instead of getting something from God that we don't deserve.
Really great. We don't deserve to have a spiritual song in her heart, but because of the work of Christ that we have it there.
And we have it there. Is God giving us a spiritual song in our hearts that Stan has mentioned that would be dishonored in the Lord or something that we.
Not glorify him or beat us on. No, I think raising their hearts and his song that God would give to us that would honor him would be reverend, would be reverent, reverential to him, and we would sing that song.
It's just a thought I don't think the Lord will be putting, even if they're spiritual songs in our heart.
And there are there are some songs today.
Water and Christian solemnly didn't take that as honoring to the Lord.
That's why we can find problems for the local very carefully edited by Mr. Darby.
Any unscriptural references were expunged from it, so.
We should be thankful for such a very wonderful.
Virtually active.
As well as many of the hymns that.
Hymns and the books that we were using for the gospel last night and before we begin this morning.
And the echoes a great symbol for.
There are a lot of balloons. I say old ends have been around for a while.
Cannot replace, I agree with Western, cannot replace the truths that are in those hymns with some of the modern music.
It was said earlier that Christ did it on the cross and that work was done. There was nothing in it that we could do but.
Verse 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Even the hymns that you're Speaking of, they all come from most often something that's written from the Word of God.
I guess is a question.
It makes me think of how we do have a responsibility. Though that work was done and we didn't have responsibility, we do have a responsibility.
00:40:08
To read our Bibles and so on. It reminded me of the four anchors in June with that somewhat applied to this.
I can read them, it says. Building up yourselves on your most holy faith.
Praying the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
No, that Mister speaking is.
Practicality of living an oak in this world we certainly do need.
The assembly and the meetings to build us up.
Encourages the things we're reading about here.
Yeah.
Give to us.
Great exercise.
Very strength.
Holding on things will be made, but you do need.
Be together. We need the reading reading. We need the prayer meeting. We need all the meetings that that we're able to get to.
To be encouraged.
Be encouraged to as we, each one of us, as we go through this, this world.
Need to be together. We can draw encouragement from each other.
In that sense, yes.
That 17th verse would be a good verse to hang up in our home if you think whatsoever you do in Word or do you do all to the glory of God.
I think if every time we plan something and thought of this verse, it would keep us.
Wasting our time sometimes.
And then it says giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
You should call to be thankful spirits. We often complain like we had earlier, but.
We need to cultivate thankful spirits.
Yeah. And what it says in Word or deed there.
It covers pretty well.
Use our time for.
Seems to be an opening verse for the verses that come down next, right? What's everything doing Word or he does Word, Wives and husbands and fathers and servants.
Keeping that on, my necessity would have to be.
Doing work for Dean.
What does it mean if I could do it in the name of the Lord?
Jesus.
Hey, what's up, brother? I said. What does it mean to do it in the name of the Lord Jesus?
Live with Tom, I'm sure. Well, I'd like to hear what happens tonight.
I think would be good if you told us to.
You know, when I was a junior engineer and I.
Engineering office I.
At the side instructions to various people on the basis that in the name of the chief engineer.
So what did I do? I have to make sure I knew what he really felt about the issue that I was doing. I had to. I had to be close to it. I had to know a little what his nature was and how he would react to the various situations.
And so we can only do this if we're really walking close to the left with our action and our words, the same thing as the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
Will do or say.
00:45:03
It was very good. We could hardly be complaining about our brother in our local assembly.
In the name of the court.
I wouldn't be showing a thankful spirit either, wouldn't.
Be thankful.
In verse 15.
The example that he left in John 8 and 29. So I do always those things that please the Father. That should be our desire in our hearts to do those same things in Word and deed.
Similar verse that we have in First Corinthians 10 and 30.
Stand somewhat reference to that already.
31 Sorry. Whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Mentioned judging ourselves and.
Really, what we should do every time we attempt or begin to do something, we should judge that that thing and.
Make sure it's going to be something that's for the glory and honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for the glory of God.
Not something that might be a dishonor.
I think sometimes.
I guess being a I'll see a young parent that.
When?
When discipline, when needing to discipline your children, sometimes when parents can relate to that, we feel like.
Mikey, you just listen to we wouldn't have to be here if you would have just listened to me. But then how it strikes me that what is the Lord saying to me at that same time or 10 minutes later? Why can't you just listen? And so we have children.
And all things as well.
While we're all sons of God.
Remember that.
You know, sometimes it's it gives us that when we think about for me thinking about how maybe the Lord is looking at at me and that when I'm looking at my children and then that in that way. And then if I think about.
You know, if I think about my brother like we talked about and then maybe I don't, I don't agree with what he's doing or the way that he's.
Me, whatever it is.
If I think about, how can I not?
Have like you mentioned stand about have that divine love or just loved him?
Even if what they're doing is wrong, I didn't pay for that sin.
You think about what the Lord could say to me. Why can't you forgive them? I had to pay for that same antifreeze.
All I'm asking you to do is forgive them.
And so when we get that right perspective that.
We are doing that all in the name of the Lord.
And so, you know, even on that same thing that we're talking about caring for one another.
And you know when a brother said to me, I miss hearing a comment at meeting.
Well, it doesn't sound like the nicest thing in a way.
To be said to me, but that's exactly what I needed.
And so we have that too in Hebrews. And the Lord love you, Chase.
That's part of love, too. And so maybe if I have a quarrel against my brother, maybe it's because I'm looking at it like I looked at my parents when they were giving me a spanking. But then later I realized I needed that.
And so we realized that the Lord loves us.
And we need them. So we have that relation of children over here, parents and we think of.
That we need to obey the Father in the same way.
In verse 18 and 19.
We have some very practical.
Instructions for wives and husbands.
There are quite a few of us in this room who are.
Wives.
And it's we have we have similar similar.
Instruction and infusions.
Five, we don't even turn to it because it's right here also in Colossians 3 and.
00:50:00
18 and 19 you have a verse reverse for the wives and a verse for the husbands.
