Thy wrath lieth hard upon Me, and Thou hast afflicted Me with all Thy waves.
David wrote a remarkable amount that can be applied to the Lord. It seems to involve David’s personal experiences and yet in it we get the Lord’s feelings as He suffered at the hand of God on account of our sins. God’s waves of judgment passed over the Lord for three hours on the cross where He was punished for our sins. And the Lord Jesus felt every stroke. “ALL Thy waves,” it says here. God’s wrath against sin was fully vented on His Son. We will never have to feel the wrath of God, because the Lord bore it. Instead, we will enjoy God’s love forever.
