ISA 5:25²⁵Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. (Isaiah 5:25)

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is outstretched still.

Five times in three chapters this statement is made. What a lesson for us. God became angry with His people because of their disobedience and waywardness. But He was always reaching out to draw them to Himself and restore communion. We often break communion with Him because of our selfishness and sinfulness. Sometimes He has to chasten us to make us pay attention. But He is love by nature and treats us with love all the time. And so for us, as with His Old Testament people, His hand is lovingly outstretched still.