And.
The wives are told to submit yourselves to your own husband under your own husbands.
And the only qualification is as it is fit in the board.
Husbands 19 to love your wives and.
The brother and at home in Montreal, still still.
And so mention his name, but many years ago he when when we were.
When I was a lot younger than I am now, he spoke to us. As young people are young, married couples are guessing less.
And.
Said don't read the other person's meal.
Country the mail that's addressed to somebody else.
There can be a tendency and what he brought out and so crew for husbands to pray. Well, if my wife doesn't kind of submit to me, I don't need to love her.
So much or the other way around.
My husband doesn't preach properly. I don't need to submit to.
But if we each.
Listen to and and and did what we are instructed to do. So that would be to me. I need to love my wife but not be better against us.
And it's their lives listening to the instruction for them.
Submitted to their husbands as long as it was not.
The husband was not asking her to do something that would be not, that would be dishonouring to the Lord.
You to listen to our own.
Instructions. Instructions are addressed to each of us, the husband and the wives.
Then things would run smoothly.
It says in Ephesians 5 their husbands love your wife even as Christ also loves the church.
We loved our wives in that way. The wife would would delight to submit, wouldn't she? I've enjoyed that. There are three sets of relationships here. There's marriage in the 18th and 19th verses, and then in the 20 and the 21St verses, there's the family relationships. And then from verse 22 to the first verse of chapter 4, there's the workplace.
Relationship.
And it's also interesting that.
The.
The Spirit of God seems to address the area that we're particularly weakened.
With the wife, it's submission to the husband perhaps, and the husband not loving his wife the way he should, Children wanting to disobey their parents, you know what I mean? He sort of points out the the weaknesses and how it will overcome them. I think that's interesting to see here too, isn't it?
That person.
Verse 17.
Rather, I think that.
Given is given there.
Because the Lord knows, he said. You're not easy.
Come from 4:00.
18 Whatsoever you do in Word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
We do it in his name.
For him.
And we have a thankful spirit. We do it in his name.
We're able to do things that ordinarily maybe we wouldn't do, we wouldn't want to do.
And it's not easy to spread.
Not easy for children, it's not easy for wives, it's not easy for husbands to do what we are supposed to do.
We need help from the Lord.
And we need grace for.
And and so I think that verse is given to us first.
What's whatever you do on the Word or do you do it all in the name of the Lord? Jesus makes a difference. Then we do it for Him.
00:55:09
Because.
These things are not easy and.
Failures.
The thing about first thing is 2 And in Matthew we know so well we're two or three are gathered together in my name. There are mine limits of them. It seems to suggest that we gather with His authority and with His approval. And so it seems the same here. Whatsoever you do in Word or deed do all with His authority and approval. And I think that's very important.
Peter brings out.
Two subjection in chapter 3 nice look at that in the opening brings before a situation where where there may be the wife might be a believer in the husband, not a believer.
So chapter 3 and verse one, he speaks the same thing. Likewise, your wife being in subjection to your own husband, that then you obey not the word. In other words, the idea is we, you can't win them by the words. And I'll keep preaching in another word, but to that then you obey not the word that they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives, the matter of living. So there's a subjection in that way and the example is given.
Later like Sarah and Abraham.
Verse 6.
Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord, whose daughters ye are, as long as you do well, and I'm not afraid with any amazement.
And so then it goes on to verse seven that likewise husbands, it may have unbelieving wives and how to win them so.
There's some similar things to the taste conversation that's installed with submission, as it were, and.
Following the example of what Sarah did in the respect she had for her husband Abraham as head of that family.
Put a different color on that the everyday.
Activities that you may have.
Says here, what's your 23? What's going to do it partially those people board and nothing and then.
Well, I don't think it refers to what we might.
Full time service.
We are all ministers of God.
We're all in the ministry.
We're all servants of the Lord so.
They're finding it.
A position where I'm.
Something I am subject to an employer, I should conduct myself as a Christian. And these were slaves at this time. We don't have slavery today.
These, these, these servants were actually slaves. They were body, soul and spirit in the, in the role of their masters. And the apostle says.
Obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, But we don't have slaves right now. But the same thing applies if you're in a secular employment.
Not to join a union to.
Get a better salary aura.
Complaint against the employer. All such is contrary to the Spirit of Christ and Christian down here. Submit to what your employer and demands of you. You're not employed to preach the gospel or to give out tracts. You're employed to do a job.
And you have a responsibility to do that job that you have been assigned, and to do it as unto the Lord.
And it's beautiful to see, brethren, and I know this here. I know that you have to that if we.
Do our daily service whether it be in the family or in the in the.
The world to an to an ungodly employer. There will be a reward. I remember Mr. Hale. Yes, we're looking back to stand and I can look back to you the days when.
Mr. HB Hagel and Gordon administering Ottawa Rich heritage. Mr. AO used to say if you have a a difficult employer to work for.
01:00:10
These cantankerous, these unreasonable in his demands.
New soul, the Spirit of Christ.
And submit, as long as he doesn't ask you to do something on ferry scripture, of course, and you'll get a greater reward in heaven than if your employer is a very amiable.
Reasonable type of person. Remember that step, yes.
As we get to the end of the meeting.
I wanted to share a thought looking back over the whole chapter.
I'm sure there's I'm not the only one here who has had the experience in life where there is a season in life where my heart infections are for the Lord. I have a sense of communion with him and it's very happy thing. And then as time goes on, I reach a point where I realize, Oh my, my heart is drifted. It's not like it once was and.
And I want to change that. So you might say I OK, well, I'll try to love the Lord more. Again, I'll try and change that.
So I tried and it doesn't work.
And why is that? And I was thinking about this chapter and it would just suggest that the answer to that question as found in this chapter might be summarized in a three word question.
Is he Lord?
I may love the Lord.
Sincerely, but if the things that I'm seeking after.
Things that I'm setting my mind on, like we had in the verses at the start of the chapter, are for myself.
