And Isaac dwelt in Gerar.
The name Gerar means “sojourning”, or temporary. Isaac’s home here was only temporary. He, along with many Old Testament saints, were looking for a permanent home away from this world. How about us? Do we dwell in tents (figuratively-speaking) or have we dug our roots so deep in this world that it’ll hurt to leave it? May we each live by faith, young people, and look for our home in heaven where all the troubles of this life will be shut out.
