25. The blood of Jesus Christ is known on earth as having cleansed our persons. As it is written, " Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood." (Rev. 1:5⁵And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (Revelation 1:5).) Observe, it is us, that is, our persons here; and a portion so known to the soul as for it to be its song, not on the housetop only, but (as with John here) its theme to tell over all the world, and to every age, till the redemption of the purchased possession come.