Than the verse that Darrell pointed out from the first reading meeting holds true. Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. That's a principle of the word God that I cannot change.
And if I let my time, the things I seek out from my mind, brought up against myself, that's where my heart will go. And I can't change that.
Instead, I need to, as presented in this chapter, realize that Christ is my life. Everything I have is in Christ, and because of that, I'm going to hold Him as Lord and He is going to govern everything in my life.
At the end of this chapter we we talked about it once in verse 17 how it spokes of doing things and everything. The name of the board G test in verse 18 it says that he's fit in the Lord verse 16 to the Lord.
And verse 20 well pleasing to the Lord, verse 23 as to the Lord, verse 24 for you serve the Lord Christ.
If He is my Lord, then the things I seek after and the things I set my mind on will be for Him.
And that will be my treasure. I can't force my heart to go somewhere. I have to change where the treasure is, and then my heart will follow after.
I think that's very good, brother. Well.
It's one thing to come to the Lord Jesus.
And accept Him as our Savior for salvation.
But it's quite another thing.
To to let him be the Lord of my life.
Thing I know.
Press that I experienced the same as you have.
Easily slip away from him being.
Luke Chapter.
01:05:01
Capital six here says verse 46 and Luke chapter 6 it says why call you me or Lord and do not the thing which I say.
There inside.
By the Pharisees and those that were profession to be something they weren't. They came and and cried Lord Lord.
And he said why call me or or do not think which I say so.
Tells us here that.
We know the Lord is the Savior. We're expected to do what the Lord tells me.
Expected to do what he says.
But those that were mere professors?
They they took the name.
But they weren't willing to do what the work said. They were just merely professing.
Singing of that story in Matthew chapter 21 and also it's in Luke. Maybe Mark but.
Terrible vineyard and the man that.
Sent those servants.
Verse 34. When the time of the proof drew near, he sent his servants to the husband, and that they might receive the fruits of it. And the husband then took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. Again he sent other servants more than the 1St, and they did unto them likewise.
I'm certain that that second group of servants already knew what had happened in the first group of servants and what would be followed, but they still went. They still didn't let their Lord asked them to do. And of course, we know that He sent His Son after that. And you see the same picture in our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ in Philippians 2.
Took upon him in the form of the servant.
Came to do his father's will. And again, we still have the same example. I remember there wasn't that long ago. Stan, you probably know the story better, but there was that.
Girl that had tried to give a glass of water and fire off country and she was arrested. We've been trained for her to be released. And I just think of how she knew that those men needed that water and, and how as a servant to our Lord, to her Lord, she gave that water and she was arrested and she surely was facing death and.
Tells us, knowing that of the Lord, he shall receive the reward of the inheritance for you serve the Lord Christ. And she did it. I I believe that maybe she was released, but we certainly anticipated her demise for that act. And what do we suffer in service for him today, considering the reward of the inheritance that's set before us?
Music #33 in the event.
33 on my soul, take off the cross, count the game the spies were lost labor war and with the law and bring the convenient to raise the war the mother would start.
I.
Rest my soul, the work is done done by God Almighty Son.
This to faith is now so clear.
There's no place for torturing fear.

Right tomorrow.
All will be well.
Must be well.
Our Godfather, we continue to thank thee now for this weekend that we have had. We thank you once again for thy beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Giving him for that work at Calvary. Save our souls.
Where we think of the.
Time before us now that that might guidance history and.
Words that our hearts might be stirred up and encouraged, comforted to knowing that all will be well. When we hear that shout, we hear thy voice calling us home to be with thee. So Lord, we just ask you for help. With this, thy name we pray, Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
I think many of us here.
Remember our brother, Attorney Wakefield.
Who passed away in the late 70s I think it was. And one of his comments he liked to make was make much of Christ.
And.
I was wondering if it might be.
Edifying to perhaps go back to the book of Leviticus.
Chapter One. I remember when I was about the age of these some of these fellows on the front row.
I I used to read through Genesis and then I would read through Exodus and.
Then when I got to Leviticus, I skipped over and went to the book of Joshua and then Judges and Ruth and so on, and I didn't bother reading Leviticus and Numbers and Deuteronomy and.
And yet I believe that there's some very profitable parts in these books. And I was thinking, especially lately about the offerings that are found in the first four chapters or so of the book of Leviticus. We can't possibly cover that all today.
00:05:10
But.
I think it's important. So let's just look at a verse, perhaps first in Luke 24, where we were there for a brief moment today.
Luke 24 The Lord Jesus on their way to Emmaus with these two.
Who were discouraged? And it says there, you know, the Lord says to them, he says, I'll read the verse that Jonathan mentioned. Not, not Christ, who have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory, and beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures.
Things concerning himself.
It's a wonderful thing, though, to realize that in all those Old Testament scriptures that we have.
We have types and pictures of the Lord Jesus.
And you know, it's another verse that he another thing that he said in this chapter. Notice verse 45 then opened he their understanding that they might understand the scriptures. So it's not just a matter of reading the scriptures, but we need the understanding that the Spirit of God gives. And so I was wondering if we could just look.
To for a few moments.
At some of these offerings, notice the 1St chapter. We'll just won't even read the whole chapter, we'll just read part of it. And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the Tabernacle of the congregation, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you had to bring an offering unto the Lord, he shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd and of the flock.
If it's offering, be a burnt sacrifice of the herd.
Let him offer a meal without blemish. He shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord, and he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him to make an atonement for him, and he shall kill the bullet before the Lord and the priests.
Aaron's sons shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood around the boat upon the altar.
That is by the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation. And he shall flee the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces. And the sons of Aaron the priest, shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire. And the priest, Aaron's son, shall lay the parts ahead in fact in order upon the wood, that is on the fire which is upon the altar.
But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in the water.
And the priest shall burn all on the altar to be a burned sacrifice.
An offering made by fire of a sweet saver unto the Lord.
