Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers    .    .    .    with    .    .    . tears.
Jesus was a man in the real sense of the word. He wasn’t protected from suffering and death and sorrow and the things about this life that we don’t like. No, He went through them just like we have to, only without sin. And when Calvary loomed up ahead He shrank back and with tears cried to God to save Him from it. He went through with it, of course, because He was totally obedient to His Father. But through the experience He learned the cost of obedience. Now He can sympathize with us when we cannot hold back tears, but have to let them fall.
