Suffering

And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly.
The Lord, being not only a man, but God too, could anticipate what lay ahead. And the fact that He had to be made sin and be separated from His God was tremendous torment. He agonized, prior to the cross, in prayer to His Father. He asked Him to take away the cup of judgment that He had to drink. But then He said, “Nevertheless, not My will but Thine be done.” In spite of the horror of the cross, Jesus was willing to go through with it - in His obedience to His Father and because of His love for us.