I'll just read a little bit more. I did his offering beat of the flocks, namely of the sheep.
Down to the 13th 1St At the end of the verse, an offering made by fire of a sweet savor unto the Lord. And then it goes on. And if the bird sacrifice for his offering to the Lord be fouled, then he shall bring his offering of turtle doves, or a young pigeons. And skipping down the end of the 17th 1St, it is a burnt sacrifice and offering.
Made by fire of a sweet saver under the Lord.
I just wanted to say before we start here, that there are four offerings. There's the bird offering, there's the meal offering in the second chapter. The third one is the peace offering, and then finally the sin and the trespass offering.
And they all bring before us various aspects of the life and and.
Sacrifice of the Lord Jesus. And you know, if we were writing the book of Leviticus, we probably would have started with the trespass offer. We all know the Lord Jesus died on the cross to put away our sins. And we can look at our lives and we can see the way we have lived and, and we can thank the Lord that he took, he took the judgment for our sins. That's the trespass offer. But he not only did that.
He.
He gave himself a sacrifice for sin.
00:10:03
He took the judgment and for that route sin that is in every one of us. And then we have the peace offering, of course, which brings before us. I suppose you could say that it's a communion offering or a Thanksgiving and praise offering. And then you have the the meal offering which brings us before us, the Lord Jesus in his life.
And then the bird offering of which was really the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus.
In In obedience to his Father's will.
So we would have probably started with the sin off because if you ask a Christian, you know, what do you think about the death of the Lord Jesus? It's wonderful to think that in this first chapter, the bird offering is really what God thinks about the offering of the Lord Jesus on the cross. And I think that's very important to see. And I want to apologize if I don't make these things as clear as I should.
I apologize, I I, I just feel that it's nice to meditate a little bit on the work of the Lord Jesus.
And what we have on these chapters, and I trust what I say is according to the mind of God, but you'll notice in this third verse of our chapter, it says if his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let them offer a mail without blemish. Now I think most of us understand and forgive me, I'm speaking more to the young so they can understand these things it says without blemish. Why? Because the Lord.
Jesus was perfect, He was holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and that's what we had. When it says that the bail was to be without blemish, and then it says he shall offer it of his own voluntary will, I think that's very important too. And I just want to say that all these things that we have in this chapter are bringing before us the Lord Jesus in one way or another.
And in connection with the voluntary will.
Offering here, I want to turn to John 10 for a moment.
And I'll be turning to several verses, but in the 10th chapter of John.
And the 15th verse. Notice what the Lord says.
He says, as the Father knoweth me, Even so know I the Father, and I lay down my life for the sheep.
There we have the voluntary offer, the Lord Jesus willingly offering Himself as a sacrifice for the sheep. Let's go on. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold, them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice. And there shall be one fold and one shepherd.
Therefore does my Father love me because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. Notice there that the Lord Jesus willingly offered Himself as a sacrifice, laid down his life to shake it again. And you know, and so we see it was a voluntary sacrifice.
We find too that it says in in Psalm chapter 40, I believe, and it's quoted again in Hebrews chapter 10. The Lord Jesus says, lo, I come in the volume of the book that is written to me to do thy will.
Oh my God. And so in the burnt offering we have God's view of the sacrifice the Lord Jesus gave of himself.
He he went there to the cross in perfect obedience to his Father's will and.
He he did it to glorify God, and that's what we have here in the voluntary offering.
And then it says in the fourth verse, He shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him. In other words, when this.
Heifer or whatever it was came in to be sacrificed. The offer would put his hand on the the animal to the author and that speaks of identification with and notice the way it says.
It shall be accepted for him. And in that connection, I just wanted to read a version. Ephesians chapter one. Ephesians chapter one.
00:15:00
And verse.
First four, we'll just bring the whole verse according as he has chosen us in the end before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. That's not the first thing. Verse six to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he has made us accepted in the beloved.
That's a wonderful verse to consider. In other words, the Lord Jesus.
In perfect obedience to his Father's will went to the cross, and there he offered himself without spot to God. And God has fully accepted that work on the cross and we are accepted. Why? Because He is accepted. That's the wonderful thing. You know, there's a lot of Christians that think, well, I know the Lord died on the cross for my sins, but I have been such a failure. I've done so many bad things.
That I don't even know if I'm saved after all. And there they don't their salvation, but they forget that they are accepted in the beloved. They're accepted because the Lord Jesus has been accepted his his sacrifice on the cross perfectly satisfied all of God's hub requirements against sin. And the result is that we stand and all the acceptance of Christ.
How wonderful that is.
Well then, if you go down, we can't take time to go into every little detail, but you'll notice in the sixth verse it says he shall flee the burnt offering and cut it into his pieces. And then it says in the ninth verse, what his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water, and the priest shall burn all on the altar. Now what does that bring for us? I believe you know the water in Scripture speaks of the word of God.
And I think it's telling us that.
In the Lord's innermost being, in every thought, every action, everything He did, it was washed in water. It was according to the Word of God, it was an obedience to His Father's will. And so how wonderful that it says His inwards in His legs shall be washed in water. And then you notice at the end of the ninth verse it says it's an offering.
Made by fire of a sweet saver unto the Lord.
And I've enjoyed this too. You'll notice it's a sacrifice of the herd in the third chapter.
It mentions the sacrifice to her. Then in the 10th chapter, I'm sorry, the 10th verse it says it is offering me of the flocks, mainly of the sheep, and then in the 14th verse it mentions an offering of turtle dogs or young pigeons.
And why does it say that? And it repeats more or less the same things if you read it for the, for the, the sheep and the pigeons and so on. But why does it say, why does it give those three things? And you'll notice too, that after each one, after the, the herd, the animal of the herd, it says in the ninth verse a sweet saver under the Lord.
When it comes to the sheep they're offered, it's an offering made by fire of a sweet saver under the Lord.
And when it's the turtle, doves and the pigeons, it says it's an offering made by fire, the sweet saver under the Lord.
Why does it say that?
Well, I have enjoyed this, that you know, our appreciation of the work of the Lord Jesus on the cross varies. We don't all enter into it to the same degree. We know that in first John it talks about fathers, it talks about young men, it talks about little children.
And in our various.
As we mature in spiritual things, our appreciation of the death of Christ deepens, And in some cases it might be like offering a herd, an animal of the herd, or it might be like offering a sheep or turtle doves. And in other words, we might have a very poor appreciation of the work of the Lord Jesus on the cross. But Even so, God appreciates you, and he calls it a sweet savage.
The Lord. And so when we come together on marching morning, there might be some who can OfferUp.
A wonderful prayer and it shows the depth of understanding and appreciation of the work of Christ. And yet there might be someone else who has very little to offer, and yet the Lord appreciates it. I remember years ago going to.
00:20:15
A meeting and in Maine, he was in Detroit. Maybe some of you remember going to Detroit, Maine. There was a brother there and he got up to pray, to give thanks for the the emblem.
And what struck me was he just got up there and I can't give you the exact words, was something like this. Lord Jesus, thank you so much for dying on the cross. Amen. It was about that easy, about that simple. And it struck me more than any other prayer I've ever heard in the breaking of bread. He was just telling the Lord that he appreciated what he had done. You know, it was just like the turtle dogs or the pigeons.
Wasn't very much, but it was a sweet savor under the world. And so the Lord appreciates it. And I want to say this to the to the young brothers here, you know, you might think, well, I have to leave. We can't get up and pray or get out of him and leave it up to the older brothers. The Lord appreciates any little thing that you say or do that would bring glory to his Son, the Lord Jesus.
Because he appreciates his son more than we can ever imagine.
And so how wonderful we have this burn sacrifice brought before us in the first chapter, in the second chapter.
We have brought before us the meal off of.
And the meal offering, I believe, brings before us the Lord Jesus in his life here on earth in perfect obedience to His Father's will. And there are many details in this second chapter that I think are very interesting too. Let's just take a look, it says. And when any will offer a meal offering, it should be a meal offer, not a meal offering.
It wasn't an animal offering here it was really.
As you see could be fine flour, it could be green ears, it was something.
That was not flesh, if you want to put that way. And when he will offer a meal offering under the Lord, his offering shall be a fine flower, and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense there on.
And so here they, you notice it was a meal offering and this particular meal offering in the first verse was a fine flower. Now, I suppose you younger ones and even older, we have put our hands sometimes into a a bag of flour. Have you done that? You can't get anything more smooth. It's just perfectly smooth. No chunks or bumps or anything. It's just.
Silk and feel so smooth and you'll notice here that this offering the meal offering was to be a fine flower and what does that bring before us? Well, you know I believe it brings before us the perfect uniformity and everything the Lord Jesus did perfect uniform and you know we tend to.
Have strong points. We know that Moses was known for his meekness, Joseph heard Job was known for his patience, and so on.
And so there are certain things that we find in our lives that sort of stand out and other things we sort of our weekend and so on. But with the Lord Jesus, that was perfect evenings. Everything was absolutely perfect and even there was no inconsistency.
It was absolutely perfect, and so we find here was flying flour, and so it would also bring before us, I believe, His purity and His evenness of character. And then it says He shall pour oil upon it. Why does it say that?
Well, oil in Scripture, as we know, speaks of the Spirit of God. And let's just take a look at a verse in Luke chapter one for the moment, Luke chapter one.
Speaking of the birth of the Lord Jesus.
And notice what it says in the 35th verse.
It says, The Angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon me, and the power of the Highest shall over shadow me. Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
00:25:09
Notice it says the Holy Ghost shall come upon, and the power of the highest river shadow. In other words, the Lord Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. It's rather remarkable. If you go to Genesis chapter 3, it says I'll just read the I'm not very good at quoting, but I'll read what it says there after Adam sinned.
It says.
It speaks of the seed of the woman. Yes, verse 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed. So it talks about the seed of the woman. Normally we would speak about the seed of the man, but in Genesis three there it says the seed of the woman. Why? Because.
The Lord Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and His Father was not.
Not Joseph, even though people today would look at them that way. And so he was. It says here in our first, that he shall pour oil upon us. In other words, the Lord Jesus was conceived of the Spirit of God.
And it says put frankincense there on. In other words, it was a fragrance. Frankincense was like a an incense that that filled the room and and ascended to the Lord. And so the Lord Jesus life here on earth in perfect obedience, obedience to his Father's will and in absolute evenness.
It it was a sweet savory. It was a it was a fragrance to God.
As we have in this first verse. Well then if you go down again, it says in the second verse, it was a sweet savor under the Lord, this offering.
The meal offering but then it goes on and says.
In the fourth verse, if thou bring an oblation of a meat, meat offering, or a meal offering bacon in the oven, it shall be of unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
That's going to make one more comment, an introduction here, and that is that I remember Gordon Hale giving an illustration which really helped me. You know, he said that if you go to the to say Canadian Tire and you buy a BBQ, you get all these parts in a box, right? And you take it home.
And you take out the instructions and you find that there are a long list of written instructions.
And then there's a diagram showing you how it all goes together. Well, he pointed out this way that in the New Testament we have, you might say the instructions, the truth of Christianity in the New, in the Old Testament, you have, can I say God's picture book or the diagram of how everything fits together. And so what's wonderful is that in these chapters that we're reading, even though it's talking about.
Offerings at the.
Children of Israel offered it's all a picture of the Lord Jesus, and we are instructed about the life of the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross through these things. Well, you'll notice.
In this fourth verse it talks about the meal offering and only this time it's bacon in an oven. And then if you go to the fifth chapter it says it's bacon in the pan.
And then it says in the seventh verse that it's bacon in the frying pan. Now why does it say that?
Well, in the first case, it's bacon in the oven. Now, you know when you put something in the oven, you close the door and the heat is applied and you can't really see what's happening in there because the oven door is closed. And so a beacon in the oven. I believe the heat here that we find is really Speaking of the sufferings of the Lord Jesus.
You know, we often think of his sufferings on the cross.
And that was for our sins, no doubt, and for the glory of God. But.
The sufferings in the oven here, bacon in the oven were his hidden sufferings. In other words, we read that verse this morning in in Isaiah 53 where it says.
00:30:09
Again, I'll just read it. It will only take a minute, it says.
He is despised and rejected of man, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. You can imagine, here's the Lord, the perfect, sinless, spotless Lamb of God, coming into this world.
And what does he do? He heals the sick. He cleanses the leopard. He opens the eyes of the blind. And what does he get?
The very people he comes to bless, they despise him, they reject them. They don't want him. They say we will not have this matter right over us. Can you imagine how he felt inside?
These were his hidden sufferers and there are many things that the Lord had to endure that.
Greed disappears because he was wholly and harmless, undefiled, and yet he was in a land, a world of sin and sorrow and heartache. And so they are the the hidden sufferings of the Lord Jesus. But then when you come, then it says here.
That.
This particular offering and bacon in the oven was to be mingled with oil. Well again, I believe it brings before us the fact that the Lord Jesus always acted in the in the power of the Spirit of God. I think that that's what brings brings before us. But then it says unleavened wafers. Why unleavened? Well, if you were to go to 1St Corinthians 5, it won't take time to do it. But if you went there, you would find out that.
Is a picture of sin and the Lord Jesus said to his disciples at one time he said beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. So Levin is a picture of sin. So that's why this offering this meal offering was to be unleavened. It says unleavened wafers and then it says anointed with oil. It's wonderful to think of the.
The specificity of Scripture, you might say.
First of all, it says that this offering was to be mingled with oil. Now it says anointed with oil. And what would that bring before us? Well, I think if you turn to Luke three, you would understand right away. Luke chapter 3 and.
When you think of those wonderful verses.
Verse 21.
When all the people were baptized, that came to pass, but Jesus also being baptized and praying. The heaven was open, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice from heaven which said, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Is that not the Lord Jesus being anointed with oil?
You remember Samuel there when he called for David to come, was another picture of the Lord Jesus.
Samuel took that vial of oil and poured it on his head. It's a picture of the Lord Jesus being anointed with oil. So he was not only mingled with oil, but it was about the the offering was anointed with oil. And there's another verse too, I think that would be helpful. Acts chapter 10. Let's take a look at Acts chapter 10 that gives the same thought.
Acts chapter 10 and verse 38.
It says there, and this is Peter speaking, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.
What about doing good and healing all of the repressed of the devil, for God was with him.
But no one that says how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost. So how wonderful the the perfection of Scripture here that we bring before us these wonderful things about the Lord Jesus life on earth. And then it goes on and says in the fifth verse and if thy oblation be a meat offering bacon in a pan.
It shall be a fine flower. Now I understand in the original the thought is a flat pan, absolutely flat. The heat is applied to the pan and but this time it's not been enough.
00:35:01
And I believe would bring before us more the open sufferings of the Lord Jesus, not the hidden sufferings, but more the open sufferings. And so if you turn to Luke chapter four, we won't go into a lot of detail. I don't want to spend a lot of you, just sort of suggest it to you.
But in Luke chapter four we have the Lord Jesus being taken into the wilderness, and there he is tempted of Satan for 40 days and 40 nights, and there he suffered.
Through these temptations we know that he didn't eat during this time and Satan told him to to make those turn those stones into bread. But you know the Lord had never been given.
A command by his Father to turn those stones into bread so he wouldn't do it. And in that way he suffered openly. And the same thing is true if you read through this chapter, it speaks of his open sufferings. And so there were many times the Lord Jesus suffered in this way more openly.
Well then it says of course it speaks to pouring oil on it again we've already mentioned that. Then going on to the 7th verse it says if I obligation be a meat offering or a meal offering bacon in the frying pan.
Now we all know what a frying pan is. It's more open, but it has sort of a.
A border to it and I understand that in the original language.
The thought of the frying pan is.
Agitation stirred up, sort of a stirring up. And you know, when you get a frying pan and you put something in too often, stir it up and when you apply the heat and so on, and.
I think this is another type of suffering that the Lord Jesus endured particularly.
Well, let's just take in Gethsemane is what I'm thinking of, but let's just turn to John chapter.
12 for a moment.
Chapter 12.
And we get a verse there when the Lord Jesus was anticipating the cross.
And notice what he says in verse 27. I think this is the closest to get to Gethsemane in the Gospel of John. It says, Now is my soul troubled? And what shall I say, Father, save me from this hour? But for this cause came I unto this hour. Here the Lord is.
Anticipating what it's going to be to be made sin and to go with the cross and and suffer in those three hours.
As the sin bearer, he who was holy and harmless and undefiled, separate from sinners. And he says my soul is troubled. And then of course, if you go to Matthew chapter 26, we have the the Gethsemane again and.
Are actually.
Well, we can certainly read part of this just.
Matthew 26, verse 38 Then saith He unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death. Terry here can watch with me.
They went little further and fell on His face and prayed, saying, Oh, my Father would be possible, Let this cup pass from me nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou will. And we know that in another passage it says that He sweat as a word, great drops of blood falling down to the ground. It brings before us the intense agony He had in view of going to the cross.
And I believe that's what we're brought, what's brought before us in connection with the frying pan.
And so there were many sufferings that the Lord Jesus suffered even before he went to the cross. And we, we haven't brought before us a little bit in this meal offering. Well, then you if you go down, we won't take too much longer. I want to leave time for others. But you'll notice in the 10th verse it says that that which is left of the meal offering shall be.
Errands and his sons.
Notice there was a portion left for Aaron and his sons. And what was that? Great. What would that bring before us?
They bring before us the fact that.
The Lord would have us to feed on His life to think of what?
00:40:00
He lived in perfect obedience to his Father's will and how he always did that which was always did that which would glorify his Father. And we're defeat on that. We're to rejoice in it and meditate on it just as Aaron and his sons were to partake of this. And then you go down to the 11Th verse and it mentions 11 again, you'll notice.
No meat offering which he shall bring under the Lord shall be made with love.
We've already commented on that. For ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey.
In any offering of the Lord made by fire. Now, you know, honey brings before us natural sweetness. That's what it is. And I think it it brings before us to our natural relationships with each other. And the Lord Jesus, as we know, he had a mother and Joseph was looked upon as his father. He had brothers and sisters.
But he never allowed those relationships to interfere.
With.
With his work in obedience to His Father's will.
Just take a look for a moment in Luke chapter.
I think it is at the moment Luke chapter 2.
You remember the story of how his father and mother had gone up to the temple.
And he remained behind and sat in the midst of the doctors, both hearing and them and asking them questions.
And then you'll notice that his mother comes along, and she they discover him. Of course they return and they discover him in the temple. And notice what his mother says in the 48th verse. Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father, and and I have sought thee sorrowing.
But notice how he answers. He says, how is it that you saw me wish he not that I must be of those my father's business. In other words, the Lord here is showing that what was important was doing his Father's will, and that's what came first. But even even though that was true, notice what it says next. It says in verse 51, He went down with them and came to Nazareth.
And was subject under them, so everything was in perfect balance. Another example of this same thing is found in John chapter.
Chapter 2 You know the story of the wedding in in Cana of Galilee, and you remember they ran out of wine. And notice what Mary says in verse three. When they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
But there knows what at the point the Lord answers, He says, Woman, what am I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come.
In other words, Mary was trying to influence them on a natural level and and saying, well, you know, you have the ability to turn this water into wine, do it for them, show them a favor. But notice the Lord says my hour is not yet come. He wouldn't allow natural relationships to interfere with his labor for his father. He always did what his father commanded.
And so there was to be no honey offered.
Well then you go down. And another thing that's interesting is verse 13. It says every ablation of the meat of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt. Neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering. With all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt. Will we know?
I want to say this to those who are younger. When you think of salt, you think of something you can put on your potatoes or your meat to make it taste a little better. But you know the primary reason for salt in old times.
Was that there was a preservative?
In fact, salt was so important that it cost a fair amount because people needed it to preserve their meat during the winter months or whatever it was. So it was a preservative. And it's wonderful to think that everything the Lord Jesus spoke and did, it was it was to be a preservative.
00:45:02
Just take a look at Luke again. Luke chapter 4.
In fact, you'll notice I've been turning the loop quite a bit.
Why? Because I believe in Luke. We have the Lord Jesus brought before us as the meal off.
In John we have the Lord Jesus brought before us as the burned off.
But in Luke 4 you remember here a little further down from where we were.
So the Lord says, verse 24. Verily I say unto you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.
I tell you of the truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land. But unto none of them was a liar sense or Elijah sins, save unto Sareta, a city of Sidon, which was outside of Israel, and unto a woman that was a widow. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of.
Elisha the prophet.
And none of them were clans. Saved name on the leper who was a Syrian.
In other words, the Lord was saying those of you in Israel wouldn't accept.
How, how shall I put it? Those in Israel refused the testimony of the Lord. And So what happened? The blessing went out to the the widow of Sarepta. It went out to the name of the Syrian. And these people were so cross when they heard this that they wanted to push him over the hill. In other words, he was applying the salt.
There's another verse too in this in this chapter that's interesting.
It says they marveled at the.
Verse 22, all bearing witness and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. So they marveled at his gracious words, but when he applied the salt, they got angry and they wanted to push him over the brow of the hill. Well, that salt is the preservative and that's what each offering here, meal offering was to have. And then just one other thing I'll mention.
In the 14th verse it says if thou offer a meal offering of thy first fruits under the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meal offering of the first fruits, green ears of corn. Now I believe when it talks about green ears is talking about ears ears of corn that aren't quite right.
And I think in that connection turn to a Psalm 102.
Psalm 102.
And notice what it says prophetically in verse 24 of the Lord Jesus.
I said, Oh my God, take me not away in the midst of my days.
Thy years are throughout all generations. Notice it says take me not away in the midst of my days. You know the Lord Jesus, when did he when was he crucified? He was crucified about the when he was about 33 years old, just about in the middle of his days.
In other words, it was as if he was a greener of corn. Did you ever notice that? It says in Luke again if you've done these things in the green tree.
What shall be done in the drive?
The green tree perhaps brings before us the Lord being taken away in his youth when he was 33 years old.
So it says here the meat offering was the first fruits, green ears of corn dried by the fire.
I know there's a lot that you can bring out perhaps that I haven't brought out here, but what does it mean driving by the fire? I was wondering that myself.
But you know, I was thinking before the Lord Jesus went to the cross.
What does it say in Philippians 2 who being in the form of God, thought of not robbery to be equal with God?
But what happened but took upon him the form of a servant, and was found in fashion as a man. He humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross.
In other words, it's just as if his glories were dried up because he had to go to the cross. Of course. They weren't drawing up all together, of course, but.
00:50:03
He those glories of his work were hidden.
They were hidden when he was here on earth in many cases, although we know that he did many miracles and he certainly showed who he was. But anyway, it says green ears dried by the fire, something to meditate on.
Well, I just leave those things with you. I've enjoyed going over this many, many times, and I think it's profitable to spend a few hours just going over these chapters. I remember.
John and I keep thinking about Ottawa years ago. And brother John, you remember Tom Jones.
And Tom Jones used to say, I don't believe you can understand the scriptures properly unless you understand the offerings of Leviticus used to say that.
And I think there's so much here to bring before us the, the death and the and the life of the Lord Jesus. That is profitable meditation for everyone of us. So I just leave that with you. It's been encouragement to me.
Maybe we could sing #230 in connection with the meal offering him I've often enjoyed.
Oh Lord, when we the three frames.
From true and I was grasped one of my grace.
Thy faithfulness to God.
Make my wife.
And pleasure find anything.

To share a couple of.
Brief comments from the Book of Exodus, so once again repented to.
Really enjoyed those thoughts on the offerings. We'd like to heard sending the peace in the trespassing or trespass offering also, but this really just comes out of something we had on a reading meeting this past week.
And I'll take only a brief moment. Exodus chapter 23.
Yeah.
And I want to turn to.
There's 28.
Three through 27 First I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come.
And I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
Send Hornets before thee, which shall drive out the highlight Canaanites and the Hittite from before. The question was asked in the meeting.
What these Hornets could possibly mean and a brother shared in the meeting that I very much appreciated the the thought of the Lord going before us in life and.
Preparing things for us, working in our lives in ways that advance ways, if you will, that are hidden from us and we don't see. Perhaps these Hornets went out in front of the children of Israel. They never saw them there, and the Lord was preparing the way as they entered that land of Kingdom.
And we know that this in fact happened not so much in connection with the Hornets, but in verse 27 it said, I will send my fear before you will destroy all the people whom thou shalt come. And we know that happens because turn to book of Joshua, chapter one.
Chapter 2 When the spies come to Rahab's home.
It says there in verse nine, she said under the men, I know that the Lord has given you the land.
That your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. They were already weakened because the fear of the Lord had arrived ahead of time.
The Lord was preparing the way. So I wanted to just turn to three other instances in Scripture when we get this expression, and I will make very little comment on them. One in Deuteronomy chapter one.
This one is really with a thought really for the young people, but it's an encouragement, I believe, to all of us.
Here on in chapter one.
And verse.
33.
Who went in the way before you to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way you should go in a cloud by day? And I really like to just comment on that expression to search you out a place to fit your tension. We often think about the fire in the cloud.
Advising the children of Israel when to move and where to go.
Is their guidepost, so to speak.
But it was says here that it was there also to search a place for their tents to be pitched. And did you ever think that in your life God is going before you to search out a place for you to pinch your tents, so to speak?
You know those young people here are not married yet. You may not have full time jobs yet. You may not know your plans beyond grade 12.
Maybe there's a question of where to live and all I really want to say about this is to God is already going before you and working it all out.
That doesn't mean it doesn't take away the responsibility for you to seek His guidance and direction, but He's already there in ways that are completely invisible to us. He knew long before I did, and He began working for my life here in Newfoundland. For your life in Corner Broker, your life in Stellar People.
In the way to prepare a place for them.
We also know that passes so well in Genesis chapter 45.
00:05:00
Read it off in the Lord's good morning.
Verse 7.
God sent me before you.
To preserve you of posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me, Heather, but God. And he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and Lord of all his house, and a ruler through all the land with Egypt.
Isn't that beautiful?
Joseph's brothers had no idea.
When they sold him to those people that day and when they plotted to kill him.
That that was part of a plan by God to preserve their life years down the road.
What an accident.
What are that degree? So you know, of course, and this is even far more beautiful, but that's a type of God's plan, salvation.
That He sent the Lord Jesus to prepare a way for us that we would have life.
And it's just a beautiful thing to meditate upon. Their failures resulted in the goodness of God preserving their life.
Lastly, I just want to turn to an expression that we're also familiar with in Matthew chapter 27.
28 Sorry Matthew, Chapter 28.
Verse 10.
Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid, Go tell my brother.
That they go into get that they go into Galilee and there they shall see me. That's actually not it was verse seven. I was thinking of go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead and behold, he goes before you into gallery. There shall ye see him. Lo, I have told you.
Maybe this one's a little more difficult to apply, but I'd like to apply it in this way. Jerusalem was the place where the Lord Jesus had been crucified, was the place of the Old covenant, so to speak. And the Lord Jesus left that place and went to that land of gallery, separated himself from that area, and went ahead into Galilee.
Where the poor folk were living on the hills, he separated himself before the disciples into that place and they were going to find him. And you know, young people in all of this year, the path of separation as believers, isn't it always, it's not always an easy one.
It's full of difficulties. We experience them every day with the Lord Jesus. He goes before you. He goes before you in and prepares that that way, as it were for you. And you know, the disciples were going to find him there and he was going to reveal himself to them in that risen state. And so I really just want to leave that with you very briefly.
That in your life there is one working in the background right now.
Doing things for you, for your good and blessing. And you should never forget it. It's a beautiful blessing thing to think about.
And again, as I say, it never lessens our responsibility to seek His guidance in our life. He is the Lord of all, but He is working for our good and that blessing.
We say #303.
303.
And stream them from the game, from Thyroid, thou wander. So now what's happening?
00:10:33
From our reserve that's free.
Starts umbrella. Quite clear skin to me, our daily fruit.
And the Spirit and all of our God.
Lord is enough. Let me ask no more thy grave.
Same 275 as well.
Our God is light, and though we go across the practice wild Jesus footsteps ever show past every child 276.
Our God is.
We go I, I.
The.
Sun.
00:15:12
Perhaps we could pray together just one verse. I'd like to read though John's Gospel chapter 5 and verse 39. It says this.
Search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and.
They are they which testify.
Our loving God and Father, we just thank Thee for this wonderful book that we can open. We thank Thee that that was revealed by Thy Spirit. Many things unto us and there is much more.
And we just thank thee for the opportunity have the ministry before us. And how even in the Old Testament we read things that picture the Lord Jesus Christ, his sinless life, and that sweet saver that went up to God in his life and in his death. Calvary.
We pray that these things would start our own hearts.
So that we might meditate upon them and profit as a result.
You build up in the knowledge that these things have been revealed unto us. Who are babes.
I was hitting them from the wise and the prudent, and revealed the month of us, and we thank thee for it. Give thee praise and the worthy name we receive you the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
